Thankfulness: 11-19-06
(09:38:49) (Whipples) Are we taking about thankfulness tonight?
(09:39:05) (Host-WalksInSpirit) Yep, Whipples! If yall are ready, we'll get started!
(09:39:50) (Host-WalksInSpirit) Tonight, I thought we would talk a little on Thankfulness, since Thanksgiving is coming up this week. Let’s get started with prayer.
(09:40:36) (Host-WalksInSpirit) Holy Father, we thank You for the many blessings You have given us, and for this time of fellowship together. Father, we pray Your Hand upon all our loved ones who are traveling now, and will be traveling in the upcoming Holiday week. Father, help us to keep thankfulness in our hearts and to walk our paths in Beauty. We thank You for all these things, and In Your Holy Name, we ask these things. Nunwe.
(09:40:49) (LoveInfinity) Amen
(09:40:56) (merri) Amen
(09:41:07) (Whipples) Nunwe.
(09:41:17) (Cris) Amen
(09:41:32) (Bill) Amen
(09:42:01) (Host-WalksInSpirit) As we will see in some Cayce Readings I have selected for us, having an attitude of Thankfulness even affects our bodies! So, that “Attitude Of Gratitude” is extremely important.
(09:42:36) (Host-WalksInSpirit) Also, when we pray, it’s important to thank God right then for the things we ask, such as healing, etc. When we do that, it activates a certain level of our faith, for one thing. And, for another thing, we know that God inhabits the praises of His people. And, giving thanks for a thing before it happens puts us in an expectant mode. It’s that same “Mind Is The Builder” principle.
(09:43:34) (Host-WalksInSpirit) Please feel free to interject, ask questions, etc. at any time.
(09:43:51) (Host-WalksInSpirit) For how has the injunction been? "Constant in prayer." This is rather then that the whole attitude be kept in that attitude ever of a thankfulness. And leave it with Him. And go to personal or physical activity in some given direction. - Edgar Cayce Reading 462-8
(09:44:12) (Host-WalksInSpirit) What are some ways that you can keep yourself in an attitude of thankfulness? Any suggestions or practices that you apply in your life?
(09:44:49) (merri) start the day saying thankyou
(09:45:03) (Whipples) I like the idea of giving thanks before recieving. If time does not really exist as we experience it know, it put all things in the moment.
(09:45:07) (merri) it sets the mode for the coming events
(09:45:08) (Host-WalksInSpirit) That's a great one, Merri!
(09:45:18) (LoveInfinity) Live 4 Love
(09:45:21) (Whipples) now
(09:45:25) (Host-WalksInSpirit) Exactly, Whipples!
(09:46:40) (Host-WalksInSpirit) A small thing that most overlook now is saying Grace over our food. Not only does that express our thankfulness, but it spiritualizes the food and makes it healthier for our bodies.
(09:46:40) (Whipples) Expectation is a part of the foundation of using the mind as a builder.
(09:47:06) (Cris) Attitude of gratitude
(09:47:19) (LoveInfinity) my guide yells at me if I dont say thanks for leftovers, our little joke,
(09:47:19) (Host-WalksInSpirit) Yep!
(09:47:36) (Host-WalksInSpirit) :-)
(09:47:42) (Leon) thank God that we have built within our being a mind that is a builder (plus) a physical expression of our thoughts,
(09:48:30) (Host-WalksInSpirit) This next Reading is a two-parter, so bear with me:
(09:48:35) (LoveInfinity) blessing our food also changes the attitude of our food & drink
(09:48:48) (Host-WalksInSpirit) (Q) Dream had sometime ago shortly before recent complications. I was seated at a table of poor people. There seemed to be just soup served. I expected these people, unlike many more independent wealthy ones, to say grace and I prepared for the prayer of thankfulness. To my surprise it was not said - in fact I was more surprised to find others eating their meal and I without any. I called for my soup but it was gone or not given.
(09:49:27) (Host-WalksInSpirit) (A) In the conditions as have transpired in the life of the entity in material, in marital, and in social ways, this is seen through understanding as conditions as have transpired in the entity's experience for others who are in the position to be thankful for that place and without the seeming ability to apply the thankfulness, find their own reward only in the material way.
(09:49:38) (Host-WalksInSpirit) The entity apparently going begging, even for the frugal conditions, with thanksgiving, may, through the trials of the hour, gain the better understanding of the fullness in Him. - Edgar Cayce Reading 900-280
(09:49:44) (Host-WalksInSpirit) Ok, three-parter
(09:51:09) (Host-WalksInSpirit) Even though others may seem to have more in material assets, the better way is to be thankful for what you have. For what you gain in understanding will increase your faith. "The Lord chastises those He loves.”
(09:51:24) (Whipples) Interesting. It appears that something unseen is in store for the dreamer.
(09:51:57) (Host-WalksInSpirit) “through the trials of the hour, gain the better understanding of the fullness in Him” I can not count the number of times that things looked very bleak. Yet after passing through those times I was always grateful because God had given me the awareness of His presence and love for me, and shown me the higher calling of faith, hope and love.
(09:52:00) (Whipples) I wonder why the Lord chastises those hHe loves.
(09:52:44) (Host-WalksInSpirit) Sometimes the cross we carry is for the blessing of others and their salvation. God's plans are greater than ours and we must always be aware that He is using us if we are willing to bring all His children home to Him.
(09:53:05) (Host-WalksInSpirit) Not only will we gain insight and awareness in these trials, but so will others because they are watching you and your actions. You may never know the results of your actions, be assured they are far reaching..
(09:54:11) (Whipples) Yes, WIS. I try to remember that ther must be a good reason for our trials but it is difficult when times get tough.
(09:54:56) (Host-WalksInSpirit) Yep, it is. But, I believe that's when Thankfulness and the "Attitude Of Gratitude" is most important.
(09:55:43) (Host-WalksInSpirit) Like it says in the Bible: God inhabits the praises of His people.
(09:56:00) (Host-WalksInSpirit) One may not pray with long prayers of thankfulness for this or that, as in the experience of others, and still hold a grudge or a feeling of animosity, or a feeling of undue consideration for other individuals at least attempting - in their own ways - to be of help, whether in a feeble way or in whatever way. For all power that is in the hands of man has been LENT, and it is not of man's knowledge but of God. - Edgar Cayce Reading 1304-1
(09:57:14) (Host-WalksInSpirit) As there is the desire for more companionship, use it - the companionship - for creative influences; a living thankfulness to the Creative Forces for the OPPORTUNITIES for a service in this world. For, as ye do unto others, ye do unto thy Maker. Hold no grudges. Find no fault with others.
(09:57:29) (Host-WalksInSpirit) DO show appreciation for all efforts, not only for self but appreciation for the OPPORTUNITY to speak to and with others as to how they should appreciate THEIR opportunities among their associates in WHATEVER walk of life it may be. - Edgar Cayce Reading 2514-3
(09:58:21) (Host-WalksInSpirit) Then, in the mental attitudes, - here, much depends upon the usefulness of the body, the mind itself. There should be the attitudes not only of hopefulness, but of daily, practical application. In everything ye do for others, let it be with that mind for an expression of thankfulness to thy Maker. - Edgar Cayce Reading 1844-3
(09:59:07) (Host-WalksInSpirit) Keep in that attitude of thankfulness; not that as of belittling self. But as just indicated, as ye give thanks, give praise for the joys of each day - and you'll have more to add to thy joys daily. - Edgar Cayce Reading 2072-13
(09:59:36) (Host-WalksInSpirit) Let each thankfulness be made toward the applying of that received in aid to others. Let the prayer oft be: "IN THE JOY OF THE LORD, IN THE JOY OF BEING HELPFUL TO OTHERS, MAY I SING THE PRAISE OF THE MASTER." - Edgar Cayce Reading 2604-2
(09:59:55) (Whipples) Things become so much better when we focus on God's will and Our role in manifesting it.
(10:00:23) (Host-WalksInSpirit) Yep, Whipples! Well said!
(10:00:52) (Host-WalksInSpirit) Not unto justifying of thyself, but in thy labors glorify ever - daily - that love thou hast felt, as thou givest expression of the thankfulness for that love manifested. Thus in patience with such do ye become aware of thy soul, and of the love the Father hath bestowed upon thee through the Son. - Edgar Cayce Reading 2845-1
(10:01:59) (Host-WalksInSpirit) Know, as ye experienced, they that manifest in their relationships and dealings with their fellow man the glory, the appreciation, the thankfulness to the First Cause, God, shall never be hungry; neither shall their seed ask for bread. He keepeth those who trust in Him. - Edgar Cayce Reading 2861-1
(10:02:59) (Host-WalksInSpirit) Blu had to work tonight, but she wanted to share something. So, here's something she prepared for tonight:
(10:03:10) (Whipples) I wonder about that, WIS. There are many hungry people around the world. Do allof them NOT trust the Lord?
(10:03:59) (Host-WalksInSpirit) That's hard to understand, Whipples. So many in the world hungry and hurting and sick.
(10:04:15) (Bill) we each have our crosses to bare be thankful for the opportunity to better your next lifetime
(10:05:05) (Host-WalksInSpirit) Comment From Blu: I had an experience in meditation that I should take the bread and the wine in a sacrament.
(10:05:18) (Host-WalksInSpirit) One afternoon I took the time to slowly, in a meditative state take the bread and the wine. Many things came to my mind.
(10:05:38) (Host-WalksInSpirit) I looked at the bread as it was the Body of Jesus the Christ. "Take, eat in remembrance of me." Calling to mind all that I knew of Jesus, including the past lives in which He served to bring us back to a state of awareness of who we are and our relationship to God. It's a very humbling experience.
(10:06:03) (Whipples) Nice.
(10:06:18) (Host-WalksInSpirit) I noted that this was a physical experience of touch, taste, smell and sight. Yet being in the physical world does not separate me from Him. I remembered the promise that He would always be with me, even here in the physical. This was the point that I realized that my sense of hearing was an inner experience and included as well.
(10:07:01) (Host-WalksInSpirit) The words leaven the whole loaf came to my mind. I realized that I too was now leavened and that all those I contact were the mixture required to make bread. I realized that as I do the things I know to do that the community I am in whether at work or on line is being transformed. It is a process that in some ways is unseen just as the Holy Spirit is unseen.
(10:07:23) (jazz) trust as with the word thankfullness is an umbrella word which incorporates all beliefs . Most of the tribal thoughts or core beliefs is tied to a person must do something of honor to be thankful or to realize that sacrifice must happen to have thankfulness happen in ones life
(10:07:37) (Whipples) I had a dream last night that I was levitating and flying through objects. It was nice until my astral body was being pulled off of my bed. I was afraid and called on Jesus. After a struggle, I was able to control my movement again.
(10:07:40) (Host-WalksInSpirit) A word here a smile there, prayers and action combined create an atmosphere of change. The process changes the immediate area first but spreads quickly so that eventually everything around it is changed, the flour and the leaven become bread, a transformed newly created body of finer and better quality and usefulness.
(10:08:29) (LoveInfinity) embrace that Whipples and dont be scared nothing can hurt you, Your Guide was with you the whole time
(10:08:30) (Host-WalksInSpirit) We too are the leaven; we too become the bread, the staff of life. Food for thought.
(10:09:40) (jazz) to be thankful is to embrace ones understanding of awareness
(10:09:49) (merri) Thank Blu for sharing those thoughts with us WIS
(10:10:06) (Whipples) Yes, LI. I interpreted the dream to mean that when I felt things were out of my control, I should rely on Jesus. I try to do too much on my own sometimes.
(10:10:19) (Host-WalksInSpirit) I've seen tonight here in the comments that Thankfulness means many things to each of us. Let us all be mindful to be Thankful not only this week, on the 23rd, but every day.
(10:10:40) (Host-WalksInSpirit) I sure will, Merri!
(10:10:43) (LoveInfinity) not a dream but yes you are corrsct
(10:10:54) (jazz) what does that word mean to you WIS
(10:11:27) (Whipples) Not a dream, LI?
(10:11:36) (Host-WalksInSpirit) To me, it is the way I live.
(10:11:45) (LoveInfinity) OBE, or just a good ole soul walk
(10:12:00) (LoveInfinity) either way have fun with it
(10:12:09) (Whipples) Yes, it felt different, LI.
(10:12:28) (Leon) reconnecting to the soul mind bring glory , understanding, appreciation and an end to the cycle.
(10:12:30) (Host-WalksInSpirit) I live every day to be thankful, and show my thankfulness and gratitude to Creator and to my fellow man, and to my loved ones.
(10:12:30) (Whipples) I will, LI.
(10:12:47) (jazz) do we sometimes confuse the word greatful with thankful?
(10:13:15) (LoveInfinity) Blessing is the prayer that asks for NOTHING
(10:13:32) (merri) that wouldn't be hard to do jazz
(10:13:36) (LoveInfinity) by simple giving thanks for every breath we take
(10:13:38) (Whipples) They are interchangable sometimes, Jazz.
(10:21:37) (Host-WalksInSpirit) And now, I ask this Blessing on you all:
(10:21:42) (Host-WalksInSpirit) Num. 6:24-26: "The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace." Nunwe
(10:22:16) (merri) Amen
(10:22:40) (Host-WalksInSpirit) Open Chat! Thank you all for being here! I am thankful for great friends like yall! :-)
(10:23:19) (merri) and we are thankful for you & Blu being with us
(10:23:29) (Whipples) Amen.
(10:23:30) (Host-WalksInSpirit) :-)
(10:23:58) (Whipples) Thank you WIS> I always enjoy your chats.
(10:24:22) (WalksInSpirit) Thanks Whipples! I'm so glad you are here with us tonight!
(10:24:53) (Leon) thank you Walks

(11:02:30) (merri) well dreamtime for me....thankyou for a great chat WIS.....Blessings Love & WIS
(09:39:05) (Host-WalksInSpirit) Yep, Whipples! If yall are ready, we'll get started!
