[21:18] <ron1> I suppose I should startup...give you guys something to do..:)
[21:18] <ron1> I’d like introduce astrology from both the traditional and the Cayce approach. This includes the mythological ,traditional & esoteric views. I would like to share other topics that interest me as well.
[21:19] <ron1> I’d like introduce astrology from both the traditional and the Cayce approach. This includes the mythological ,traditional & esoteric views. I would like to share other topics that interest me as well.
[21:19] <ron1> there you go...
[21:19] <ron1> :)
[21:19] <merlin> the esoteric is what i am most interested.
[21:20] <ron1> As for me, I'd rather be involved with the deeper side of astrology. That would be a serious study of interpretation. It can be a difficult study and most people are not inclined for this. So I try not to get too involved with this side of astrology.
[21:20] <ron1> But, I will do so if I find other(s) interested and ask me about it. The study of interpretation, which includes the study of dreams, will sharpen one's intuitive sense, of which. I’m also very involved with. I am drawn to the study of interpretation of things. Looking for omens and signs Trying be aware of coming changes.
[21:21] <ron1> I'd like to do more than one topic each week. Some may catch your attention, some may not.
[21:21] <ron1> One other thing, astrology is a very complex subject. I am learning only small part of it. So, unfortunately, I don't have all the answers and may have some trouble trying clarify a certain aspect of astrology. I don’t consider myself to be an authority.
[21:21] <ron1> I will draw up anyone's horoscope wheel. And. if there are persons interested, we could do general profiles/interpretations, seeing how astrology works. Plus, we will be finding ourselves in the horoscope we chose for this incarnation.
[21:22] <ron1> WHAT IS ASTROLOGY? by Llewellyn George
[21:22] <ron1> The work astrology, is derived from two Greek words, "astra," a star, and "logos," logic or reason. It literally implies the doctrine and law as shown by the stars or planets. Astrology is the science which defines the action of celestial bodies upon animate and inanimate objects, and their reaction to such influences.
[21:23] <ron1> It is the parent of astronomy. Originally, all who studied the stars were astrologers. The antiquity of astrology is such as to place it among the very earliest records of human learning.
[21:24] <ron1> . Later, astrology and astronomy were one science, but the latter now treats only of distances, magnitudes, masses, compositions, motions, speed, etc., and is founded upon observations made with various instruments; therefore astronomy may be termed a purely objective science,
[21:24] <ron1> concerned as it is with the outer expressions of other worlds, (with their form or body,) while astrology may be considered as subjective, dealing with the influence of the life within the form and its effect upon surrounding bodies, the Earth and its inhabitants in particular and so may properly be termed, the study of life's reactions to planetary vibrations.
[21:25] <ron1> . The making of a horoscopal figure is an astronomical process; the reading of the chart is astrological.
[21:25] <ron1> . The making of a horoscopal figure is an astronomical process; the reading of the chart is astrological.
[21:26] <ron1> In the beginning, when I first started the study of astrology, I had to calculate the planets, signs & houses by hand. and all my interpretations were hand written
[21:27] <ron1> Now adays, I have the computer..:)
[21:27] <ron1> Astrological science is generally broadly divided into five great branches, namely:
[21:27] <ron1> MEDICAL ASTROLOGY is devoted to diagnosis, healing and prevention of physical and mental aliments by knowledge gained from a horoscope.
[21:28] <ron1> WEATHER PREDICTING is the art of predicting the weather from planetary aspects.
[21:28] <ron1> MUNDANE ASTROLOGY related to the forecasting of the principle events which will come to pass in a country and conditions which will prevail in the land.
[21:29] <ron1> HORARY ASTROLOGY predicts events and conditions as they are foreshadowed by a horoscope at the time a question of serious import is submitted to an astrologer;
[21:29] <ron1> or the time when a clearly defined event, thought, idea or inspiration occurs to a person; or the time when a proposition is advanced to them and they are earnestly desirous of knowing what the outcome will be.
[21:30] <ron1> NATAL ASTROLOGY is directly concerned with the birth of a being into physical expression.
[21:30] <ron1> From a chart of the planetary system cast for the moment, date and place of birth, can be read the character, temperament, mental tendencies, physical peculiarities and ailments, together with much other information relating to the person and events which will affect the life to any important extent.
[21:30] <ron1> OTHER BRANCHES OF ASTROLOGY -
[21:30] <ron1> COMPARISON CHARTS, the interpretation of individuals for the purpose of partnership, such as marriage, business, etc.
[21:31] <ron1> VOCATIONAL ASTROLOGY helps one choose a vocation.
[21:31] <ron1> FINANCIAL ASTROLOGY deals with stocks and other financial investments.
[21:31] <ron1> ELECTIONAL ASTROLOGY helps one choose the best time for the start of any venture.
[21:31] <ron1> ESOTERIC ASTROLOGY is the study of the Soul, Reincarnation and Karma.
[21:32] <ron1> TRANSIT PREDICTION. A technique the uses the current planetary conditions to determine what is in the future. The most reliable system.
[21:32] <ron1> SOLAR RETURNS. A prediction technique that determines what is expected for the current year.
[21:32] <ron1> DIURNAL CHARTS and NEW MOONS. Predictions for the month or day.
[21:33] <ron1> PROGRESSIONS. Concept that a day equals a year. There are many of these symbolic systems.
[21:33] <ron1> The reason why there are so many is that they are unreliable. So astrologers kept looking for something that would work. Best to rely on transits. They indicate the actual sky positions as they are at that very moment. Besides, Cayce used the transits as indicators of what is to come.
[21:33] <ron1> We are "free" according to our wisdom, and we are "fated" in proportion to our lack of understanding. Astrology teaches when to expect changing circumstances in life and their nature; by it one may prepare to manipulate, transform and improve so-called "adverse" conditions before they appear and manifest better responses than otherwise.
[21:34] <ron1> Our object is to present the subject of astrology in such a manner that many of the valuable truths contained within its vast domain may take a useful, active and prominent part in assisting those who are participating in the present forward movement, thus making for still greater advancement toward individual excellence, development and expansion -
[21:35] <ron1> materially, mentally and physically - through conscious co-operation with Natural Law indicated by the solar system. That law creates conditions which provide opportunities for us to rise above the common illusions of life by spiritual interpretation and finer reactions.
[21:35] <ron1> Astrology, as the interpreter of Nature, shows that the world is conducted according to a well defined plan, that everything is arranged with wonderful order, duly timed with marvelous precision and effected with unerring accuracy.
[21:36] <ron1> . Nothing happens by chance; there are no accidents in the Divine Plan; and in reality there is no discord, for Nature recognizes Astrology, as the interpreter of Nature, shows that the world is conducted according to a well defined plan, that everything is arranged with wonderful order, duly timed with marvelous precision and effected with unerring accuracy.
[21:36] <ron1> oops
[21:37] <ron1> Thus it is seen that although we are subject to the various seasonal changes and are affected by planetary influences, yet we are not altogether and absolutely creatures of predestined or fate, for it remains with us to improve or neglect our opportunities; to manifest the influence in a course or in a refined manner.
[21:37] <ron1> Therefore, it behooves us to study Nature that we may consciously co-operate with her in order to produce higher and finer results from the various causes set in motion through us.
[21:38] <ron1> We do not change the law: we do not hold Nature in abeyance nor have it at our beck and call as may suit our personal fancies, but we can improve our manifested response to it by improving our thinking, our habits and actions.
[21:38] <ron1> The study of astrology shows us when certain influences are operative, but our own reactions, mentally, physically and spiritually, determine to a large extent the quality of the results as affecting us and our immediate surroundings. Thus astrology becomes the most important of all studies, and its precepts should be taught in every school.
[21:39] <ron1> so there...:)
[21:39] <Merri> lol
[21:39] <ron1> ASTROLOGY AND THE BIBLE
[21:39] <ron1> Clay tablets show that astrology flourished among the ancient Assyrians and Babylonians (1000-500 BC). Belief that the stars influence human affairs appears in the Old Testament (Jud. 5:20; Job 38:33).
[21:40] <ron1> It is generally associated with apostasy (Isa. 47:13-14) or with Gentile nations (Dan. 1:20; 2:2,10). Also flourished during the Greco-Roman world and Hellenistic period (325-63 BC).
[21:40] <ron1> Fragments of what appears to be a Magi (Matt. 2:1-2) were led to Jesus by unusual astronomical phenomena, which horoscope of the Messiah were found among the Dead Sea Scrolls. The included an astrological interpretation of this sky event.
[21:40] <ron1> STAR OF BETHLEHEM
[21:41] <ron1> The celestial phenomenon that brought the wise men from the East seeking the newborn "king of the Jews" (Matt. 2:2) has not been definitely defined.
[21:41] <ron1> Some have suggested that Venus was the harbinger of the Messiah's birth but the movements of Venus were too common and well known. In 12 BC, Chinese astronomical books, record the appearance of what came to be called Halley's Comet. This is considered unlikely because the comet, for the ancients was interpreted as omens of disaster.
[21:42] <ron1> In 5 BC the Chinese also recorded the appearance of a nova. This explosion took place near the star Alpha Aquilae which remained visible to the naked eye for about seventy days.
[21:42] <ron1> Since a nova is unimpressive it most likely was not the "star of Bethlehem". A super nova was recorded in the sign of Taurus, in 1054 AD, and others appeared in 1572 and 1604. None were recorded during the first century BC.
[21:42] <ron1> It was astronomer Johannes Kepler that suggested in the 17th century that the "star of Bethlehem" had to do with the conjunction of the planets Jupiter and Saturn.
[21:43] <ron1> This is the more accepted event...
[21:43] <ron1> A conjunction occurs when two or more planets occupy the same celestial longitude. Kepler noted that three conjunctions took place in 7 BC in the constellation Pisces on May 29th, on September 29th, and on December 4th.
[21:44] <ron1> In 1821 Bishop Munter of the Lutheran Church of Denmark suggested that there was no need for a "miracle" for the thrice repeated of Jupiter and Saturn in 7 BC, was most likely the "star of Bethlehem". This seems likely because Jewish astrologic tradition connects the appearance of the Messiah with this conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn, in the sign of Pisces.
[21:45] <ron1> . Pisces is regarded as the constellation of the Jews. Saturn is considered the planet of the Jews and Jupiter the planet of royalty. Jupiter is regarded as the star of the Messiah, and its conjunction with Saturn symbolized the exchange of royal power from the Most High to his messianic king.
[21:45] <ron1> When the wise men said, "We have seen his star in the East" (Matt. 2:2), the star they were referring to was Jupiter. In Hebrew the planet's name is "Sedheq" defined as "justice", which is frequently referred to the Messiah.
[21:46] <ron1> . The Old Testament regards Jupiter as the messianic star is located in Isa. 41:2, the first translated, "Whom has Sedheq stirred up from the east?".
[21:46] <ron1> Hence the New Testament spoke of the wise men coming from the East for it was there that the messianic star was made manifest. The phrase "in the East" (Matt 2:2 and 2:9), was referring to the location of the wise men and not of the star.
[21:47] <ron1> Jupiter is also interpreted in one's astrological, its location, as a "gift" and "protection" from God

[21:52] <ron1> PLANETARY SOJOURNS by Raye Mathis, MSW
[21:52] <ron1> WHEN YOU BEGIN TO WORK with your own horoscope, it is helpful to keep in mind the larger and more encompassing view of astrology that came from the Edgar Cayce readings.
[21:52] <merlin> ron, aquilla is the swan isn't it? also known as the southern cross
[21:52] <ron1> It could be merlin...I don't remember which is which now adays...:)
[21:53] <merlin> just that the pole star was once in that constellation
[21:53] <ron1> But I will be doing all the constellations and mythological astrology as well
[21:54] <ron1> The pole star I believe is in the handle of the Big Dipper...
[21:54] <merlin> the previous pole star was deneb
[21:54] <ron1> But I could br wrong...I am unable to keep track of all the information
[21:54] <merlin> which is in this constellation
[21:55] <ron1> Edgar Cayce gave almost 15,000 readings, and approximately 2,000 contained astrological information. One question addressed several times was whether humans are influenced by astrology. The answer was an unequivocal Yes.
[21:56] <ron1> ...Astrological influences are effective in the experience of each and every entity. (398-2) And, "why and how do the effects of the sun so influence other life in the earth and not affect man's life, man's emotions?" (5757-1)
[21:56] <ron1> In Cayce's more cosmic view of astrology, your present life on Earth develops out of two streams of experience:
[21:56] <ron1> 1. your past earthly lives, normally referred to as reincarnation; and
[21:57] <ron1> 2. your planetary sojourns, where your soul resides between earthly lives.
[21:57] <ron1> The Cayce readings differentiated the characteristics and influences of these two streams of experience as follows: your past earthly lives are a factor in your EMOTIONAL development while your planetary sojourns contribute to your MENTAL development.
[21:57] <ron1> Past earthly lives give you your personality. Planetary sojourns provide experiences that develop your individuality. Personality is that ye wish others to think and see. Individuality is that your soul prays, your soul hopes for, desires. They need not necessarily be one, but their purpose must be one. (5246-1)
[21:58] <ron1> If the personality were to be at odds with the individuality, then the readings suggest that the horoscope might not fit the person.
[21:58] <Moira_> What are planetary sojurns ron?
[21:58] <ron1> The soul's experiences inbetween earthly incarnations
[22:00] <Wanda> The North Star is the pole star Right?
[22:00] <ron1> choices made by the soul for soul development...the refining of one's behavior...or the practice of brotherhood
[22:00] <ron1> currently...it is where the axis is pointing now
[22:01] <ron1> the pole star changes periodically aqs a result of the wobble in the earths axis...this wobble is stablised by the Moon
[22:02] <ron1> as*
[22:02] <ron1> Urges termed astrological would be very far from correct in this particular entity. For...the personality and the individuality of the entity are quite at variance... (5246-1) The goal is to balance these two streams of influence inherited from your past lives on the one hand and your planetary sojourns on the other hand.
[22:02] <ron1> How are you to integrate these two very different soul experiences? According to the readings, these meet and are harmonized in the setting of your Ideal and the subsequent use of your Will to make choices according to your Ideal.
[22:03] <merlin> balance as in libra
[22:03] <ron1> As one often-quoted phrase states...spirit is the life, mind is the builder and the physical is the result. (262-28) This setting of the Ideal and use of the Will result in material changes in your life, even including the glandular system in your body.
[22:03] <ron1> The readings indicate the endocrine glands are a point of contact for the soul forces - a meeting place for the spiritual, mental, and physical bodies and by implication, a place where past earthly lives and planetary sojourns meet.
[22:04] <ron1> In the 281 series of readings on meditation and the meaning of the Revelation, a correlation was even made between each endocrine center and a planet: Pituitary/Jupiter; Pineal/Mercury;
[22:04] <ron1> Thyroid/Uranus; Thymus/Venus; Adrenals/Mars; Lyden/Neptune; Gonads/Saturn.
[22:05] <merlin> as in the lords prayer too
[22:05] <ron1> There is a branch of astrology today that believes one can 'see' and interpret past earthly lives in a horoscope. According to the Cayce readings, however, you can 'read' past earthly lives only from a life reading (or psychic reading.) What you see in the horoscope are your planetary sojourns - those influences from your soul's experiences between those earthly lives. (254-21)
[22:06] <ron1> I would say that the closest we get to past life indications in a horoscope, would be called 'karma'
[22:06] <ron1> It is difficult to contemplate the potential power you have, according to Cayce. Not only do planets influence you, but you influence planets as well.
[22:07] <ron1> ...Rather than the star directing the life, the life of the individual directs the courses of the stars, see? (311-10)
[22:07] <ron1> ...for man was created a little bit higher than all the rest of the whole universe, and is capable of harnessing, directing, enforcing, the laws of the universe. (5-2)
[22:07] <ron1> One entire reading was devoted to Sun spots or the solar storms, suggesting that our attitudes were reflected, even on the surface of the Sun.
[22:08] <ron1> Then, what are the sun spots? A natural consequence of that turmoil which the sons of God in the earth reflect upon same.
[22:08] <ron1> Thus they oft bring confusion to those who become aware of same... know that thy mind - thy mind - is the builder! As what does thy soul appear? A spot, a blot upon the sun? or as that which giveth light unto those who sit in darkness, to those who cry aloud for hope? (5757-1)
[22:08] <ron1> In learning to harmonize our two streams of past existences: earthly lives and planetary sojourns, personality and individuality, emotional life and mental abilities, we truly become equal partners and co-creators of the universe, as we were meant to be from the beginning.......END

[22:04] <ron1> In the 281 series of readings on meditation and the meaning of the Revelation, a correlation was even made between each endocrine center and a planet: Pituitary/Jupiter; Pineal/Mercury;
