No Soul Left Behind: 08-06-07
(09:04:38) (~AutoGreeter) Good Evening. The Red Path Chat Room welcomes you to No Soul Left Behind Study, Hosted By GG (Lory).
(09:14:32) (@host-GG) We can chat after the text tonight, just in case I have to leave early, so I will start in just a couple minutes.
(09:17:01) (@host-GG) "The system always, as life itself, attempts to use the best it has to do the best it can with what it has to do with. Hence create a balance in the vitamins and in the amount of the necessary foods for creating a sufficient quantity of heat [calories], but also sufficient quantity of eliminating forces [such as fiber], see?" 642-1
(09:17:58) (@host-GG) Q: What foods do you suggest for improving regularity in elimination?
(09:18:57) (@host-GG) A: "Prunes or eggplant, or pie plant stewed [rhubarb pie] to be sure will assist.
(09:20:14) (Raleigh) what also helps with this bigtime as well is yoga excercizes gg /
(09:20:55) (@host-GG) These should be taken about once a week.
(09:21:23) (@host-GG) and . . . will work well together if they are taken about this often. 560-25 "Raw foods often [are] the foods which tend towards better eliminations; figs; pie plan prepare this in the different forms; senna leaves, senna pods, all of these may be parts of the diet at various periods.
(09:23:02) (~WalksInSpirit) Senna is what they now use in most over the counter laxatives.
(09:23:19) (@host-GG) Raw foods often [are] the foods which tend towards better eliminations; figs; pie plan prepare this in the different forms; senna leaves, senna pods, all of these may be parts of the diet at various periods. We will find as the ideals are set, what are your ideal eliminations?
(09:24:31) (Raleigh) ive not heard about ideals effectiing eliminations / :)
(09:24:43) (merri) LOL
(09:24:47) (Raleigh) :)
(09:25:06) (MarkH) thoughts are things
(09:25:08) (@host-GG) We will find as the ideals are set, what are your ideal eliminations?
(09:25:43) (Roz) new one for yu Ral!!lol
(09:25:49) (Raleigh) yup
(09:25:52) (merri) Cayce is at least consistent about ideals!!
(09:25:58) (Raleigh) i shall add it to the lists
(09:26:52) (@host-GG) "To keep the kidneys in better activity, about every Wednesday take watermelon seed tea. Crush the seed, about a half an ounce of same, put in a pint of water. Let this brew as tea. This may be strained and set aside, but do not keep longer, even in the ice box than two or three days; for this becomes then retroactive, of course, by the action of air and of properties that would be in the same
(09:27:34) (@host-GG) location throwing of their emanations. It is better that it be put in a bottle and corked, even in the ice box, when kept at all; but warmed to be taken. It would be taken once a week for several weeks, not to overflow but to make more of an activity in these eliminations.
(09:28:09) (@host-GG) "The diet should be wholesome but not too rich foods at any time; that is, not the fats of meats. 3195-1
(09:28:43) (@host-GG) "Do these as we find for the better conditions of this body." 569-25
(09:28:47) (Raleigh) cayce also did suggest not much spices
(09:29:20) (@host-GG) Q: Are desserts a no-no, or are some sweets acceptable?
(09:29:56) (ron1) A long time ago, I ws told I was sweet...
(09:30:07) (Raleigh) you still r
(09:30:33) (Raleigh) to stay young keep sweet cayce said / :)
(09:31:22) (Roz) location throwing of their emanations?
(09:31:31) (@host-GG) A: "Never very much of any confection or pastry or cake. 3195-1 When sweets are taken, we find that honey or maple sugar, or candies made with beet sugar, are preferable to cane sugar.
(09:32:02) (@host-GG) "Eat honey in the honeycomb as a sweet, and be sure there is the comb in most of that eaten; for this, with other conditions, will assist in better purifying through the alimentary canal, for it acts as an aid to better conditions, "Eat honey in the honeycomb as a sweet, and be sure there is the comb in most of that eaten; for this, with other conditions, will assist in better purifying through the alimentary canal, for it
(09:32:21) (@host-GG) I repeated that twice, just for our honeyman. :-)
(09:32:44) (@host-GG) and will not disturb the pancreas and the kidneys; but works better with corn bread or whole wheat bread, that are better as breads than the white bread." 569-25
(09:33:10) (@host-GG) Q: Your diet suggestions, unless one likes lots of red meat and French fries, seem less restrictive than some other diets that are quite strict.
(09:33:34) (@host-GG) A: "Do not become so diet-conscious as for the diet to become master, rather than the self being master of the diet." 2454-1
(09:34:05) (@host-GG) A: "In the matter of diet itself, we would have this as an outline, though ~~ to be sure ~~ this may be altered from time to time to suit the tastes of the Body: 840-1
(09:34:38) (@host-GG) Q: What do you say to people who east sensibly and don't need to lose weight?
(09:35:01) (@host-GG) A: "Eat what the appetite calls for ~~ and whatever it calls for; but don't overload, of course." 696-2
(09:35:08) (ron1) You must be doing womething right...
(09:36:56) (@host-GG) Chapter V Part 2 of 2 - The Cayce Diet - No Soul Left Behind
(09:37:06) (Raleigh) :)
(09:37:43) (@host-GG) Q: You cautioned about eating heavy foods while under stress. Is our mental outlook a factor to consider when eating?
(09:38:10) (@host-GG) A: "Keep in that of constructive thought; because, to be sure, the thoughts of the body act upon the emotions as well as the assimilating forces. Poisons are accumulated or produced by anger or by resentment or animosity. Keep sweet! 23-3
(09:38:20) (@host-GG) That keep sweet is just for Ral. . . . :-)
(09:38:26) (Raleigh) :)
(09:38:46) (@host-GG) "The demonstration to be made is better cooperation in body, mind, and spirit or soul of the entity. Thus, as has been given: Definite decisions in self as to attitudes towards all activities of body, mind, and purpose, or the choosing of the ideals.
(09:39:15) (@host-GG) In choosing same for the body, don't trust to the memory don't trust to the thinking that 'this I believe,' for you change it often, but write it down: Body, Mind, Soul. Begin with the soul, what is your ideal? The answer must be within self and of Jesus, the Christ. This, to be sure, is first, last and always.
(09:39:37) (@host-GG) "Then, what is the ideal mentally? This should be: How much meditation, how much application, how much appreciation. These as we find, may be subdivided or, as changes come each day, rub out and change. What is the mind and the spirit as referred to body ideal? See the body perfect in vision, in thought, in purpose. This is now the purpose of physical, not purpose of the mental." 3051-6
(09:40:03) (@host-GG) Q: So, it is not only what is on our dinner plate that affects our health but what is on our minds while eating, especially if we are in an unhappy emotional state. Some things are bound to set us off, so what do we do?
(09:40:26) (@host-GG) A: "Beware of those influences, then, when anger rules the tongue." 1347-1
(09:40:53) (@host-GG) He sure has a way with words, doesn't he? I love it.
(09:41:03) (Raleigh) yes
(09:41:50) (@host-GG) Q: Many people today exercise in one way or another in order to stay physically fit. Some go to gyms and work out on machines, others jog or walk near their homes. What do you recommend?
(09:42:13) (@host-GG) A: "There's no exercise better than walking or rowing or [walking while playing] golf!" 257-200
(09:42:33) (Cris) Amazing how food can become comfort in unhappy times for some people
(09:42:41) (@host-GG) Q: How far should we walk every day?
(09:42:58) (@host-GG) A: "Whether it's a mile or a step, do that which makes for a better 'feel' for the body; getting into the open! Know something of nature. How many kinds of trees do you know? . . . How many kinds of birds do you know? , . . Do you know the call of any? Interest self in all nature!" 257-204
(09:43:21) (@host-GG) Q: Many of us walk a lot in our work. Does that count, too?
(09:43:39) (@host-GG) A: "There should be more exercise, but this is very good. Walk a good deal in the sunshine. 257-238
(09:43:56) (@host-GG) "Regular periods of walking and regular periods for the setting up exercises would be very well for keeping the body trim or preventing abdominal growth or on any portion of the body. Stretch the body as a cat would stretch. This the best exercise to keep body in proportion." 5271-1
(09:44:15) (@host-GG) Q: What other exercises are helpful?
(09:45:14) (Raleigh) just a sec gg
(09:45:19) (@host-GG) A: "The exercises should be of a specific nature. Mornings, exercise the upper portion of the body ~~ head, neck, shoulders ~~ rotation of head, back, forward, side, circle ~~ both ways ~~ at least eight to ten times, and take time to do it! Also in the evenings, when ready for retiring, the circular motion of the body below the
(09:45:40) (Raleigh) as a cat moves right / i have found in my yoga moves ---
(09:45:43) (@host-GG) diaphragm, so that the muscles of the abdomen and of the locomotories in the lower portion of the body may be relaxed sufficient that the body will rest easier. 5459-4
(09:46:19) (@host-GG) "So, as we find, if the exercises that are not of too strenuous a nature taken consistently morning and evening, for two, three, four minutes, we would find quite a change in the reactions. Of morning they would be in this manner:
(09:46:39) (@host-GG) "Upon arising, standing erect, stretch slowly, easily, the hands as high above the head as possible. Bending forward without bending the knees, three, four, five, six, eight to ten times, slowly, not exercising too heavily.
(09:46:41) (Raleigh) how a cat pushes 1 arm then another / twisting your back like/ as you crawl say / this i found feels so good it cant be bad / tx gg
(09:47:11) (Raleigh) and yes cris i found food a comfort for the first time in my life this year
(09:47:12) (@host-GG) When raising the hands, rise gently on the toes, you see. Inhale as the body stretches itself upward. Exhale through the mouth as the body bends forward.
(09:47:20) (Raleigh) all in moderation hon
(09:47:46) (@host-GG) "In the evening, alter the exercise to this, just before retiring! Begin with the head and neck exercises, preferably with the hands upon the hips. Turning the head one, two, three times to the left, gently. One, two, three to the right. One, two, three to the front.
(09:48:07) (@host-GG) One, two, three to the back. Then circulate the bodily forces from the waist almost in the same way and manner, but with the hands upon the hips, in each of those. Then rise upon the toes and stoop one, two three times. These done consistently, persistently.
(09:48:39) (@host-GG) "These exercises constantly taken, we will find we will ~~ with the activities of this body ~~ through the other influences that have been given and are being used ~~ make for a change that will make for the greater helpful forces for this body." 877-13
(09:49:11) (@host-GG) Q: Many of us have a hard time balancing our lives between work and pay, for example, or between family and occupations, all of which affects our health. What advice do you have on this concern?
(09:49:37) (@host-GG) A: "These [conditions] arose as a result of what might be called occupational disturbances; not enough [time] in the sun, not enough of hard work. Plenty of brain work, but the body is supposed to coordinate the spiritual, mental and physical.
(09:49:59) (@host-GG) He who does not give recreation a place in his life, and the proper tone to each phase ~~ well, he just fools self and will some day . . . be paying the price." 3352-1
(09:50:35) (@host-GG) Q: I'm sure that's true, for sometimes we get driven by ambition, nor realizing that a different attitude is essential for a better life. But how do we correct such imbalances?
(09:50:55) (@host-GG) A: "Budget the time, so that the spiritual and mental has its periods of recreation. Budget so that the mental has those relaxations, those periods of stimulation, those periods of social activity that are ever creative. These keep a balance. 257-52
(09:51:19) (@host-GG) "The attitude of the body should be kept in that direction of using the abilities in optimistic and creative thought or activity. These should bring the better conditions for the body." 3195-1
(09:51:51) (@host-GG) Q: Some people hold down two jobs just to maintain the standard of living they feel they need. Is more than one career advisable?
(09:52:24) (@host-GG) A: "It isn't [advisable] as careers; it is rather as a working together, a coordinating one [job] with another. When they are made [separate] careers, then they usually become combative one to another ~~ but [they] should be coordinating influences.
(09:53:01) (@host-GG) As the spiritual life of the individual, this may be termed one life; while the material activities may be termed another. But, if they are not made to coordinate throughout ~~ and that preached in one direction and not lived in the activities ~~ then sooner or later one or the other must bring destructive forces.
(09:53:33) (@host-GG) "Do not become a crank on any subject! Do not allow self to be led entirely astray, but keep self well-balanced in the material activities, the mental activities and mental abilities, acquainting self with what is going on in the material world, the mental world, the social world, and using same ~~
(09:53:57) (@host-GG) ~~ not altogether for self's at-vantage, but that the body may be, in its abilities in every sense, the better able to serve and manifest ~~ through the activities of self ~~ what it would worship in its inner shrine." 342-1
(09:54:11) (MarkH) thanks you Lory,...Blessings All
(09:54:38) (@host-GG) Q: Western civilization has produced many so-called labor-saving devices, but we seem to be working more hours instead of fewer in order to pay for them.
(09:55:04) (@host-GG) A: "All work and no play is as bad as all play with no work . . . Mentally and physically there should be relaxation for the body for the best mental, physical and material development. 297-2
(09:55:51) (@host-GG) "There is more to life than to live, and a success must be one in which the entity may grow in understanding and in knowledge. It must be one in which grace and mercy and truth have been and are the directing activities;
(09:56:13) (@host-GG) ; else regrets, in the home, in the associations, may be the part of the entity's experience. Keep self, then, be balanced. Budget your time more.
(09:56:37) (@host-GG) "It is true that one rarely succeeds who has many diversified interests, yet your activities and the dividing or your time should be diversified according to a definite undertaking in a specific direction,
(09:57:00) (@host-GG) that the choice your dealings with your fellow man may be the more thoroughly understood from every direction; and not merely diversified in the attempt to be a piddle in many undertakings. For he that makes material gains at the expense of home or of opportunities and obligations with his own family does so to his own undoing." 1901-1
(09:58:08) (@host-GG) Q: What else do you recommend for the average person to maintain good health?
(09:58:34) (@host-GG) A: "Steam or vapor baths ~~ combining witch hazel and the oil of pine, or oil of pine needles and with hazel [in the steam generator] will make for purifying, strengthening, cleansing of the body and skin.
(09:58:50) (@host-GG) Such a bath would be taken once a week or, after a bit, one a month, with a thorough rubdown following same, with massage or masseuse activity over the whole of the body. Thus we will find we will keep the body physically fit." 1276-1
(09:59:22) (@host-GG) oooh, doesn't that sound inviting?
(09:59:49) (@host-GG) Q: More and more people seem to be adopting that advice, for health spas are a rapid growth industry in America today, offering treatments for relaxation and stress reduction. What other benefits do you visualize from a vigorous massage?
(09:59:58) (merri) aromatherapy massage is wonderful!
(10:00:27) (merri) had one when I was in NY
(10:00:45) (@host-GG) A: "Keeps a better coordination between the superficial and deeper circulation . . . [When] there have been those tendencies for the activities in the alimentary canal to be choked . . . thus has caused the attempts of the eliminations, through the activity of kidneys, as well as the respiratory and perspiratory system, to attempt to take care of excesses created in the system.
(10:00:54) (merri) not only is it relaxing but stimulates blood circulation
(10:01:16) (@host-GG) This is a tendency, as would be a habit of any form in body forces of an individual entity.
(10:01:26) (Raleigh) some1 suggested lavendar is good merri
(10:01:44) (@host-GG) "When the sweat baths and the massages are taken, these excesses are eliminated that are never wholly eliminated by the body naturally but are left as part of irritations in portions of the muscular forces, or in the body proper itself.
(10:01:59) (@host-GG) They do sound wonderfully relaxing.
(10:02:16) (@host-GG) When these are thus eliminated, it also tends ~~ by that stimulation ~~ to turn the correct amount of activity to reduce or to get away from the habit [of poor elimination].
(10:02:54) (@host-GG) "So the cleansing of the colon at times also should be a natural condition, after individuals reach that age to when the activities of the body in a physical exercise are not such as to cause the real activity, slowing the peristaltic movements through alimentary canal.
(10:03:07) (Cris) I enjoy a full body massage. I feel up for over a month when I go to the right people
(10:03:16) (@host-GG) Hence . . . [massages] are well to be taken at times, and also these may be at times taken one or twice a week, then may be skipped for two to three weeks, depending upon the environs, the activity, and what has been the regular activity of the alimentary canal. That is, do not change habits by forming worse habits, but rectify all by keeping body forces coordinating one with the other." 257-252
(10:03:59) (@host-GG) We have less than a page to finish this topic, shall we finish?
(10:04:08) (merri) sure
(10:04:26) (ron1) ok
(10:04:41) (Cris) ok
(10:04:42) (@host-GG) Q: You mention cleansing of the colon. This may be relevant to the high risk that men face from colon cancer. Is it necessary to cleanse the colon in order to enjoy good health, and if so what do you recommend?
(10:04:48) (Raleigh) k
(10:05:17) (Raleigh) this is the best class i think gg / tx
(10:05:56) (@host-GG) But let there be an elimination each day through the alimentary canal. This should be taken (such an evacuation of enema) at the temperature of the body, and be sure there are salines or salt in same; teasthingyful to a quart and a half of water, and occasionally a level teasthingyful of soda combined with same. These will not produce irritations; these will not cause disturbances
(10:06:21) (@host-GG) or prevent the activity of the natural influences or forces of elimination but tend to create through the usage of same the strong, healthy activity of the walls of the alimentary canal ~~ and to create a better, a more equalized or balance movement even from the duodenum throughout the entire length of the alimentary canal. 1276-1
(10:06:51) (@host-GG) "The atomidine (Footnote: A commercial product Cayce recommended for such conditions as arthritis and skin problems.) taken once, twice, or three times a week ~~ two to three drops in water before the morning meal, not more than this at a time ~~ will also be beneficial." 2831-
(10:07:09) (@host-GG) Q: Can anything be done to prevent balding?
(10:07:18) (merri) LOL
(10:07:40) (@host-GG) A: "A good shampoo with tar soap, and then occasionally massaging into the scalp white Vaseline, will be effective. Occasionally the use, once a month of such crude oil is very good.
(10:08:11) (merri) Yikes! Go to it guys!!
(10:08:11) (@host-GG) A: "A good shampoo with tar soap, and then occasionally massaging into the scalp white Vaseline, will be effective. Occasionally the use, once a month of such crude oil is very good.
(10:08:49) (@host-GG) Sure changed the subject in a hurry, Merri, but this is the last of Chapter IV and we move on.
(10:09:21) (@host-GG) Cleanse this from the hair and scalp with a very small quantity of grain alcohol and lots of water, just enough alcohol to cut it, not enough to make the hair itself brittle, then using Vaseline following same." 5165-1
(10:09:34) (Raleigh) i chose to letter go merri / :)
(10:09:44) (@host-GG) A lot of gals could use this advice, too, Merri.
(10:09:58) (Raleigh) easier maint than when it was middle to my back /
(10:09:59) (@host-GG) Especially if they are having thyroid difficulties.
(10:10:00) (Raleigh) :)
(10:10:25) (@host-GG) Q: What causes change of hair color and thinning or baldness?
(10:10:50) (@host-GG) A: "Color of hair and the change comes from the glandular conditions. Age, of course, adds to the disturbance in the glandular conditions, but these are natural causes. And these, of course, may be stimulated or helped with that which adds to the activity of the glands that are exercised in the activity in same ~~
(10:11:10) (@host-GG) ~~ which is a portion of the thyroid; and the addition of foods, vegetables, that carry that stimuli and activity ~~ all those of the iodine content, leaving off the potashes that cause such irritations." 257-252
(10:11:34) (@host-GG) Q: Is it safe to take vitamins and advertised supplements for restoring gray hair to its natural color?
(10:11:53) (@host-GG) A: "Safe to take if it is desired ~~ they'll have no effect." 257-252
(10:13:30) (@host-GG) OK that finishes Chapter IV and the Diet. Next week we will begin 'Financial Advice' and I suspect we can all use a little of that.....
(10:13:58) (Raleigh) k
(10:14:14) (@host-GG) Now we are ready for chit chat, questions and answers from anyone who wishes......

(09:55:51) (@host-GG) "There is more to life than to live, and a success must be one in which the entity may grow in understanding and in knowledge. It must be one in which grace and mercy and truth have been and are the directing activities;
