"The Heart"
(08:01:50) (Host-Nick) We've brushed on the digestive system and the kidneys, so lets try and start with the heart.
(08:02:12) (WalksInSpirit) Sounds good!
(08:02:20) (Raleigh) home of the soul is it nick / :)
(08:03:14) (Host-Nick) Well, perhaps it is best to brush on everything for a start and then examine for a second time in more depth.
(08:03:40) (Host-Nick) Because without understanding the organs which interrelate we would not pick up much.
(08:11:16) (Host-Nick) In Tibetan medicine the heart is considered a valve and the lungs are the pump which drives the circulation.
(08:12:17) (Host-Nick) Since heart disease is the #1 killer in the industrialized world, most people know what clogging of the arteries means. :o)
(08:14:28) (Host-Nick) To understand cholesterol, a type of fat, we need to know that fats float since they are lighter than water.
(08:15:35) (Host-Nick) The best mixing occurs when the oil is heavy and liquid like olive oil or safflower oil, as opposed to light ans solid like bacon grease, french fry oil and fat on meats.
(08:16:44) (Host-Nick) This is why the HDL high density cholesterol is the preferred type, and the LDL is to be avoided since it is Light Density Lipid. Lipid being another name for fats.
(08:18:34) (Host-Nick) Now, one of the things that can happen is that a person's blod is too acidic. This means that the bile that the liver produces is not alkaline enough to dissolve the oils eaten during a meal.
(08:19:18) (Host-Nick) The proper oils do not get digested. This is another source of fat buildups in the arteries.
(08:19:48) (Host-Nick) The liver is constantly producing fats when it make glycogen out of sugars and carbohydrates for energy storage.
(08:21:32) (Host-Nick) The glycogen gets stored as fat. If this is the main source of oils and fats in the body, then we start having a buildup of light, non dissolvable fats instead of a balance of oils dissolving and emulsifying in the blood plasm.
(08:21:43) (Host-Nick) OK, questions up to here?
(08:23:14) (merri) is the only source of good cholesterol olive oil & safflower oil
(08:23:55) (Host-Nick) When there are fats floating in the blood, they tend to stick to the walls of the arteries and veins and restrict the flow of blood.
(08:24:28) (Host-Nick) No, most vegetable oils are beneficial, even castor oil, (but don't drink too much) :o)(08:24:49) (Raleigh) did that nick / to late / :)
(08:26:09) (Host-Nick) When choosing an oil, use an organic, non-solvent extracted oil, and make certain that if you cook in it that you do not exceed its cooking temperature. Never allow an oil to smoke. You will be eating acrylics, a carcinogen.
(08:26:42) (Bill) acrylics = plastic
(08:28:01) (Raleigh) bad oils and greases mess with the electrical in us as well ec sayz too nick
(08:29:09) (ccrystal) chinese cooking usually heat up the oil untill it smoke to stir fry
(08:30:01) (Raleigh) i didnt know of the acrylic part of this nick ty
(08:30:14) (Host-Nick) The heart has three circulation systems to feed.
(08:31:37) (Host-Nick) The first one is the pulmonary one, which receives blood through the right auricle draws it through the tricuspid valve and sends it towards the lungs.
(08:32:17) (Host-Nick) The blood is sent by a contraction of the right ventricle to the lungs to receive oxygen from the air breathed in by the lungs.
(08:34:16) (Host-Nick) Most smoker heart attacks will come in the tissue of the right ventricle. This is because the lungs are so coated with tar that the right ventricle has to overwork to push the blood through to receive the oxygen through the tarred over lung capillaries.
(08:34:56) (ccrystal) how do you control high blood pressure?
(08:35:30) (Host-Nick) This is of course in addition to the extra work the right ventrilce does pushing the blood through the tarred over pulmonary arteries and their fat and grease deposits.
(08:36:34) (Host-Nick) After this heroic journey the fully oxygenated blood returns to the left auricle where it passes through the bicuspid valve to the left ventricle.
(08:37:00) (BrightEyes) isn't bicuspid a tooth?
(08:37:19) (Host-Nick) The blood is then sent by contraction by the left ventricle to the rest of the body.
(08:38:05) (Host-Nick) It is also the name of a tooth, BrightEyes, make sure they specify which if you are told you need an extraction! :o)
(08:40:15) (Host-Nick) The heart itself also has its own circulation. The coronary arteries branch of the aorta, which is the large main artery taking oxygenated blood to the rest of the body. This circulation nourishes the heart muscle.
(08:41:31) (Host-Nick) The coronaries can be blocked either by smokers' tar buildup, or by fat deposits, or they can be blocked by blood clots or strange particles.
(08:43:32) (Host-Nick) The heart is composed of a special type of muscle, called the cardiac muscle. It looks completely unlike the other muscles in the body, being neither smooth, like the major organ tissue, nor striated like the voluntary muscles are.
(08:43:57) (Q) fibrous.
(08:43:58) (casa) alien tissue
(08:44:57) (dumbelle) does it look like the innards of a turkey?
(08:45:09) (Host-Nick) Critical to the heart's proper functioning is the presence of properly timed cardiac impulses.
(08:45:23) (casa) amen
(08:45:25) (Q) sinus node
(08:46:39) (Host-Nick) The heart initiates nervous system impulses through a specialized area of tissues.
(08:47:52) (Host-Nick) The sinoatrial node, located in the walls of the right atrium, sets the pace for heart contractions and functions as the pacemaker.
(08:50:12) (Host-Nick) It has a polarization/depolarization cycle every 70/80 times a minutes. This sets the rhythm, which is distributed through the nerve fibers known as the Purkinje fibers and by cell-to-cell transmission of impulses by the ventricula muscle cells.
(08:51:13) (Host-Nick) The impulses spread to the atrioventricular node AV a second area of nervous tissue located in the septum between the two atria.
(08:52:45) (Host-Nick) These impulses at the AV are amplified by fibers known as the Bundle of His, which is a grouping of Purkinje fibers.
(08:53:23) (casa) what about Hers, they got these fibres too?
(08:53:46) (Host-Nick) These fibres then divide into right and left bundles and penetrate the myocardium where they provide the impulses for contraction of the heart muscles.
(08:54:26) (merri) quite a complicated process going on here!
(08:54:27) (casa) so there really is no God, man did all of this himself
(08:54:58) (Bill) evellution cassa
08:56:10) (Host-Nick) The heart is a self-contained electrical system, whose proper timing of contractions and expansions is dependent on the blood itself. Since the blood is an electrical conductor and influences the generation of the nerve pulses in the fibers and their amplification at the bundles of His.
(08:56:44) (Cheryl) Then How is it possible for the heart to continue beating once the brain has stopped? Nick?
(08:57:04) (casa) not dependant on the brain, is it Nick?
(08:57:14) (Host-Nick) An electrocardiogram, monitors these pulses and this is what the doctor monitors when consulting your heart health.
(08:57:20) (Cris) it is dependent on the brain stem
(08:57:36) (Host-Nick) The heart generates its own electrical pulses, Cheryl.
(08:57:51) (Cheryl) Try telling that to a chicken that just had it's head chopped off.
(08:58:01) (Cris) as long as that functions even when the brain is gone it will beat
(08:58:05) (dumbelle) the blood is responsible for the impulses?
(08:58:22) (casa) abdominal brain?
(08:59:30) (Host-Nick) As long as the lungs are oxygenated and there is food enough for the heart muscle, and the kidneys can eliminate wastes and keep the blood alkaline the heart can function on its own.
(09:00:23) (Host-Nick) Unless the cause of death is a myocardial infarction (heart attack). :o)
(09:01:50) (casa) what about the abdominal brain, Nick?
(09:02:26) (merlin) abdominal aneurysms.... ? nick?
(09:02:27) (Host-Nick) Ah, the abdominal nervous system, perhaps that is best studied under the nervous system. :o)
(09:02:36) (casa) is praying related to brain?
(09:02:44) (Q) the insulin in your body should be maintained so that your kidneys don't overproduce cholesterol.. and clog your arteries.
(09:02:52) (dumbelle) must be casa
(09:02:58) (Cris) Prayer does work Belle - my husband is living proof of that
(09:04:00) (Host-Nick) It is possible to slow your heart down and speed it up with your mind. Yogis do this in mediation and there are other techniques, like biofeedback, Silva Mind Control, that can do this also.
(09:04:08) (dumbelle) glad to hear it Cris
(09:04:22) (Bill) after hearing all that complicated info Nick i'm surprized any of us are still kickin
(09:04:38) (Avatar) it is an easy thing to master nick
(09:04:45) (casa) if we had to do it Bill, we wouldn't be here
(09:05:14) (Q) it can't be mastered when you have arithmia though.. its out of your control.
(09:05:26) (casa) we can not even make a fart on our own, Bill
(09:05:40) (Cheryl) lol, casa
(09:05:52) (Host-Nick) The heart has its "first choice" of nutrients and stuff, since the coronaries branch off first from the aorta, geting the freshest blood with the best nutrients.
(09:05:56) (Raleigh) takes disiplin casa
(09:06:02) (casa) but again, there is no God, just evolution, so something like that
(09:06:40) (casa) so, does the heart get to choose before the brain, Nick?
(09:07:20) (Host-Nick) What does seem to influence the heart are emotions though. Things like adrenalin, when its time to "fight or flee"
(09:07:38) (Q) its kinda facinating casa.. if the arteries are becoming blocked.. the heart will grow new ones to bypass the old ones.
(09:08:03) (casa) yep, Q
(09:08:18) (merlin) and sometimes not / man intervenes
(09:08:20) (dumbelle) hey just like a river
(09:08:23) (patricia) i didn't know that Q
(09:08:28) (casa) folks coming back from strokes, where brain tissue has been killed
(09:08:42) (Raleigh) i do release adrenlin nick / in meditation preperation / i feel it
(09:08:45) (Cheryl) How is it possible to die of a broken heart? Nick? I rea a survey in a Christian journal once, that babies abandoned at birth who were never held or picked up died early. How is that possible?
(09:09:36) (Host-Nick) To salty and heavy blood also makes for a disruption of the heart rhythm. This is because not only does the heart muscle have to work harder, but also the blood is too conductive of electrical pulses. This affects the tuning cycle which becomes faster.
(09:10:18) (Q) stimulation possibly Cheryl.. or in Cayces readings.. the soul chose to leave.
(09:10:28) (casa) got to have a reason to live, Cheryl
(09:10:29) (Host-Nick) I have no idea, Cheryl, short of exposure. :o)
(09:11:08) (Bill) you can save your heart a few brazilian beats in a life time just by being physically fit
(09:11:20) (friend_to_mankind) hearts desire =reality
(09:11:35) (Q) not true Bill.. I was super healthy.. and still had a heart attack.
(09:11:54) (Host-Nick) The kidneys can affect the heart cycle, by not eliminating sodium. This speeds up the heart pulse rate and the strength of contractions. I think this is Addison's disease, if not treated it can be fatal.
(09:11:55) (casa) beg to differ, ftm, still got this belly
(09:11:57) (Q) my Cardiologists were blown away.. they don't know why either.
(09:12:23) (Q) well.. not true for me that is.
(09:12:26) (CoolRunningWaters) Cayce said those with allot of heart usually don't get heart attacks.
(09:12:35) (WalksInSpirit) Sometimes, as in my case, it's a hereditary cause.
(09:12:42) (friend_to_mankind) more desire is needed
(09:12:43) (casa) oxymoron, Q
(09:12:44) (merri) could it be genetic Q?
(09:13:18) (Q) nope.. genetic is a generic excuse... they just don't know.. never ran in my family ever.
(09:13:26) (casa) gave too much of your heart away, Walks, not enough left to function properly
(09:13:56) (casa) so, why did you do it Q?
(09:14:03) (Bill) maybe you needed a wake up call Q ?
(09:14:04) (WalksInSpirit) Medical science says otherwise, Casa.
(09:14:13) (Q) I do believe.. its because I harbored ill feeling for people for such and extended period of time.. I sorta poisoned myself.
(09:14:19) (WalksInSpirit) So does my family history.
(09:14:19) (friend_to_mankind) does hearts desire have an aching feeling that goes along with it?
(09:14:38) (casa) hey Walks, you are much above medical science
(09:15:07) (merlin) herbals , nick for heart problems.......
(09:15:13) (dumbelle) who knows how to create a miracle?
(09:15:26) (friend_to_mankind) my heart is torn
(09:15:41) (Q) Thoughts are things.. and as a man thinketh in his heart.. simple.. enough reason for me.
(09:15:44) (merri) read A Course in Miracles, dumbelle
(09:15:48) (merlin) hawthorn, foxglove.........
(09:15:54) (dumbelle) did merri
(09:16:00) (dumbelle) simple
(09:16:42) (Q) And I also believe God did this to me... I was too vain.
(09:17:09) (merri) As Bill suggested Q, A Wakeup Call!
(09:17:12) (casa) He does make us face ourselves, doesn't He, Q?
(09:17:23) (CoolRunningWaters) little or nothing is by chance
(09:17:50) (Q) it is easy for someone who lives in comfort to give advice to someone bearing a burden.. but when it is them..
(09:18:02) (Host-Nick) Do not stress your myocadial tissue, stress causes excess adrenalin production. :o)
(09:18:07) (Q) Its humbling.
(09:19:40) (friend_to_mankind) Yes Heal up our wounds bind out infirmaries bring us back into you Love where we have always belonged all Merciful and Kind Father
(09:20:04) (Host-Nick) OK it is now open chat, unless someone has a health question
(09:20:18) (CoolRunningWaters) I'll go along with that one friend\
(09:20:37) (casa) strokes, Nick, why?
(09:20:54) (casa) yes Nick, why do folks have strokes?
(09:21:14) (Host-Nick) Strokes develop when the blood supply is cut off. This happens because of constriction of blood flow.
(09:21:24) (Raleigh) blood vessels in brain get a clot
(09:21:25) (Raleigh) anurizm
(09:21:26) (casa) spiritual reasons?
(09:21:29) (Anne) what are stroks?
(09:21:38) (Q) do you think the Atkins diet could be beneficial to someone with heart ailments Nick?
(09:22:05) (Host-Nick) It can be due to a buildup of fats on the interiors of the arteries, a loose blood clot which worked its way into a blood vessel or by an aneurysm bursting.
(09:22:41) (Q) Will the apple diet.. clean out the cholesterol Nick?
(09:22:41) (Host-Nick) I personally think that the Atkins diet would cause long term damage Q.
(09:23:06) (Raleigh) yes atkins is incorrect i feel too nick
(09:23:13) (Anne) atkins i agree nick
(09:23:46) (CoolRunningWaters) Cayce provided a good dietary guideline.
(09:23:47) (Q) Is dross.. in the Cayce readings really refering to something in your blood Nick?
(09:24:20) (Raleigh) modern dietary are just now seeing ec was correct yes cw
(09:24:56) (dumbelle) why then can anti arthritic drugs give you stoke I wonder
(09:25:21) (Host-Nick) I think dross means wastes, the products of energy producing reactions which have to be cleaned up. And which the body's elimination functions can no longer ahndle.
(09:25:23) (Bill) thin your blood to the point it leaks through the ateries
(09:25:40) (dumbelle) Is precipitate like crystalalization ?
(09:26:20) (Host-Nick) Yes, it forms microcrystals and then looks for a place to coat, like the coronaries in the case of french fry grease. :oP
(09:26:29) (dumbelle) aha ty Nick
(09:26:30) (Q) so that would pertain to the intestinal and kidney/ liver functions then.. the dross cleanup that is?
(09:26:48) (Q) oh.. and the skin and lungs.
(09:27:06) (friend_to_mankind) get rid of the toxins, get rid of disease
(09:27:11) (Mandy) how do you remember so much Nick? amazing
(09:27:16) (Host-Nick) Yes, the liver has to filter, and there has to be "the coordination beteween the kidneys and the hepatic area" which was mentioned in the Cayce readings.
(09:27:17) (Raleigh) water q
(09:27:29) (dumbelle) you must really love what you do
(09:27:32) (Raleigh) take water as it is medicine ec sayz
(09:28:20) (Cheryl) I've been drinking cherrry juice now for about 4 mos, nick. And i don't feel the pain & stiffness in my joints, except when I got to work like a man at work, lol.
(09:29:09) (WalksInSpirit) Hey, that's good stuff, Cheryl!
(09:29:11) (Q) being ill at ease is dis- ease FTM.. as for the Cayce way to health.. it takes up alot of time and effort.. but yah.. I believe ya.
(09:29:19) (Host-Nick) Remeber to do the deep breathing, that massages the organs and assists the eliminations as well as the general circulations.
(09:29:24) (BrightEyes) oh wow, ill at ease
(09:29:31) (Raleigh) its true huh nick / ec said drink water as it is a medicine
(09:29:47) (Anne) nick is on a mission, one of those angels if you find his hidding place, he moves
(09:29:49) (BrightEyes) saffron tea is good
(09:29:54) (Q) To the lower regions of the lungs Nick... how.. with your back arched.. or what?
(09:30:10) (Raleigh) yes nick is an angel
(09:30:12) (Host-Nick) Half a gallon of good quality mineral water a day is essential for best eliminations.
(09:30:19) (Cheryl) ty, BrihtE, i'll have to try it one day when it's not so expensive. lol
(09:30:22) (BrightEyes) oh here we go
(09:30:27) (BrightEyes) apple diet, lol
(09:30:54) (Host-Nick) The apple diet?...........it has been a couple of months and it is apple season ;oD
(09:30:58) (BrightEyes) american saffron...$15.00 for a years worth of daily saffron tea
(09:30:58) (friend_to_mankind) repair the nervous system,so the toxins can start to be eliminated by the body
(09:31:03) (Raleigh) yup / after the 1st day im sick of them be / :)
(09:31:12) (Q) yah.. the apples are in season.
(09:31:28) (Mandy) I eat alot of nuts these days and fruit, I am glad that is what my body wants
(09:31:29) (Roz) yes bright Eyes
(09:31:33) (Raleigh) het walks you just did the diet huh
(09:31:45) (dumbelle) yes Cheryl 5 dollars a bottle
(09:31:47) (WalksInSpirit) Yep! I just did it a couple of days ago.
(09:31:50) (Q) they nervous and sypathetic system is reliant on the spinal adjustments aren't they FTM?
(09:32:03) (Raleigh) how ya feelin / good i hope
(09:32:09) (friend_to_mankind) boom Q
(09:32:34) (friend_to_mankind) that's what cayce was getting at
(09:32:38) (Host-Nick) The apple diet is the best way to start general detoxification of the body. It gives the body a day, or two or three (recommended) of rest from constant processing and storing.
(09:32:57) (Host-Nick) Remember raw apples are best
(09:33:16) (merri) organic
(09:33:20) (Q) I remember him saying baked apples were best.
(09:33:29) (friend_to_mankind) me too
(09:33:37) (Raleigh) grapes or oranges 4 days do the same ec sayz
(09:33:40) (Anne) apple sauce
(09:33:50) (Mandy) I cannot eat another apple after so many apple fasts
(09:33:58) (Anne) apple diet different
(09:34:02) (Raleigh) me 2 mandy
(09:34:08) (WalksInSpirit) I feel better. And my medications work better, too now.
(09:34:08) (Q) k.. don't mean to mince words.. apples anyway ya can get em.
(09:34:19) (friend_to_mankind) istopped when cayce said to
(09:34:24) (Raleigh) they are not recommended anyway except for the diet
(09:35:06) (Q) so an apple diet once a month religiously should make you generally healthy then I suppose.
(09:35:09) (Mandy) the grape diet is good too, more yummy for me
(09:35:15) (Andrew) tried the apple diet. screwed it up....drank a whole bottle of olive oil instead of just a glass.man, my eyebrows fell out ! :)
(09:35:27) (Raleigh) not that often q
(09:35:30) (WalksInSpirit) Gosh, Andrew!
(09:35:46) (Roz) cured your cough andrew?
(09:35:50) (Q) spilled your guts eh Andrew.. lol.
(09:36:03) (Raleigh) really drew?
(09:36:04) (Host-Nick) Raw apples are not recommended with any other food. They shut down the digestive system. Coffee counters this so easily digested foods like pears, grapes, bananas and berries could be eaten with them.
(09:36:12) (Andrew) oh brother !
(09:36:14) (Mandy) just be careful not to pass out on the third day..I would get so dizzy..did anyone else?
(09:36:24) (Host-Nick) LOL Andrew!
(09:36:35) (Raleigh) very weak yes for me mand
(09:36:48) (casa) FOFL Andrew
(09:37:07) (Host-Nick) If you have a cup of black coffee in the morning with the breakfast apples this should not happen, Mandy.
(09:37:14) (Q) So the digested apples tricks the body into believing it is full then?
(09:37:22) (Raleigh) yes mandy / dryed out like for me
(09:37:53) (Mandy) I tried that too Nick...I think I am just very sensitive
(09:38:02) (Host-Nick) The raw apples pectins shut down the hydrochloric acid production in the stomach.
(09:38:41) (Q) Well thankyou for the advice.. it seems sound..
(09:40:02) (Host-Nick) Wondering if you are too sensitive, Mandy, :o) do you plan the last day and the olive oil delight?! :o)
(09:40:02) (Cheryl) Thank you for the advice; Nick. Love & Light All!
(09:40:31) (Mandy) I used to Nick
(09:41:25) (Host-Nick) Maybe you are too active during your fasts, like I now am.
(09:41:36) (Mandy) Now I just eat pretty healthy, mostly no carbs and I do not feel the need for apple or grape diets anymore
(09:41:40) (dumbelle) Does sodium dissolve crystals
(09:42:46) (Host-Nick) Sodium metal would dissolve almost anything. For crystals and silicates, heating them in a furnace with socium carbonate or bicarbonate.
(09:42:59) (Host-Nick) would dissolve them.
(09:43:02) (Mandy) when I do lots of deep breathing, it seems to clear away toxins...I mean like an hour of it..while meditating
(09:43:28) (Raleigh) i feel that as well mandy
(09:43:35) (dumbelle) furnace?
(09:43:43) (Raleigh) and during prep i feel too
(09:44:06) (Host-Nick) That is a chemical approach, you mean deposits in your arteries I think.
(09:44:59) (Host-Nick) This is best done with blueberry juice, dar berry juice or Concord grape juice fasts.
(09:45:17) (Host-Nick) dark like black berry juice.
(09:45:38) (dumbelle) grapes are good for the heart right?
(09:47:11) (Host-Nick) The Concord grapes and other dark barries are rich in bioflavinoids, like bilberry, for example. These will actually start to dissolve the fatty plaque on the interiors of your arteries.
(09:48:08) (Roz) concords wil cure digestive probs also
(09:49:02) (merri) are you suppose to dilute the grape juice Nick?
(09:50:52) (Host-Nick) You can dilute it 1:1 especially in the grape juice fast. Although the Cayce diet also had people drink this half an hoiur before each meal to lose weight.
(10:02:20) (Nick) It is sleepytime here people, may the Light guide your paths, thank you for this evening.
(10:02:29) (casa) thank you so much Nick
(10:02:38) (merri) TY Blessings Nick
