Creating Your Reality: 06-07-06
Welcome to the “Creating Your Reality” chat. By way of reminder, I am using as the basis for this chat the book “Ask, And It Is Given,” by Esther and Jerry Hicks. The material is channeled from a group of entities calling itself Abraham.
Last week we FINALLY (heehee!) got to the Emotional Guidance scale, which Abraham presents as a tool to help us recognize where we are emotionally and therefore where we are in terms of our ability to create what we want in our reality.
According to Abraham, it is impossible to deliberately create what we desire unless in our emotions, our being, are at or near the top or at Number 1 on this 22-point scale, or at a point of Joy/Knowledge/Empowerment/Freedom/Love/Appreciation. Number 22 is Fear/GriefDepression/Despair/Powerlessness.
I might remind you that Abraham allows that different points on this scale might be slightly different for different people, but that there was a need to provide some definition for the purpose of engaging in various exercises to guide our vibrations, our energy, to the point of being able to deliberately create – that is, being in a state of love and recognizing our spiritual birthright as deliberate Creators of our experiences.
In other words, we place ourselves in the flow of abundance that continually emanates from our God, our Creator, or All That Is by changing our negative vibrations to positive vibrations…thoughts and feelings of lack to thoughts and feelings of abundance.
Due to societal conditioning, we have trouble creating what we want because although we may desire a thing or condition, our vibrations or energy are still based on the lower emotions like fear and lack. Until we raise our vibrations to match what we desire we will not be able to create it.
I can point to myself as a perfect example of this. Of late there is something really, really big that I need, and that I therefore desire. It is so big that under normal conditions – and by that I mean societal conditioning that tells me it is impossible to have or create this just because I want to – it would be impossible to create it. In spiritual terms that type of thinking is clearly abnormal.
I’ve been doing my best to concentrate on manifesting this desire. I’ve been trying to use all the tips we’ve been discussing these past weeks: thinking positively about it; concentrating on the fact that it already exists and being grateful for it; trying to keep my emotions at a high level to help it into being. So far, nothing.
I figure if I keep this up long enough, then as Abraham says, matching vibrations will be drawn to this desire and eventually it will manifest. Eventually, however, could be decades, I realized this morning, because although I’m doing a good job of putting on my game face where this desire is concerned I can still feel a heavy nugget of doubt in my gut—fear that it won’t really happen because this thing is so BIG in my mind. This nugget could grow to softball size unless I find a way to check it pretty darned fast.
I can intellectualize what I’m doing “wrong” but the weight of this negative conditioning seems to be getting the best of my faith and knowledge that I AM the Creator. I AM, instead, in a state of “not allowing” as Abraham would say. I seem to be yo-yo-ing between Number 3: Enthusiasm/Eagerness/Happiness, and Numbers 13 and 14: Doubt and Worry.
To nip conditions like this in the bud, Abraham offers several processes/games/techniques depending on where we are on the Emotional Guidance Scale.
Number 5: The Prosperity Game, to be used when you are somewhere between Number 1 on the scale and number 16: Discouragement, seems to fit my need at the moment. You should use this process when: you want to expand your ability to imagine; you want to add more clarity or specificity to your desire; you want to enhance the flow of money into your experience; you want to enhance the flow of abundance wit respect to a variety of things.
You begin by establishing an imaginary checking account into which you make deposit entries and check withdrawals as though they were real. You could use an old checkbook system that is no longer in use, an accounting program in your computer, or you could even manufacture a complete system by using a notebook as your checkbook. The idea is to make this process feel as real as possible.
On the first day, make a $1,000 deposit entry into the checkbook register, then write out checks to spend those dollars. The point of the game is to have fun thinking about what you would like to purchase, and to enjoy the process of writing the checks. Be descriptive on the memo portion of the checks in describing your purchases.
On the second day, deposit $2,000, on the third, $3,000, and so forth. In doing this you are increasing your ability to imagine.
“Most people offer their vibrations almost exclusively in response to what they are observing, but by playing this game you will find yourself reaching for new ideas, and tin time, you will feel the expansion of your own desire and expectation. In doing so, you will benefit by shifting your point of attraction.”
There is a consciousness of His force, power, and activity upon which we may draw. When doubts arise, it is a call to prayer. Let no doubt linger, but give thanks that it is only a look onward and upward that will again restore the faith upon which our hope is built.
The Power of Love

As love is God, it is, therefore, our abundant supply. Do we lack? Do we love? Do we allow conditions to keep us from the realization of the presence of God? If so, how can we expect the flow of abundance when we are keeping the channel blocked by our thoughts an attitudes? We are standing in the way of our own success.

Why should we dream of any given conditions? The law of cause and effect is immutable through choice in our experiences. Hence, as our thoughts, purposes, aims and desires are set in motion by mind, their effects are as a condition that IS.
Not by a thought do we change this or that, but by constant thinking, constant building

Desire
Page 33
Desire originates in the will. It is of the earth and of the spirit. It is activated in the realms in which it is directed by that which is the motivating force, though the will and the mental abilities and faculties of the individual.
Desire is the power which drives our physical, our spiritual self, while will is the directing force. The positions in which we find ourselves are drawn to us through our desires. Whatever we are physically, mentally or spiritually has been built through desire
