(09:15:49) (GuestHost-ron) EDGAR CAYCE ON DREAMS
(09:16:07) (GuestHost-ron) Cayce was able to obtain virtually an unlimited amount of knowledge on an unlimited number of subjects. One of these subjects was dreams and dream interpretation. Cayce was able to astound people by interpreting their dreams and giving them insight into their psyche, lives and even past lives. Cayce revealed that dreams are actually journeys into the spirit world.
(09:16:35) (t_e_mike) an vishions
(09:16:37) (GuestHost-ron) we all can share conversation at anytime during the article
(09:17:02) (GuestHost-ron) Edgar Cayce once said that dreams, visions, impressions, to the entity in the normal sleeping state are the presentations of the experiences necessary for the development, if the entity would apply them in the physical life. These may be taken as warnings, as advice, as conditions to be met, conditions to be viewed in a way and manner as lessons, as truths, as they are presented in the various ways and manners.
(09:17:53) (GuestHost-ron) Each night the average person spends approximately ninety minutes in a dream state. Some of us can remember all or most of our dreams, and others have trouble remembering even a snippet from one of our nightly sojourns.
(09:18:43) (GuestHost-ron) The dream state is an experimental playground which gives you a chance to explore and express emotions without the usual inhibitions you may display in your waking life. Dreams provide an avenue of expression for that part of yourself that knows both your history and your potential as a spiritual being. They are another way the universe provides guidance about relationships, careers, and health problems.
(09:19:26) (GuestHost-ron) Through dreams you may find answers to your spiritual questions and even receive encouragement to some challenge in your life. While some dreams may allow you to release bottled emotions from your day's activities, others can lead to profound insights in a psychological or spiritual way.
(09:20:11) (GuestHost-ron) However, Carl Jung said dreams are "the main source of all of our knowledge about symbolism." This means that the messages you receive from your dreams are expressed symbolically and must be interpreted to find their true meanings.
(09:21:05) (GuestHost-ron) Mark Thurston, executive director for Edgar Cayce's research foundation and author of the book, Dreams: Tonight's Answers for Tomorrow's Questions, says, "A dream symbol is the very best way for your unconscious self to communicate to your conscious self. The particular image chosen - be it an object, a person, an animal, or whatever - has shades of meaning and personal associations that make it the best communicator of some truth about yourself."
(09:22:54) (GuestHost-ron) Ancient Chinese tradition held that it is your spiritual soul which creates your dreams and leaves the body to travel to other realms and meet other souls. They and other ancient cultures, including the Greeks, erected dream temples for seekers to find guidance about their lives.
(09:23:24) (GuestHost-ron) Many times purification rituals as well as other rites of preparation were performed by the seeker prior to entering the temple and the dream state. Upon awakening, the seeker consulted with the temple dream interpreters.
(09:23:52) (Rosie) that was right handy :o)
(09:24:01) (GuestHost-ron) Cayce believed that our dreams serve several functions. Somatic dreams - dreams referring to the body - are extremely important to be mindful of. Very often dreams will offer solutions to health problems.
(09:24:22) (ky-mike) yes cures
(09:24:27) (GuestHost-ron) For example, one man was plagued with food allergies for many years, but was unable to find the source of his discomfort. Then one night he went to bed and he dreamed of a can of coffee. He quit drinking coffee and his symptoms disappeared.
(09:24:58) (GuestHost-ron) Jung says that rarely do the symbols in dreams have just one meaning. And when interpreting the messages in your dreams, he suggests going with your first hunch, relying on your intuitive abilities, before applying more rational methods of dream interpretation.
(09:25:31) (GuestHost-ron) Cayce also believed that deceased friends and family members do occasionally visit us in our dream state. These occurrences may offer direct communication with those people or allow us to resolve our feelings about their death. The person may also represent some aspect of ourselves.
(09:26:04) (GuestHost-ron) One man reports that occasionally he hears a voice in his dreams. This voice usually is loud and strong and is not associated with any characters in his dreams. "Typically, I'm told something very specific to do or not to do," he relates. "I know this is God speaking to me - loud and clear. And I know I'd better listen."
(09:26:34) (GuestHost-ron) Morton Blumenthal, who received more dream interpretations from Cayce than anyone else - often reported dreams of a disembodied voice, which offered counsel. Cayce usually indicated this was input from the Creative Forces, God.
(09:27:00) (ky-mike) our spirit guides
(09:27:08) (GuestHost-ron) that must be quite a privilage
(09:27:18) (GuestHost-ron) For example, in one dream, Blumenthal dreamt of a figure leading him by the hand, and a voice which said, "The Lord will lead you - but you must ..." He had forgotten the rest of what was said to him, but Cayce interpreted it as follows:
(09:27:54) (GuestHost-ron) "As in this, as is seen, again and again, the entity receives that reassurance of the higher forces guiding, guarding, and directing the entity in its actions, as it were, with the cloud by day and the pillar of fire by night."
(09:28:33) (GuestHost-ron) Blumenthal also had a fascinating dream in which God came to visit him. To the dreamer's surprise, God was a modern businessman. Cayce's interpretation pointed out that God was someone with whom we can "do business."
(09:28:57) (GuestHost-ron) God is not only transcendent but also actively involved in human affairs. It was a powerful message and, in a sense, a wonderful revelation from the divine.
(09:29:38) (GuestHost-ron) here are a few EC quotes that i added in with this article
(09:29:53) (GuestHost-ron) Regarding precognitive dreams Edgar Cayce said:
(09:30:09) (GuestHost-ron) "Dreams are a manifestation of the subconscious. Any (personal) condition before becoming a reality is first dreamed." (136-18) Of the early psychiatrists and psychologists, Freud, Adler, Jung, and Fromm, who pioneered in the study of dreams, Freud was the first to identify dreams as expressions of the unconscious.
(09:30:38) (GuestHost-ron) In the Edgar Cayce records, the activity of the soul in sleep and recorded in dreams is clearly stated:
(09:31:04) (GuestHost-ron) "Sleep is that period when the soul takes stock of what it has acted upon, from one rest period to another; drawing comparisons, as it were, that make for harmony, peace, joy, love, long suffering, patience, brotherly love and kindness--
(09:31:26) (GuestHost-ron) all fruits of the spirit. Hate, harsh words, unkind thoughts and oppressions are fruits of Satan. The soul either abhors what it has passed through, or it enters into the joy of the Lord." (364-4)
(09:32:16) (GuestHost-ron) Here we have a logical explanation for our awakening in an unhappy or depressed mood when we might have gone to bed in excellent spirits. On the other hand; if we awaken feeling happy and ready to meet the day with vigor, our soul is content that the previous day's endeavor was as positive as we could make it.
(09:32:42) (ky-mike) an being pos .. is the way
(09:32:54) (GuestHost-ron) When an individual has fallen short of his own standards or failed to be true to himself, he may suffer recriminating dream that pulls him up short. This type of dream exposes the dark or negative aspects of the self, which Jung calls "the realization of the shadow."
(09:32:57) (GuestHost-ron) right mike
(09:34:01) (GuestHost-ron) In one such case, a married man who was succumbing to temptations of adultery asked for an interpretation of a particular dream and was told by Cayce:
(09:34:20) (GuestHost-ron) "This dream is a warning! Prepare to meet the conditions as a man and not as a weakling. Remember first the duties you owe to those to whom the sacred vows are given-Beware." (2671-5)
(09:34:56) (GuestHost-ron) In 1923 Cayce expressed the power of dreams to influence the conscience in precise terms and it is this quotation that we can take as the over-all theme of this book.
(09:35:23) (GuestHost-ron) "Forget not that it has been rightly said that the Creator, the gods and the God of the Universe speak to man through his individual self. Man approaches the more' intimate conditions of that field of the inner self when the conscious self is at rest in sleep; at which time more of the inner forces are taken into consideration and studied by the individual.
(09:36:38) (Peter_H) Thank you Ron & everyone, this is interesting but I have to go.... Love & Visions
(09:36:40) (GuestHost-ron) "If man desires to receive God's approval, it is his duty to try not only to understand himself, but also to understand his individual relationship to others.
(09:37:12) (GuestHost-ron) "This he can do through the reception of messages from the higher forces themselves, as in dreams. In this age, at present (1923), there is insufficient credence given to dreams. For the best development of the human family, greater increase in knowledge of. the subconscious soul or spirit world is necessary." (2744-4)
(09:37:12) (ky-mike) the knowing...
(09:37:42) (GuestHost-ron) Why doesn't everyone remember his dreams? Cayce gave four reasons: lack of interest, physical exhaustion, impurities in the body, and materialism.
(09:38:02) (GuestHost-ron) The first step in stimulating the recall of dreams, said Cayce, is to tell yourself every night just before you fall asleep, "I will remember my dreams." A pad and pencil should be kept on the bedside table. This will aid the subconscious mind to awaken the conscious mind (for recording) the moment an important dream has concluded.
(09:38:26) (GuestHost-ron) Here are important ways in which dreams may be of value to you:
(09:38:40) (GuestHost-ron) 1. Understanding and facing yourself.
(09:38:53) (GuestHost-ron) 2. Practical guidance for body, mind, and spirit.
(09:39:06) (GuestHost-ron) 3. Practical guidance in business problems.

(09:40:17) (GuestHost-ron) 5. Encouragement and inspiration.
(09:40:33) (GuestHost-ron) 6. Information for the healing of the body, the mind, and the spirit.
(09:40:49) (GuestHost-ron) 7. Expansion of consciousness.
(09:41:04) (GuestHost-ron) 8. Stimulation of creativity.
(09:41:20) (GuestHost-ron) reminds me of a guitar plaayer's dream :)
(09:41:36) (GuestHost-ron) 9. A record of psychic experiences.
(09:41:54) (GuestHost-ron) 10. Experiences in other dimensions, such as out-of-body experience.
(09:42:08) (GuestHost-ron) 11. Memories of past life experiences.
(09:42:22) (GuestHost-ron) 12. Realizing your responsibility to those dependent on you.
(09:42:39) (GuestHost-ron) 13. Recognizing a greater responsibility to all mankind, friend and foe.
(09:42:56) (GuestHost-ron) 14. Discovering and establishing communication through the higher self with your Creator.
(09:43:06) (tru_eagle_mike) to b in tune ... harmony
(09:43:12) (GuestHost-ron) 15. Developing your spiritual nature.
(09:43:28) (GuestHost-ron) 16. Gaining inner peace.
(09:43:40) (GuestHost-ron) 17. Most important .of all, increasing your ability to serve your fellow man through' better understanding of his problems and thought processes.

At the edge of this dry lake a man was in a rowboat trying to row across the sandy bottom. I had to go over and tell him his boat wouldn't float until the lake was filled again
(09:47:29) (Cris) That was the end of the dream
(09:47:39) (tru_eagle_mike) wierd !
(09:47:41) (Cris) I was finding specimens in it!
(09:48:11) (MaryAnne) Nice dream...no clue what it means :o)
(09:48:26) (tru_eagle_mike) ron .. u hav a take on it
(09:48:32) (GuestHost-ron) what do you think?...someone is trying to reach a certain goal/destination the hard way?
(09:48:59) (Rosie) the man is you
(09:49:02) (GuestHost-ron) or impatiently until circumstances are proper, the proper time?
(09:49:08) (Cris) might be I have a certain person in my family that only learns the hard way
(09:49:25) (tru_eagle_mike) a hard rower
(09:50:05) (MaryAnne) Did you know the man in the dream?
(09:50:17) (GuestHost-ron) but, cris, were you successful at what you were doing?...finding what you were looking for?
(09:50:55) (tru_eagle_mike) may b telling u to look near water.... a find
(09:50:57) (Cris) No never saw him before
(09:51:15) (Cris) I will be near water Sunday
(09:51:22) (tru_eagle_mike) seee
(09:51:29) (GuestHost-ron) i believe that the person in your dream was an aspect of yourself as someone else mentioned
(09:51:33) (tru_eagle_mike) a major find
(09:51:34) (Cris) I'm going to a family reunion for a few days
(09:51:44) (Leon) My spin is: There is a teasure waiting for you other than spiritual and you have begun to look for it. Man in boat, You may have to wait for awhile before you can continue on your spiritual but your aware of that.. Go find your treasure.
(09:52:07) (Rosie) in one dream cayce interpreted, a boat was the voyage of life
(09:52:07) (Cris) That's a good interpretation Leon
(09:52:17) (tru_eagle_mike) keep it in mind ...cris
(09:52:54) (Cris) Mine is apparently resting on a dry lakebed right now
(09:52:55) (Rosie) does a boat mean anything in particular for you?
(09:53:03) (Cris) No
(09:53:31) (GuestHost-ron) rosie did well with the boat, one's journey
(09:53:33) (tru_eagle_mike) u may se a boat .. then find somthing
(09:53:49) (MaryAnne) I wonder also if on some level it means as you go about those things you love doing you will be helpful to someone else
(09:54:14) (GuestHost-ron) but conditions were not proper yet...she must wait
(09:54:15) (Rosie) do you feel kinda spiritually stranded right now?
(09:54:35) (Cris) Right now I am a fulltime caregiver
(09:54:48) (Cris) everything is on hold
(09:55:00) (tru_eagle_mike) ty cris .. noble work ... been there
(09:55:05) (GuestHost-ron) oh...getting nowhere fast is wht you may be feeling
(09:55:05) (Leon) I would see that it could be the coming of a child.. Idon't know if your are marries or your age so I know I'm being risky.
