Sometimes it's overwhelming to figure out where to put your money. It helps when people like Oprah find good organizations to promote, helps weed out the duds. I like this organization for several reasons. One, I like the idea of helping mothers. In this way you can help the children as well. Organizations like UNICEF are good to and I have no problem with donating to them, as well as the Red Cross and the Salvation Army. Let's face it our world is in crisis in a million places so it takes some thought as to what to do where.
One of the reasons I like this organization is that after we entered Iraq, right or wrong the women seemed to be truely grateful. My feelings on the war have changed a lot since the decision was made to go to Iraq, but my feelings for these women have not. Women all over the world need us here who have it so good in this country. No matter what our economic level, we have it better than almost everyone! If you did not see Oprah yesterday I hope you will go to her page and check out Rowanda (not sure I spelled that right) and the Movie "Hotel Rowanda". As billions of dollars pour into the tsunami stricken areas other areas of the world destroyed by war are ignored. This organization monitors womens needs araound the world and most of the time we know little about these critical areas because the news does not cover it. My loving husband once told me to follow my heart, his advice has never changed. Follow your heart and God Bless!
