"Amino Acids, Part V"
(09:12:41) (kazu) amiohow many kind of amino acide are th4re ? infinity?
(09:12:49) (kazu) infinite?
(09:13:13) (Bill) 24 studied ones Kazu
(09:13:24) (kazu) ?
(09:14:43) (Host-Nick) Not really, there are 8 essential, although there are about five others which you need to make sure you eat continuously. There are about 23 most used amino acids and then there are three tripeptides (three amino acids strung together on a chain which have a similar chemistry) to make sure you have in your body.
(09:17:36) (Host-Nick) Tonight we will finish with the amino acids. With the exception of L-tryptophan. This amino acid is so important that I wish to dedicate an entire topic to it. Along with the ways of finding the amino acids in vegetarian diets which can be difficult.
(09:22:22) (Host-Nick) We had stopped at Threonine, an essential amino acid which is critical to maintaining the balance in the body of all amino acids. This amino acid is also necesary for the formatipon of collagen, elastin and thusly cartilage, bone and repairing tissue. It is esential because the important amino acids glycine and serine are made from it. It is low in grains and so vegetarians have to watch their threonine levels.
(09:25:01) (Leon) If he can tell me where I can find Threonine
(09:25:54) (Host-Nick) Mostly from animal proteins, but we will review sources of amino acids on wrap up.
(09:27:42) (Host-Nick) The next amino acid is tyrosine. This is extremely important since it is the precursor of the neurotransmitters do[pamine and norepinephrine, which regulate the ,moods, metabolism and serve as the activating impulse for the nervous system.
(09:29:10) (Raleigh) is this the omega 3 in fish?
(09:29:26) (Host-Nick) Tyrosine acts as a mood elevator, and its deficiency leads to reduced norepinephrine which leads to a mood of depression. Tyrosine is made from L-phenylalanine an essential amino acid. But it is necesary to check for both when you have your amino acid profile taken.
(09:30:12) (Host-Nick) No, the Omega-3 is an oil found in fish. This topic can be reviewed at the end of the nutritiopnal balance chapters. :o)
(09:30:49) (Raleigh) where is this / what food has this mood elevator nik?
(09:32:07) (merri) thyme is a mood elevator
(09:32:17) (Raleigh) what food has Tyrozin nick?
(09:32:22) (merri) you can make "happy salads"!!
(09:32:25) (Host-Nick) Sources of tyrosine include almonds! avocados, bananas, dairy, lima beans, pumkin and sesame seeds..
(09:32:31) (Cris) That's why we are so agreeable at Thanksgiving
(09:32:49) (Qrious) lol merri. . take me where your at ..
(09:33:04) (Raleigh) hmmm / cayce said an almond a day keeps several kinds or drz away / so i do
(09:33:38) (Raleigh) babanaz are to be avioded btw
(09:33:46) (Host-Nick) Tyrosine bonds with Iodine +3 in the body and is converted into the thyroid hormone triiodothyronine T3, which itself is a precursor of thyroxin T4.
(09:33:49) (Qrious) I like babanaz.
(09:33:55) (merri) not for everybody Ral
(09:34:20) (WalksInSpirit) What is that, Qrious?
(09:34:29) (Raleigh) give me the recipt for those happy saladz pls merri?
(09:34:32) (Raleigh) :)
(09:34:43) (Qrious) its a nana.. thats a banaz Walks.. lol
(09:34:55) (merri) use thyme in your salads
(09:35:02) (Raleigh) ec said avoid nanaz
(09:35:04) (Raleigh) so i do
(09:35:07) (WalksInSpirit) Ahhh... a 'nanner! LOL ;-)
(09:35:23) (Host-Nick) Supplements of tyrosine are helpful for stress reduction, thyroid imbalances, narcolepsy and chronic fatigue syndrome. It also helps conditipons of nervous twitching and uncontrolled nervous activity.
(09:35:27) (Qrious) sorta like a hen apple.
(09:35:28) (merri) that was for a specific person
(09:35:30) (Raleigh) lol
(09:35:46) (WalksInSpirit) LOL
(09:35:57) (Host-Nick) OK any questions on tyrosine?
(09:36:07) (Qrious) narcolepsy huh.. zzzzz.
(09:36:08) (Raleigh) walks yur gonna get me in trouble man
(09:36:11) (ron) i have an ARE book on healing foods...and bananz are not avoided:)
(09:36:11) (Raleigh) again
(09:36:13) (Raleigh) :)
(09:36:20) (Cheryl) How much is too much? Nick?
(09:36:44) (merri) thought so ron
(09:37:56) (Qrious) so tyrosine is in what food group Nick.. and how much different from T4.
(09:38:02) (Host-Nick) Valine is an essential amino acid. It is used in muscle metabolism, tissue building and the reductipon of waste nitrogen in the body. It is one of the branched amino acids, which means it releases a large amount of energy when burnt in the cells
(09:38:05) (Raleigh) bananasz are to be avoided sais cayce ok
(09:38:07) (WalksInSpirit) Bananas are great if you get leg cramps, btw. I used to get them when I was on lasix fluid medicine. It depletes the potassium.
(09:38:10) (Raleigh) so i do
(09:38:21) (ron) lol
(09:38:44) (Raleigh) ok you eat em up
(09:38:48) (Raleigh) i wont
(09:39:00) (Raleigh) im not a chimp
(09:39:01) (merri) your choice
(09:39:02) (Raleigh) :)
(09:39:05) (ron) lol
(09:39:10) (Raleigh) lol
(09:39:36) (merri) they are considered by many as a "wonder" fruit!
(09:39:41) (Qrious) So.. is this used in the fight or flight responce Nick?
(09:40:01) (Raleigh) i studies nanaz in a big study ok / i know why ec said avoid them
(09:40:04) (Raleigh) .
(09:40:11) (ron) lol
(09:40:15) (Host-Nick) Tyrosine is one of the ring amino acids. That is its carbon grpoup attached to the Chiral carbon has a large ring of five or six carbon atoms attached in a ring, which makes it nonpolar.
(09:40:47) (Qrious) o.k.. nonpolar.. to what purpose?
(09:40:54) (Host-Nick) Tyroaine is a precursor of adrenaline, yes.
(09:41:01) (Qrious) oh.. o.k.
(09:41:37) (Raleigh) dont argue with me when you dont know ec as i do pls
(09:41:58) (Qrious) are you talking about the ionic responses with tyrosine Nick?
(09:42:00) (merri) I'll continue to eat them every day
(09:42:07) (ron) lol
(09:42:09) (Raleigh) 'BANANAZ ARE TO BE AVIODED
(09:42:10) (Raleigh) OK
(09:42:10) (merri) they are good for most people
(09:42:13) (WalksInSpirit) LOL
(09:42:23) (Raleigh) CAYCE SAID TO AVOID THEM
(09:42:25) (merri) disagree with that Ral
(09:42:25) (Raleigh) OK?
(09:42:29) (Raleigh) ty
(09:42:31) (ron) lol
(09:42:34) (ron) gee...
(09:42:47) (Qrious) come mr. tally man , tally me banana.. daylight come an me one go home.
(09:42:52) (Host-Nick) Raleigh, get up and loosen your spine, take a deep breath, you are too bent over the 'puter. :o)
(09:43:02) (Gordito) aMEN
(09:43:05) (merri) lol
(09:43:08) (Raleigh) great
(09:43:10) (Qrious) not enough nanaz Nick.
(09:43:24) (merri) see they even write songs about banana's lol
(09:43:25) (WalksInSpirit) Yes, we have no bananas... we have no bananas to-day...
(09:43:27) (Raleigh) all 7 chackraz at FULL PWR
(09:43:29) (Raleigh) GOD
(09:43:42) (ron) lol WIS
(09:44:25) (Host-Nick) Valine is beneficial for the liver, and gall bladder, and can be useful in curing the amino aicd imbalances which result from large amounts of drugs being put into the system, like chemotherapy for example.
(09:44:31) (ron) can anyone give a name of one of the banana republics?
(09:44:39) (Qrious) losing.. full power.. system , overload.. crashing.. Scotty.. you must use the impulse engine to escape.. He's dead Jim.. oh.
(09:44:47) (ron) lol Q
(09:46:28) (lilith) now, back to the real purpose of this chat..........Nick??????
(09:46:45) (Host-Nick) Dietary sources of valine are dairy, meats, mushrooms, soy, and peanuts. However too high amounts of valine may lead to itchy skin and hallucinations!
(09:46:52) (Qrious) so it counteracts radioactive materials Nick.
(09:47:04) (Host-Nick) It would help yes
(09:47:15) (Qrious) wrong kind of mushrooms.. mostly huh.
(09:47:43) (Qrious) ichy skin I mean.
(09:47:59) (Cheryl) Hmm, I seee Halo's around lights & I'm scratching like there's no tomorrow! lol
(09:48:05) (lilith) Nick - missed the beginning, sorry - what is "valine", please?
(09:48:10) (Host-Nick) Yes the wrong type of mushrooms might mimic your norepinephrine neurotransmitters and give your nervous system a really good turn on. :o)
(09:49:16) (Host-Nick) Valine is an essential amino acid.
(09:50:08) (Host-Nick) OK, has anyone any amino acid questions?
(09:50:28) (Qrious) its good for your hair and nails.. anything else Nick.
(09:50:35) (Cheryl) How much is too much? Nick?
(09:51:14) (tim) ok, i just did a search on the word banana in the cayce readings
(09:51:26) (tim) he does not discourage them at all
(09:51:30) (Host-Nick) It does not say, I suspect it dependson your age, helath and the rest of your amino acid balance profile.
(09:51:54) (merri) when you have itchy skin and hallucination s Cheryl!
(09:52:10) (Qrious) so.. no matter what.. we should pay attention to our acid intake.. as well as our alkaline.
(09:52:21) (Cheryl) ty, Merri, I will keep a Haloed Eye out for it, lol
(09:52:23) (Qrious) cause they balance each other out.
(09:52:29) (Eileen) working on that now Qrious, confusing
(09:52:32) (Bill) why is that Q?
(09:52:42) (merri) lol Cheryl
(09:52:45) (Qrious) cause one may overtax.. another.
(09:52:58) (Qrious) and cause an imbalance Bill
(09:53:10) (Bill) alcaline diet provides the necessary amino acids
(09:53:11) (Eileen) but how does one count the 80% in relation to the 20%?
(09:53:18) (Qrious) when we sleep too much.. we had an overload of tyrozine.
(09:53:54) (Qrious) is the 20 the amino.?
(09:53:57) (Host-Nick) Note well: L-Valine is a branched amino acid like L-leucine and L-isoleucine. These in supplemental form should be taken in the ratio of 2 miligrams of leucine; 2 miligrams of valine and 1 miligram of isoleucine.
(09:54:20) (merri) we learned it was 60 40 Eileen
(09:54:31) (Eileen) the acid is the 20%, usually meats, etc
(09:54:53) (Eileen) an update on Cayce, merri?
(09:55:17) (merri) ARE Scott from the ARE clinic gave us those figures
(09:55:23) (karen) right Q
(09:55:32) (Eileen) what made him change, I wonder?
(09:55:42) (Qrious) so eat two taters and one burger.
(09:55:49) (Bill) 3 above for every one under
(09:55:57) (merri) change from when?
(09:55:57) (Qrious) with lettuce and maters.
(09:56:06) (Qrious) cheese optional.
(09:56:21) (Eileen) from Cayce's 80% a;lkaline to 20% acidic
(09:56:29) (karen) no kazu , that's final don't ask others u know darn right well cannotafford it.
(09:56:37) (Qrious) what say you Nick.. on the percentage?
(09:57:02) (merri) 60/40 are the only figures he ever gave us that I'm aware of
(09:57:25) (Eileen) Cayce has always said 80/20, merri
(09:57:29) (Leon) Q check out Eileen for the answer
(09:57:38) (Bill) 80-20 are Cayce's optimal suggestions
(09:57:38) (Host-Nick) OK lets give the subject of L-tryptophan a start. L-tryptophan is an essential amino acid. This means that the body cannot manufacture it itslef except with great difficulty. Why the ignoramuses at the FDA wish to outlaw its sale in the USA is incomprehensible.
(09:59:07) (Host-Nick) L-tryptophan is critical in the production of vitamin B-3, niacin. It is used in the brain to produce the neurotransmitter serotonin, which is responsible for proper sleep patterns.
(09:59:27) (Cheryl) I read somewhere along the lines that there were underhanded characters that wished to cast a shadow of deceipt pver the Tryptophan controversy.
(10:00:13) (Cheryl) So it got pulled off the shelves of your local Generic Nutritional Centers.
(10:00:16) (Host-Nick) L-tryptophan is used to release growth hormone, as well as being used in tissue repair.
(10:00:35) (Eileen) loved its sleep effects
(10:00:47) (merri) why is it being pulled off the market?
(10:01:08) (karen) try melatonin
(10:01:28) (Eileen) good idea, thanks karen, probably have some around here somewhere
(10:01:49) (Leon) melatonin does the job of a good nights sleep
(10:02:08) (Eileen) wonder why I had forgotten about that?
(10:02:08) (Host-Nick) L-tryptophan in other countries has been used for conditions ofmigraine headaches, reducing the effects of nicotine promoting heart health combating depression, insomnia and a mood stabilizer.
(10:02:11) (Qrious) cause if it works.. then we will buy it.. if the gov't knows that.. they will ween us on samples to get us hooked and charge us an arm and a leg for it.
(10:02:18) (Cheryl) Unreputable manufacturer's with no claim & their inferior product was found to be bogus.
(10:02:30) (Barnma) eating correctly, exercise and good living help with sleeping also
(10:03:00) (Qrious) so exercise to exhaustion will help sleep.
(10:03:07) (Eileen) wow, Barnma, that mean I have to give up all my bad habits?
(10:03:12) (Host-Nick) One test with L-tryptophan caused reactions which were found to come from an allergen in the capsule which contained the supplement, not the L-tryptophan itself.
(10:03:41) (tim) Nick, how many suppliments does your research lead you to believe are helpful?
(10:04:09) (Barnma) it helps Eileen, especially stress levels......meditation is good, also a good laugh, oh and if you can ship hubby and kids off on vacation so you have the house to yourself, that works wonders.....lol
(10:04:57) (Qrious) the husbands job is to keep the children from driving the mom crazy.. I how I learned it.
(10:05:08) (Host-Nick) I have not researched supplements yet, I am only digging through the biochemistry to set things on a firm foundatipon so we all know what we are reading and taking when our medical practitioners recommend things.
(10:05:15) (lilith) and when I"M too stressed, Eileen, from having the house to myself, with no noise, no fun - ship the family off to me so I can enjoy them!
(10:05:20) (Eileen) Barnma, I have the racing mind of a person with 5 air planets in their chart
(10:06:01) (tim) Ahhh. Thought these elements were taken as suppliments.
(10:06:12) (Qrious) deflate them and bring em
(10:06:16) (lilith) Nick - do you feel we can trust most health food store people with questions such as these? and get the right answers?
(10:06:18) (tim) E.g. tyrosine
(10:06:21) (Barnma) Nick, that is great, I have to watch closely what they prescribe for hubby, it is good he is chemist and knows how these things work.....we have stopped problems before they start with a working knowledge of the compounds of the meds
(10:06:22) (Qrious) back to earth.
(10:07:02) (Eileen) yep, Barnma, docs don't want to listen sometimes
(10:07:07) (Host-Nick) They are found in foods, however perhaps next week we should review which are the difficult amino acids to absorb, and which ones do vegetarians need to either supplement or consume certain foods for.
(10:07:20) (lilith) Barnma - have friend, PhD chemistry/somethng else - big shot at pharmeceutical company - says no member of HIS family will ever take any of the meds he works on!
(10:07:28) (Eileen) that would be great Nick
(10:07:34) (Qrious) if you really want a doctors attention.. tell him you don't have insurance.
(10:08:05) (merri) please explain why lilith
(10:08:07) (Eileen) can't even get in to see him unless he knows what kind of insurance you have Q
(10:08:14) (Host-Nick) OK has anyone any amino acid questions?
(10:08:23) (Barnma) I firmly believe we should all be aware of the synthetic meds we use, and take a proactive stance in supporting more natural healing alternatives in our lives
(10:08:30) (Bill) actually you ask the doc. if he has insurance Q
(10:08:40) (Cris) One of Ken's doctors collects his fee before he will see any patients
(10:08:42) (merri) lol Bill
(10:08:46) (Eileen) tyrosine would always give me a terific headache, any reason why, Nick?
(10:08:48) (lilith) said they were too dangerous, especially Ibuprofen & the like
(10:08:56) (tim) Lilith, thats facinating....but is this individual conflicted about the value of his work, then?
(10:09:22) (lilith) Oh Cris - isn't that sad?
(10:09:52) (lilith) don't think it bothers him a bit, tim - he's retired, wife now has all sorts of problems - he is taking her to a naturopath
(10:09:53) (Host-Nick) Probably because you have a strong thyroid and tend to lots of activity. So too much tyrosine generates still more triipodothyronine and thyroxine in your thyroid.
(10:09:56) (Cris) It is no wonder some people can't get medical help we are lucky to be insured
(10:10:16) (Host-Nick) triiodothyronine, excuse :o)
(10:10:18) (Eileen) lilith, that is halarious (sp)!!
(10:10:37) (Eileen) thanks, Nick
(10:11:16) (Host-Nick) Next time you go to a doctor, act listless, complain of no energy and say you are depressed. In this way you might convince your doctor to give you an amino acid profile. :o)
(10:11:16) (Eileen) hey, Nick, it looked alright to me (like I actually knew how to spell it)
(10:11:46) (lilith) from this very old lady - if you want a sickening laugh, scan through the new Medicare thing that "will help you purchase your medications cheaper" - absolute trash
(10:11:48) (Qrious) naw.. they will just give you Prozac Nick..
(10:12:05) (Qrious) I found that beer is much cheaper.
(10:12:10) (Host-Nick) You could sell it on the black market, Qrious :o)
(10:12:11) (WalksInSpirit) LOL Qrious
(10:12:14) (Host-Nick) lol
(10:12:31) (ernie) somtime i think the people without medical insurance are better off
(10:12:31) (Eileen) or a thyroid scan, Nick
(10:12:33) (tim) there is a lot of that going around currently, lilith
(10:12:48) (lilith) yup, tim
(10:12:57) (Bill) Ernie i agree more insentive to stay healthy
(10:13:04) (Eileen) tend to agree a bit there ernie
(10:13:08) (ernie) i look a round and i see 3 to 4 drug store at every coner and they keep building thenm
(10:13:14) (Host-Nick) Does it not cost 50 dollars a month to be able to buy your medicine from a company? :oD
(10:13:16) (ernie) si
(10:13:21) (ernie) thats the trick
(10:13:32) (Qrious) cost me a whoppin
(10:13:38) (Qrious) bunch.
(10:14:09) (Qrious) hundred dollars for Vitorin, and the others I need to stay alive with.. lol
(10:14:26) (Qrious) almost like I am payin' rent to live.
(10:14:28) (Eileen) what is Vitorin?
(10:14:29) (Bill) my pills are real expensive order the organic almons from Cal.
(10:14:47) (lilith) for ages, the only prescription drug I take costs me 19.51 a month - either I sign up for the new Medicare program to get that cheaper!!!!! of can be fined 10% of my Social Security check each & every month
(10:14:49) (Qrious) its a pill that helps cholesterol.
(10:15:14) (Host-Nick) An almond a day keeps the doctor away, more than an apple.... words to that effect in the Cayce readings.
(10:15:18) (lilith) Hey Q - that's about right - "paying rent to live"
(10:15:20) (ernie) i take bc
(10:15:24) (Bill) thought that would be oatmeal Q
(10:15:25) (ernie) it wooerk good
(10:15:30) (ernie) hu
(10:15:31) (ernie) lol
(10:15:42) (Eileen) oh, Q
(10:15:43) (ernie) im on penecilian now tho
(10:15:44) (Qrious) apples are getting more expensive than oatmeal Bill.
(10:16:03) (ernie) i got a dental infection getting better noe tho
(10:16:13) (Eileen) ok
(10:16:15) (Bill) Ernie i told you to be particular with the girls you go out with
(10:16:16) (WalksInSpirit) My doc tried to put me on a cholesterol pill once. I took it for about 2 wks. i ached all over worse than ever, so I stopped taking it.
(10:16:17) (Host-Nick) Is it aching, ernie?
(10:16:24) (ernie) lol
(10:16:24) (Qrious) that dross cleaning method is now figured out.. and the farmers are capatalizing on it.
(10:16:53) (ernie) not no more ithink its starting to work im about the 6 th day
(09:12:49) (kazu) infinite?
(09:13:13) (Bill) 24 studied ones Kazu
