"Secret Of The Golden Flower:" 02-19-06
Secret of the Golden Flower
This ancient esoteric treatise was transmitted orally for centuries before being recorded on a series of wooden tablets in the eighth century. It was recorded by a member of the Religion of Light, whose leader was the Taoist adept Lu Yen (also known as Lu Yen and Lu “Guest of the Cavern”). It is said that Lu Tzu became one of the Eight Immortals using these methods. The ideas have been traced back to Persia and the Zarathustra tradition and its roots in the Egyptian Hermetic tradition.
HEAVENLY CONSCIOUSNESS OF THE HEART
Master Lu Tzu said: That which exists through itself is called Meaning. (Tao). Meaning has neither name nor force. It is the one essence, the one primordial spirit. Essence and life cannot be seen. It is contained in the Light of Heaven. The light of Heaven cannot be seen. It is contained in the two eyes. Today I will be your guide and will first reveal to you the secret of the Golden Flower of the Great One, and, starting from that, I will explain the rest in detail.
The Great One is the term given to that, which has nothing above it. The Secret of the magic of life consists in using action in order to achieve non-action. One must not wish to leave out the steps between and penetrate directly. The maxim handed down to us is to take in hand the work on the essence. In doing this it is important not to follow the wrong road.
The Golden Flower is the Light. What color has the light? One uses the Golden Flower as an image. It is the true power of the transcendent Great One. The phrase, ‘The lead of the water-region has but one taste,” refers to it. The work on the circulation of the Light depends entirely on the backward-flowing movement, so that the thoughts are gathered together (the place of Heavenly Consciousness, the Heavenly Heart). The Heavenly Heart lies between sun and moon (i.e., the two eyes).
The Book of the Yellow Castle says: In the field of the square inch of the house of the square foot, life can be regulated. The house of the square foot is the face. The field of the square inch in the face: What could that be other than the Heavenly Heart? In the middle of the square inch dwells the splendor. In the purple hail of the city of jade dwells the god of utmost emptiness and life. The Confucians call it the center of emptiness; the Buddhists, the terrace of life; the Taoists, the ancestral land, or the yellow castle, or the dark pass, or the space of former Heaven. The Heavenly Heart is like the dwelling place, the Light is the master. Therefore when the Light circulates, the powers of the whole body arrange themselves before its throne, just as when a holy king has taken possession of the capital and has laid down the fundamental rules of order, all the states approach with tribute, or, just as when the master is quiet and calm, men-servants and maids obey his orders of their own accord, and each does his work.
Therefore you only have to make the Light circulate: that is the deepest and most wonderful secret. The Light is easy to move, but difficult to fix. If it is allowed to go long enough in a circle, then it crystallizes itself: that is the natural spirit -body. This crystallized spirit is formed beyond the nine Heavens. It is the condition of which it is said in the Book of the Seal of the Heart: Silently in the morning thou fliest upward.
In carrying out this fundamental truth you need to seek for no other methods, but must only concentrate your thoughts on it. The book Leng Yen says: By collecting the thoughts one can fly and will be born in Heaven. Heaven is not the wide blue sky, but the place where the body is made in the house of the creative, If one keeps this up for a long time, there develops quite naturally in addition to the body, yet another spirit-body.
The Golden Flower is the Elixir of Life (literally, golden ball, golden pill). All changes of spiritual consciousness depend upon the Heart. Here is a secret charm, which, although it works very accurately, is yet so fluent that it needs extreme intelligence and clarity, and complete absorption and calm. People without this highest degree of intelligence and understanding do not find the way to keep fast hold of it.
Three Correlate Systems
There are three important systems, which are, the: physiological bases of our experiences in meditation. These
have a one-to-one relationship with the three levels of mind: conscious, subconscious and super conscious.
The first of the systems is the part of the cerebrospinal system that is under our conscious control. This is related especially to the five senses and muscular actions, and it corresponds to the physical and the conscious mind.
For example, we use the cortex of our brain and the spinal cord to carry nerve impulses to various muscles when we consciously decide to make some movement.
The second system is the autonomic system, which corresponds to the subconscious mind. The autonomic system controls automatic subconscious functioning; for example,
your heartbeat, breathing or digestion.
The third system is the endocrine system, which has a special relationship to the soul and the super conscious mind.
If we are to meditate, we have to make use of that part of the cerebrospinal system that is under our conscious control to make the effort of giving the proper time to meditation.
If we are sitting in front of the television, it takes will power and conscious effort to get up and turn the set off and get ourselves into another room to meditate. This conscious effort is the first step in the physiology of meditation.
Probably in the initial part of our meditation periods we will be using the cerebrospinal system primarily. Under our conscious direction our body goes through preparatory exercises, and the conscious mind is then focused on an affirmation.
When we say “effort” is required to focus on an affirmation, we don’t want to imply that meditation is straining. Instead, the word “effort” implies the sense of doing it, making it a discipline and directing our conscious will to awaken the joy of doing it each day.
If the conscious effort can quiet the outer body, then, through the autonomic system, we are able to attain a stillness and quiet within the body. There is a distinct part of the autonomic nervous system, called the parasympathetic nervous system, which allows the body to relax, to be still and to be quiet.

This is the Cayce Method of meditation using the Lords Prayer.
THE OPEN DOOR; the closed door is a symbol of the second spiritual center corresponding to the endocrine cells of Leydig. The quality of consciousness is the division of male and female - duality instead of oneness. The sixth center identified with the pineal associated with mind of Christ is symbolized by the open door. A Special relationship exists between the Leydig and the Pineal. The most effective way to work with meditation is to raise the energy associated with the cells of Leydig directly to the Pineal, temporarily bypassing the other lower centers.
The energy then awakens the highest center (Crown) and flows back down to cleanse the patterns of consciousness related to the lower centers Beginning with a study of the Endocrine glands.
The glands of reproduction, gonads, may be compared to a motor, which raises the spiritual power in the body. This Spiritual Power enters through the center of the Lydigian glands. This is sealed or open according to the use in which it has been put through spiritual activities. With the arousing of the image or ideal, this life force rises along what is known as the Appian Way, or the silver cord. To the pineal center in the brain, the third eye (the pituitary body) Thus on entering meditation there is a definite impulse from the glands of reproduction that passes through the pineal to the pituitary, the master gland.
What ever is the ideal of the individual, it is propelled upward and finds expression in the activity of the imaginative forces. Thus it is most imperative to know what is your ideal?
How does the Lords Prayer work in opening the charkas? Chakra is a Spiritual correlate of the physical endocrine gland system, a transducer from the Spiritual body to the physical body. As the glands are stimulated they secrete a hormone directly into the blood stream. It takes only a second for the secretion and the resulting action to take place.
It is necessary to purify our minds if we would meditate you raise what ever you put in your mind when you meditate Before beginning to meditate do a prayer of Protection. As I approach the throne of grace and beauty and Might, I step into the Love, Light Protection and Presence of Jesus Christ
The Lord’s Prayer; our Father which art in Heaven,( focus directed to the crown of the Head pituitary. Hallowed Be Thy Name an the nature of (focus at the center of the forehead) pineal Thy Kingdom come, Thy Will be done in the earth as it is in heaven (focus at the seat of the will the throat) thymus gland. Give us this day our daily Bread, our needs of the body (focus at the base of the spine) reproductive glands. Be Thou our guide in all our trials and tribulations, focus at the lydig, below the navel
Forgive us our Debts as we forgive our debtors. Focus at the solar plexus (the adrenals, the distribution box. The lydig and adrenal glands are interstitial (work together).
And Lead us into paths of Righteousness (right use ness) for thy namesake, focus at the heart (create in me a pure heart) For Thine is the Kingdom focus at the throat, seat of the will, and the Power focus at the center of the forehead (pineal) and the Glory (which means being fit to serve) energy at the crown of the head. Hold the energy light still, repeat an affirmation and hold the thought as one unit, if your minds start to stray just repeat the affirmation. When your meditation has meditated you, disseminate the energy in the form of prayer.
Very important, after your prayer shut the system down. Several have recounted experiences of trauma of form and formlessness impinging on their bodies and minds. When you leave the system open you are in danger of attracting the garbage of the world. This closing of the charkas can be achieved by repeating the 23 psalms
For an individual that would enter into meditation for self, for others:
Cleanse the body with pure water. Sit or lie in an easy position, without binding garments about the body. Breathe in through the right nostril three times, and exhale through the mouth. Breathe in three times through the left nostril and exhale through the right. Then, either with the aid of a low music, or the incantating of that which carries self deeper — deeper — to the seeing, feeling, experiencing of that image in the creative forces of love, enter into the Holy of Holies.
As self feels or experiences the raising of this, see it disseminated through the inner eye (not the carnal eye) to that which will bring the greater understanding in meeting every condition in the experience of the body. Then listen to the music that is made as each center of thine own body responds to that new creative force that is being, and that is disseminated through its own channel; and we will find that little by little this entering in will enable self to renew all that is necessary — in Him.
First, cleanse the room; cleanse the body; cleanse the surroundings, in thought, in act! Approach not the inner man, or the inner self, with a grudge or an unkind thought held against any man! Or do so to thine own undoing. sooner or later!
Prayer and meditation:
Prayer is the concerted effort of the physical consciousness to become attuned to the consciousness of the Creator, either collectively or individually. Meditation is empty~ self of all that hinders the creative forces from rising along the natural channels of the physical man to be disseminated through those centers and sources that create the activities of the physical, ~, the mental, the spiritual man; properly done must make one stronger mentally, physically, the autonomic nervous system (which also controls heart beat and breath) is utilized in Meditation.
