Dream Chat: 06-09-06
(09:11:51) (Peter_H) Merri & friends.... have a dream question for you-all.
(09:11:52) (host-merri) well tonight I have some thoughts for you from a new book I've been reading
(09:12:07) (host-merri) sure Peter ask away
(09:12:08) (Peter_H) Go ahead Merri
(09:12:14) (Peter_H) No, you first
(09:12:34) (host-merri) lol you go ahead I'm not ready yet
(09:15:07) (Peter_H) Ok, this is a bit wierd... but twice now, I have had a very strong wakeing dream with a big explosion.
(09:15:52) (Peter_H) About a year ago, it happened and the feeling was just like an overwhelming concussion in my head. It did not hurt, but it was like a very, very loud pressure explosion.
(09:15:53) (host-merri) do you remember any of the dream
(09:16:09) (Peter_H) No, I don't remember a thing, just a big bang.
(09:16:30) (host-merri) hmmmmm
(09:16:46) (host-merri) any physical problems
(09:17:11) (Peter_H) Anyhow, when it happened before, the same day, on the news... some American service people were killed in Afganistan by their own friendly fire.... and it just seemed to be somehow I had tuned into that tradegy.
(09:17:51) (Peter_H) I don't know if it is a fantasy or just trying to make logic out of it...... but it happened again a couple of nights ago.
(09:18:01) (Peter_H) No, no physical problems I know of.
(09:18:47) (host-merri) before the caught Zcowie? (spelling)
(09:18:56) (Peter_H) That's it.... just a big bang and I could feel the concussion and pressure of an explosion.
(09:19:03) (Spica) like a symbol of death of some old, uneeded emotional pattern in your own life that has been left behind...since you are able to relate to that other event
(09:19:14) (Peter_H) No, it was after the Zirquowe deal.
(09:19:45) (Peter_H) Spica... I need to think about that.... that is an interesting thought
(09:19:59) (Spica) yes
(09:20:31) (Spica) the event may have been a vague rememberance of your dream
(09:20:32) (Peter_H) Spica... you mean like a prior passing from this earth... I am remembering a big bang from that send-off ??
(09:20:44) (Spica) a subtle recollection
(09:21:04) (Spica) not your death...not at all
(09:21:10) (Peter_H) Ok, now I see.... however I have no recollecton of the prior dream.
(09:21:42) (Peter_H) The waking dream/explosion was so vivid, I got up and looked at the clock, it was 4:05 am.
(09:21:48) (Spica) the event, i am suggesting, was a subtle recollection, rememberance of the dream...like in some remote sense
(09:22:16) (Peter_H) I will think about it.... just cannot remember any dream to accompany the big bang.
(09:22:26) (Spica) something that caught your attention...that explosion would do that
(09:22:34) (host-merri) your conscious mind maynot remember the dream Peter but your subconscious does
(09:22:50) (Spica) and you, therefore search for the meaning...a stimulas
(09:23:11) (Peter_H) Could meditation or some other practice help me remember the dream.
(09:23:27) (Spica) ask for further clarification
(09:23:37) (Peter_H) Ok, I will do that tonight.
(09:23:37) (host-merri) ask for clarification before going to sleep
(09:23:46) (Spica) of the dream. and wait and see
(09:24:41) (host-merri) it may also be a prompt for you to work with your dreams Peter
(09:25:52) (host-merri) getting your attention with a big bang!
(09:26:38) (host-merri) any other questions?
(09:26:55) (Peter_H) ok, yes.. I have been nagging myself (internally) for weeks to get up at night and write down my dreams.
(09:27:15) (Peter_H) Maybe the big bang was a way of getting my attention??
(09:27:30) (host-merri) yes
(09:27:40) (Peter_H) Thanks, tell us abuot the book Merri
(09:27:49) (Spica) like "wake up" :)
(09:28:25) (host-merri) keep a pad and pencil by your bed Peter and write down anything you remember when you awake even if it's only fragments
(09:28:52) (Peter_H) OK.. I have a notebook, but I am lazy about writing in the middle of the night
(09:29:02) (host-merri) if you keep doing this you will start remembering more and more of your dreams
(09:29:29) (Lynn) You can take one of the fragments, merri mentioned and meditate on that fragment looking for anything else that comes into memory. You can then meditate on it and pull in the rest of the dream or the experience.
(09:30:14) (host-merri) yes that is also a good method
(09:30:25) (Peter_H) I will try that, during the day... when I see an object that reminds me of a dream... I start to remember the dream itself.
(09:30:42) (Peter_H) Thank you all...
(09:30:50) (host-merri) and be sure to write it down
(09:31:21) (host-merri) ok onto the book
(09:31:29) (Peter_H) ok
(09:31:30) (Lynn) Peter, another thing you can do to remember is to let your mind sort of blank out. Then ask your subconscious to give you the dream or a part of it. Then meditate on what you have. More will be given as Cayce says.
(09:31:57) (host-merri) The author of this book, The Dream Messenger, by Patricia Garfield, refers to the deceased we encounter in our dreams as the Dream Messenger.
(09:32:14) (Lynn) You can say, ´´Please tell me what I dreamed and just be still and wait for the answer. Then, say thank you
(09:32:38) (host-merri) Is death the end of communication with the deceased? Fold traditions hold that our ancestors and lost loved ones speak to us through dreams. Some cultures and religions that assert an afterlife say the dead become guardian angels, even gods, still others think of the deceased as lost souls gradually working their way toward a higher level of existence; yet others claim there is nothing beyond-dead is dead and that’s the end of it.
(09:33:04) (Peter_H) When do I do this... when I am meditating or just before I go to sleep??
(09:33:21) (Lynn) any time you want except when driving. lol
(09:33:38) (Peter_H) that is really funny.. I like it.
(09:33:51) (Peter_H) Can I do it while my boss is talking to me??
(09:34:06) (host-merri) Regardless of your beliefs about whether there is an afterlife or not, on thing is certain, you will dream about the person who has recently died.
(09:34:40) (host-merri) Are these dream images of the dead simply memories of them, infused by our imagination, to help us cope with grief during bereavement? Are they part of an internal process we employ to adjust to loss and assist us in solving daily problems? Or are dream images of the dead actual encounters with the spirit of the deceased?
(09:35:25) (host-merri) There is no way yet known to prove either position; that dreams about the dead are ‘real contacts’ or that they are images conjured by the dreamer to meet psychological needs. Regardless of what may be the facts, we know that bereaved people dream about the lost person, that their dreams are exceptionally vivid, emotionally packed, and may dramatically alter the life and belief system of the dreamer.
(09:36:18) (host-merri) Our relationship with the dead is eternal. In our dreams, the dead have messages for the living. The living also have messages for the dead that can be delivered in dreams. Conflicts left pending when the death occurred can sometimes find resolution in the meeting place of the dream world.
(09:37:32) (host-merri) The composite dream depicts the “journey of the dream messenger,” of which 9 elements are usually present . Not every dream about the dead contain all nine elements, but most dreams of this nature have several of them. In brief they are (l) the announcement, (2) the arrival, (3) the appearance, age, condition, and clothing of the dream messenger, (4) the attendants, (5) the message, (6) the gift, (7) the farewell embrace, (8) the departure, and (9)
(09:38:36) (host-merri) This universal dream about the dead will help you understand your own dreams about them. The dead live on in our dreams long after they die. We see them, yearn for them, talk with them, love them, fear them, hate them, or hold them. Sooner or later, you will have some of these dreams. Perhaps you have already. Here’s how it may transpire.
(09:39:17) (host-merri) The Announcement – First of all, you are likely to sense that something unusual is coming. Dreamers describe feeling an anticipation, an odd awareness just prior to the signal predicting the imminent arrival of the dream messenger.
(09:40:01) (host-merri) you may recognize some of these
(09:40:11) (host-merri) The announcement that the dream messenger is here occurs in a number of ways. You may hear: the front doorbell ringing or a knock at the door, or the telephone jangle, or a shuffle in the hall, a familiar cough or someone calling out.
(09:41:01) (host-merri) Other dreamers report seeing something first. You might observe: a door swinging open, a beam of yellow light emerging from the ground, a light at the end of a tunnel or dappled sunlight against a white wall.
(09:41:36) (host-merri) Or it may come thru the sense of smell: catching a whiff of aftershave or perfume or the fragrance of a favorite flower.
(09:42:05) (host-merri) By these various signs and sensations, an announcement is made that the border between the living and the dead is about to be temporarily suspended.
(09:42:37) (host-merri) The Arrival; The announcement having been made, the dream messenger arrives in the dream. You may see the deceased: stepping through an open door into your living room, entering an unlit hallway, walking in an illuminated passage in a mall, climbing a staircase, riding and elevator or escalator up, getting out of a car, strolling down the street
(09:43:42) (host-merri) You are just as likely to meet the deceased in an outdoor dream setting: walking in a grassy, green meadow, in a garden filled with flowers or vegetables, on the beach, in a river, at a fair, in a valley, on a footpath going home.
(09:44:33) (host-merri) The encounter with the dream messenger often takes place settings that involve transportation. You may bump into the deceased: in an airport in the waiting area, riding a train, on a bus, in a boat on a foggy lake, in a spaceship, inside a cart or car.
(09:45:26) (host-merri) These transportation settings are places of transition that underscore the journey that is being undertaken by both the deceased and yourself.
(09:46:30) (host-merri) Often the place where the dreamer meets the dream messenger has some barrier between the living and the dead. It may be a simple garden gate, a barrier at the airport, a glass partition, or some other boundary marker. You will find this element of a meeting place present in almost all of your dreams about the dead.
(09:47:12) (host-merri) 3. The Dream Messenger: Who is this dream messenger? The deceased, of course, but often the dead do not look exactly like themselves in dreams. Their appearance depends upon your feelings-your hopes and your fears-about the dead person, and upon the message that follows. Don’t be surprised if the deceased has a different appearance.
(09:47:59) (host-merri) 4. The Attendants of the Dream Messenger: Most of your dreams about the dead will contain the deceased and yourself. However, some dreamers see the dead accompanied by deceased family members or other deceased people known to the dreamer. Only a very few dreamers reported images of strangers in their dreams who seemed to represent death personified.
(09:48:52) (host-merri) Joseph Campbell might say they are some kind of border guardians. In any case, if they appear in your dreams about the dead, they need give you no cause for alarm. They are pictures of your feelings about death and the threat it represents.
(09:49:33) (host-merri) When you meet your dream messenger, with or without attendants, the threshold between the living and the dead has been crossed. Look carefully at the dead, their facial expressions, their ages, conditions and clothing-each aspect conveys clues to the messages they bring to you.
(09:50:59) (host-merri) ok that's all I had time to type next week will have numer 5 The Dream Message

(09:53:34) (HealingLady) I have heard it suggested to those who do not write down their memories that perhaps a tape recorder would work
(09:54:11) (host-merri) yes that works for some HL
(09:54:22) (dharmaqueen) any thoughts on that ?
(09:54:45) (mark) Merri,..what if at the end of a dream there is those that enter dream and at the end of dream they sak you which part did you like best?
(09:55:32) (host-merri) looks like the dreamer has some issues that need adjusting dharma
(09:55:34) (Cris) That sounds like the movie Angels
(09:56:03) (ephemeral) What about dreams of the deceased with no barriers present? I've had those.
(09:56:31) (Spica) an unknown person in the dream usually represents...
(09:56:32) (host-merri) they are not being recognized (darkness) snarling and tangled shows the emotions involved
(09:56:37) (WalksInSpirit) I was wondering that too, Ephemeral.
(09:57:01) (ephemeral) I've had sweet dreams of my deceased parents, but never barriers.
(09:57:12) (dharmaqueen) what of the cat ?
(09:57:24) (host-merri) it means you have already lifted the veil ephemeral
(09:57:47) (host-merri) barriers donot always appear

(09:58:26) (host-merri) unknown people in dreams usually represents aspects of ourself we do not recognize
(09:58:38) (Spica) nobody is dead..
(09:58:50) (Anonymous) bodiless, then
(09:58:56) (ephemeral) I agree with that, Merri.
(09:58:59) (Cris) They've taken on a spiritual body
(09:59:12) (Gordito) Those who allow the spirit of the dead to lead them are as dead.
(09:59:13) (mark) Cayce say's we can pray for the dead and help Anonymous
(09:59:18) (dharmaqueen) seems like you get a good response when you talk about death merri
(09:59:19) (Gordito) They die in the flesh.
(09:59:30) (Gordito) They reincarnate for the most part.
(09:59:36) (Gordito) Trying to0 gewt it right.
(09:59:39) (Spica) just like you had to

(10:01:11) (host-merri) anyone with a dream to discuss
(10:01:29) (Anonymous) remember Saul calling up Samuel, and the problems that caused
(10:01:30) (host-merri) or any questions on dreaming
(10:01:43) (dharmaqueen) the meaning of a cat or a person shapeshifting a cat is ....?
(10:02:19) (ephemeral) I'm dreaming in real-time now, dreaming of all things current. That's my new bit. I like it.
(10:02:20) (dharmaqueen) oe, in dreams cats mean ?
(10:02:39) (dharmaqueen) took the thought right outta my head mark
(10:02:44) (Anonymous) Cayce: being dead does not make one smarter, just dead
(10:03:01) (host-merri) it depends on the dreamer dharma
(10:03:04) (WalksInSpirit) Eileen, that is your own viewpoint. I respect your right to have it as I hope you'd respect the rights of those of us who have differing views to hold ours. Please don't preach in here. If I wanted to go to church, I'd be sitting in a pew right now instead of in a chat room where dialogue takes place.
(10:03:12) (host-merri) what do cats represent to you
(10:03:26) (Anonymous) well, thanks Walks, for allowing me to have a viewpoint
(10:03:37) (mark) there is no dead
(10:03:44) (dharmaqueen) not much merrri lol
(10:03:50) (Anonymous) not preaching, just stating my viewpoint
(10:04:12) (WalksInSpirit) yeah, I noticed. over and over and over...
(10:04:13) (host-merri) lol well ask yourself that question
(10:04:31) (Anonymous) well, Walks, thanks for having yours be the only one
(10:04:41) (dharmaqueen) too tired to think merri that's why I asked
(10:04:45) (Gordito) The new avatar
(10:04:53) (mark) where?
(10:05:06) (host-merri) personally I'm allergic to them so don't have kind thoughts about them
(10:05:17) (dharmaqueen) just one more week and I get my brain ba ck :)
(10:05:20) (WalksInSpirit) LOL I don't sit in chats with "brb" next to my name and never say a word, Gordy. ;-)
(10:05:21) (host-merri) have to avoid them
(10:05:38) (dharmaqueen) I hear that merri ty
(10:05:49) (host-merri) are you on meds ?
(10:05:51) (mark) let's don't start please

(10:06:56) (Anonymous) hard work dharma
(10:06:57) (HealingLady) thank you for allowing me to join this evening. I must go for now. Blessings to all
(10:07:07) (host-merri) Walks could you answer the question about shape shifting?
(10:07:54) (Peter_H) I've got to go to.. thank you host Merri... Walks take care, bye.
(10:08:31) (host-merri) any questions on the material posted
(10:08:36) (WalksInSpirit) And while we're exchanging dialogue, Gordy... we need to get something straight. Since you have been the singular voice of opposition to the chat topics here, I took it upon myself to contact Kevin Todeschi on the matter. I explained the manner of topic discussion to him in an unbiased manner. Kevin approved our topics here in chat. Final word on it: Approval from Kevin J. Todeschi on behalf of the A.R.E.
(10:09:00) (WalksInSpirit) All chat hosts were sent the e-mails of this exchange.
(10:09:11) (Gordito) I'm sure you did not explain what goes on fully.
(10:09:21) (WalksInSpirit) I'm sure I did.
(10:09:30) (Anonymous) wow, Walks, soon we will all just be doing your thing
(10:09:40) (WalksInSpirit) Ask any chat host. They know what was said.
(10:10:08) (Gordito) Then the guidelines were changed.
(10:10:16) (WalksInSpirit) No, they were not.
(10:10:26) (Gordito) They would have to be .
(10:10:28) (WalksInSpirit) Nope.
(10:10:39) (Anonymous) thought this was to be an exchange of ideas?
(10:10:48) (WalksInSpirit) All topic matter of each chat can be found in the ARE Press bookstore.
(10:10:52) (host-merri) you are the only one complaining Gordito
(10:11:15) (Gordito) Only due to the biasedness of it all.
(10:11:20) (WalksInSpirit) The ARE cannot tell someone not to discuss a book in their chat room that they are selling in their own bookstore.
(10:11:23) (host-merri) yes Eileen and right now it is Dream Chat
(10:11:49) (dharmaqueen) Wis what does the cat mean in a dream?
(10:11:57) (Anonymous) wow, yall sure have gotten predujiced, when did that happen?
(10:12:02) (host-merri) do you have a dream you would like to share?
(10:12:04) (Gordito) Lying and cheating to maintain that which is not in keeping with the Cayce Tradition and promotes the lowert se3lf nature in man.
(10:12:08) (Gordito) Not all.
(10:12:21) (WalksInSpirit) Is that an accusation, Gordito?
(10:12:24) (Gordito) But all of the teachings are soley ego based.
(10:12:41) (Anonymous) must watch my step, for sure, to be in line with the new policy
(10:12:46) (mark) i wouldn't like to be put on the spot in front of others
(10:12:53) (Gordito) If the guidelines were maintained we would not be having this discussion right now.
(10:13:17) (dharmaqueen) mperhaps later would be a better time good night everyone ty merr
(10:13:24) (Anonymous) sounds like when Hitler took over Germany
(10:13:48) (host-merri) Is death the end of communication with the deceased? Fold traditions hold that our ancestors and lost loved ones speak to us through dreams. Some cultures and religions that assert an afterlife say the dead become guardian angels, even gods, still others think of the deceased as lost souls gradually working their way toward a higher level of existence; yet others claim there is nothing beyond-dead is dead and that’s the end of it.
(10:13:53) (Gordito) But lessons are taught which do not correlate with the Cayce Material and they are noit used as a comaparative study, as stated in the guidelines, but upon their own merits.
(10:14:15) (WalksInSpirit) They are, Gordito. The fact that you are the singular voice of opposition, and that every chatter in here knows your only reason for coming here is not to exchange thoughts and ideas, but to disrupt the chats. This tels me that you are not getting a thing out of this chat room to further your spiritual growth at all.
(10:14:22) (host-merri) Regardless of your beliefs about whether there is an afterlife or not, on thing is certain, you will dream about the person who has recently died.

(09:54:11) (host-merri) yes that works for some HL
(09:54:22) (dharmaqueen) any thoughts on that ?
(09:54:45) (mark) Merri,..what if at the end of a dream there is those that enter dream and at the end of dream they sak you which part did you like best?

(09:59:18) (dharmaqueen) seems like you get a good response when you talk about death merri

(10:05:20) (WalksInSpirit) LOL I don't sit in chats with "brb" next to my name and never say a word, Gordy. ;-)
