A nice short dream dictionary is available at the ARE. They also offer free dream interpretation and chats on the subject. The dream chat is hosted by a lovely woman who is very intuitive, her name is Merri. She is there every Friday night. For a look at the Dream dicitonary go to this link. www.edgarcayce.org/dreams/dictionary.htmlFor a link to Merri's Dream chat go to our links page and look under ARE chat!

;D After I posted this I thought I would be remiss if I did not post about keeping a dream journal. (Don't smack my fingers Merri!) The idea of keeping a dream journal is most valuable for many reasons. Some tips I use and have seen to prove worth while are; 1.Keep your journal in your bed with a pen handy. If you wake up write it down as soon as possible. Dreams are from an altered state and once you re-enter this state of consciousnees you often loose the information of your dreams. 2. Look at your dream and try to do an interpretation and write this in your journal. Don't worry if it doesn't make sense to you at the moment. Use a dream dictionary and your intuition about the meaning of the dream. The more attention you give your dreams the more they will work with you. 3.Title and date your dream. Look for a key image in your dream and use it in your title. When you go back and review your dream at a later date this will make it easier to find. 4. Don't remember your dreams? Then write one down you do remember, start somewhere. Once your inner self sees that you are willing to take this seriously it will help you remember them. Take my word for it, you are dreaming. You can remember them and they are important. There are tons of things to talk about in dreams but I am out of quarters here. Maybe I will recruit some help!

I asked Merri for some help and this is what she sent. I really appreciate her insights and if you want to get more help from Merri you can go to the ARE chat on friday nights!
5 step approach to recalling dreams
1. Write down your dreams each day.
2. Begin by realizing that the FEELING you had about the dream is as important as trying to interpret the dream.
3. Watch for reoccurring symbols, characters and emotions in your dreams.
4. Begin a personal “dream dictionary” of these symbols and what their importance is to you.
5. Practice, Practice, Practice
It is also a helpful practice to keep your own “dream dictionary” listing symbols and what they mean to you.
4. Common elements in dreams. Fire-passion, destruction, purification. Water-spirit & emotions. Earth-practical and grounded. Air- mental.
Universal or archetypal symbols:
Lion or great cats-power or vitality
Birds- love, concern, messengers
Water – of the Spirit
Old woman or man – Higher Self
Car – physical body
Boat – voyage of life, a forthcoming trip
Bridge – passing thru material life, a transition
Candle – singleness of purpose and heart, enlightenment, wisdom
Colors – Black-obstruction..Blue-truth, healing..Gold-truth for the mind, powers of the soul..Green-development, growth, envy..Red-desires of the heart, meaningful..White-purity, innocence
Putting on of apparel is evidence of awakening of subconscious an its potential for psychic experience.
Common dream images from C. Jung and Cayce
Jung-Flying – Liberty and transcendence, achievement, confidence or ambition
Cayce – Wakening to higher, fourth dimensional understanding – desire to rise above things – astral travel
Snakes – Jung – Sign of conflict between conscious attitudes and instincts and a warning of such a conflict.
Cayce – Wisdom of all things – temptations – self's own condemnation of self.
Spiders –Jung-might represent a psychic world whose contents would long remain inaccessible to consciousness.
Cayce-Menacing-warning about a threat from certain other people who would attempt to take things from the dreamer

Dreams Are Really Amazing Really By Donald Jeffrey Everyone is advised to record and in- Eterpret dreams. Also, be sure to get up and record your dreams immediately, otherwise they may be lost and your inner self may give up. This is all part of having a strong intention to go along with good attention. But just recording dreams is not enough for me. I find it essential to make a summary of significant dreams on a regular basis for easy review. Many turn out to be precognitive and/or helpful. Very often the meaning becomes clear weeks or even months later. If you will make this effort, and use the resulting information, you will be truly cooperating with your dream source. Then you, too, will discover that your dreams really are amazing. T ;)o read the entire article go to: www.edgarcayce.org/venture_inward/05062002/dreams_are_really_amazing.htm

I often get side tracked while surfing the net. On our links page we have a web site that we love and have posted there. It's a huge page and tons of information that is worth reading. I don't know what made me click on this link from that page, I was looking for good stuff on American Indians. Spirit moves in strange ways. Cayce says to follow those things, not to squelch the Spirit. I cried most of the way through this story. Then I saw the reason I had found the page. I posted it below.
This is a perfect example of a dream that is not a dream, but an actual experience and a blessing. Death is not the end, and Phil actually met his wife again. Strangely enough I have experienced this myself, not with my mother or brother who have passed through the other door. But with a distant family member who had passed. In my dream I too realized he was dead. I had the opportunity to say good bye and hug my family member. Even though we were not close during his life, I was grateful for the chance to say good bye to him. I think in a strange way I comforted him by recognizing and acknowledging his new state of being. He seemed sad to have left the earth plane. It also gave me a deeper understanding of this man who had led a very difficult life. My lasting impression of him will be of a very sweet, loving man. Not the troubled soul we had seen on this earth. Incidentally, at the time of my dream we had not received the news of his passing. Death is as much a part of life as living. (EC) Blessings!

A Long Drive by Phil Konstantin
The local coroner contacted me an hour or two after Robyn died. The next day, Robyn's parents, her brother and I flew to El Paso. That night we all stayed in a motel in El Paso. I am one of those people who seldom remembers their dreams. In fact, I seldom even remember having had a dream, let alone what it was about. That night I had a very vivid dream. I was in my home and I heard a noise in the small room where I keep part of my library. I walked in and I saw Robyn. She was smoking. This was an on-going argument we had. I do not smoke and I did not like her smoking in the house. I told her to take the cigarette outside. Then it dawned on me, Robyn was dead. I asked her what it was like. She said, "it is better than you could ever imagine." We gave each other a big hug and we started to kiss. At this point my mind decided that this was "just too weird." I woke up. I am about the most level-headed and grounded person you will ever meet. I am very quiet about my religious beliefs. I have never received a "message" in any of the few dreams I can remember. I do not know if this was an actual message from Robyn. I can accept this as just a dream, but, if it was a message from Robyn, it was a wonderful act on her part.
