Journey Of A Soul Chat: 09-20-05
(01:28:13) (merri) ok shall we continue with Journey of the Soul
(01:28:29) (diane) ready
(01:29:31) (merri) last week we talked of Melchizedek
(01:29:43) (merri) In all of His incarnations from the first Adam to the Last Adam, Jesus was an embodiment of the universal Christed Consciousness, carrying the Word of God to man. But in Melchizedek-without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, not end of life, but made like unto the Son of God”- there was the first perfecting of the lower self as it merged into, and became one with, the Higher Self.
(01:30:27) (merri) To most biblical scholars, the Book of Job is viewed solely as an allegory, whose author remains unknown. Cayce dispels the common ignorance on both points. Job lived, we are told. His period in history is somewhat vaguely placed “before Moses was.” Before Moses but some generations after Abraham.
(01:31:11) (merri) The real surprise is to learn of the authorship of Job’s tale of temptation and perseverance in the face of adversity. Said the sleeping Cayce “Melchizedek wrote Job!”
(01:31:47) (merri) We cannot speak of the days of Melchizedek, who was one without days or years. Yet we can speak of the days of Job. Job dwelt in the land of Uz, which lay east of Palestine. Uz was a son of Aram, one of the sons of Shem, a son of Noah, and this was apparently the country in which Uz had settled with his kinsmen after the Flood.
(01:32:37) (merri) Job’s tale of woe is also a tale of victory. “If a man die,” Job asks, “shall he live again?” He speaks symbolically of a tree; “For there is hope of a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again, and that the tender branch thereof will not cease.”
(01:33:25) (merri) Job lives, in a sense, forever. He is immortalized in the imperishable Word of Melchizedek. But more than that, his earthly encounters and conversations with the Lord, not only comforted and strengthened Job in his sorrows but brought to him the lessons of
(01:34:30) (Raleigh) job has the 1st recorded reference to astrology ron / :)
(01:34:34) (merri) eternal life. The mortal Job died in time, of course as will the rest of us. But as an enlightened soul, the experience of death would have been an illuminating transition.
(01:34:53) (Raleigh) concerns orion i recall
(01:35:28) (merri) Meanwhile, here’s a novel notion. It may startle the mind at first, though its logic is impeccable. Indeed, the likelihood of its reality looms increasingly large upon proper reflection. Consider, if you will, the possibility that Job may have been a reincarnation of
(01:36:08) (merri) Abraham, and that Melchizedek, in his concern and love for this chosen servant of the Lord, moved through time and space to be at hand when the patriarch came into the earth again to meet what he had sown, as every soul must do.
(01:36:50) (merri) interesting thought?
(01:37:18) (Raleigh) well i feel this may be true merri / lords soul is woven though all script
(01:37:21) (merri) In this way, Melchizedek was able to do personal battle in the earth with Satan and lend direct spiritual assistance to Job through the severe testing he was to endure as a karmic carry-over of his shortcomings as Abraham. (For Job, we are told, was born a perfect man, and it was not as Job that he had sinned.)
(01:38:20) (merri) As Abraham, the patriarch had a high calling. Yet he not only jeopardized his sacred mission on several occasions through disobedience and wavering, but displayed impatience with the Lord when he felt that the latter’s promises were too slow in being fulfilled.
(01:38:31) (Raleigh) i didnt know of lot being born perfect / ty merri
(01:39:24) (merri) Patience, as every reader of the tale knows, is what the story of Job is all about. That and consistency. In the end, not only was Job’s health restored to him, but all that had been deemed “lost” came back in abundance, so that the latter days of Job were better than the first.
(01:40:36) (merri) We turn now to our psychic source and his favorite text, the Bible, to close this chapter of our journey with some brief insights and observations. They concern those several incarnations of the Christ between His mystical appearance as Melchizedek and His triumphal entry as the humble Nazarene.
(01:41:20) (merri) Of Joseph first.
(01:41:39) (merri) Sold into bondage by his own brothers, he later used his high position in Pharaoh’s court not to wreak vengeance upon them in their hour of dire need and humble supplication, but to extend salvation-not only to his starving brethren, but to all of Israel. It was the way of the Christ, as opposed to base human instinct.
(01:42:38) (merri) Finally, we learn that the tender bond of affection between Jacob and his favorite young son found repayment in kind in the life of Jesus. For Jacob reincarnated as the beloved disciple, John, youngest of the twelve, who leaned on Jesus’ breast at the Last Supper.
(01:44:05) (merri) And Joshua? Cayce describes him as prophet, mystic, and leader, as well as the “mouthpiece of Moses,” thus playing a far more crucial role than is generally accorded him-a role intentionally muted perhaps, as was ever typical of the Christ in His earthly sojourns.
(01:44:59) (merri) On the other hand, the spiritual might Joshua was capable of invoking on the side of righteousness was fearful. It is most powerfully exemplified in the biblical account of the day the Sun stood still upon Gibeon, and the moon stayed its course in the valley of Ajalon, even as Joshua commanded of them until the battle against his enemies was won.
(01:45:54) (merri) Of Asaph, there is much that might be said of an esoteric character. Let it be noted that Asaph, dear to the heart of David as a trusted seer and adviser, as well as a leading musician in his court, was the known composer of a number of the more prophetic psalms. He probably authored, as well, that mystical trio of psalms, the 117th, 118th, and 119th. The first of these is the shortest chapter in the Bible, the last-named is the longest.
(01:47:01) (merri) he latter consists of 22 sections, based on the 22 letters of the Old Hebrew alphabet, supposedly given to Abraham by Melchizedek. Each of the 22 sections is comprised of 8 verses. If we look back at Psalm118, our attention may be expected to focus on verses 8 and 22.
(01:47:49) (merri) The former tells us that it is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man. The 22nd would appear to carry the prophetic imprint of the Master himself, in that incarnation as Asaph. It is often quoted as a reference to the Christ: “The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner.”
(01:48:48) (merri) Finally, we come to Jeshua the scribe. Cayce says of him that he reasoned with those disenchanted Israelites who returned from captivity after Cyrus of Persia conquered Babylon in 539B.C. He sought to restore their shattered faith. In his role as a scribe, Jeshua busied himself in translating those books of the Bible that had been written, up to that particular time.
(01:49:21) (diane) take away from me thy scorn and contempt, for i have kept thy testemonies. vs 22
(01:49:37) (diane) Ps 119
(01:49:42) (merri) One Christ, many lives. But ever serving others, teaching and practicing the precepts of the Law of One. An Exemplar to all.
