Creating Your Reality: 06-14-06
(09:33:28) (Rosie) Guess I'll get started...that way 5 people will come in and wonder why the hell I'm talking football....
(09:33:53) (Bill) ones already here, me
(09:35:31) (Rosie) alrighty then...
(09:35:36) (Rosie) From The Edgar Cayce Companion page 27: Know that the creative Energy called God may be as personal as an individual will allow same to be; for the Spirit is in the image of the Creative Forces and seeks manifestation. It may take that personality, for we are co-laborers, co-creators with the Energy we call God, that Energy we call Universal Forces. 391-14
(09:36:18) (Rosie) Welcome to the “Creating Your Reality” chat. As a reminder, I am using as the basis for this chat the book “Ask, And It Is Given,” by Esther and Jerry Hicks. The material is channeled from a group of entities calling itself Abraham. Tonight I will also quote from “The Vision” by Tom Brown Jr.
(09:36:51) (Rosie) You may have heard or read this week about a motorcycle accident involving the Pittsburgh Steelers’ quarterback, Ben Roethlisberger. He was seriously injured, requiring 7 hours of surgery to repair broken facial bones and to suture lacerations. He was not wearing a helmet at the time.
(09:37:14) (Rosie) (and you thought I was kidding about the football thing :o)
(09:37:36) (Rosie) The reason this accident made such big headlines is that from the time he drafted and team managers learned about his penchant for riding motorcycles they asked him, warned him, pleaded with him not to ride, fearing the kind of accident an injuries he suffered this week.
(09:37:59) (Rosie) (looks like I shoulda proofread, huh?)
(09:38:21) (Rosie) He refused to comply, bringing on more criticism, warnings and worries from those dependent in some way on his stellar abilities. Even those who were not so dependent, like one of the team’s former quarterbacks, scolded him for tempting “fate.”
(09:38:54) (Rosie) I haven’t partaken of the comments by all the managers and spinmeisters because I don’t need to—I know what they’re saying: “We told you so.”
(09:39:23) (Rosie) They do not believe this incident is in any way their doing. And yet everything we have learned during these discussions says that thought they don’t realize it they are just as responsible as he is, if not more so.
(09:39:40) (Rosie) though they don't realize...
(09:40:06) (Rosie) He was obviously confident in his own ability to ride without incident. But I’m sure their constant harping caused some doubt to rise in his own mind.
(09:40:10) (Cris) Because they gave the idea of an accident so much energy?
(09:40:19) (Rosie) exactly
(09:40:24) (Rosie) that's my thinking, anyway
(09:40:34) (Rosie) And just as Abraham has described, that doubt drew to it all the fear-based thoughts and emotions of those around him until, lo and behold, they collectively brought the accident into reality.
(09:40:37) (Bill) maybe they were just predicting the future
(09:41:06) (Rosie) may be, bill :o)...football owners are often thought of as prophets ;o)
(09:41:16) (merri) LOL
(09:41:30) (WalksInSpirit) I, too, think when we worry about things, we give 'em power. My Grandmother used to tell us "Don't borrow trouble."
(09:41:40) (Rosie) It is, in my mind, a perfect example of our society’s ignorance of our creative abilities, and how our pervasive focus on fear and negativity bring to us calamity and lack bring to us the results of that focus.
(09:42:01) (Rosie) or whatever I meant there...heehee!
(09:42:09) (Rosie) you KNOW what I meant!
(09:42:12) (Bill) here has told me at one time or another to go to hell does that mean i should expect to go there :o)
(09:42:31) (Rosie) well, ol Big Ben sure did, in a manner of speaking
(09:42:56) (Rosie) According to Abraham, the Law of Attraction makes it increasingly easy to focus upon our thoughts, whatever they are, because, as in the “Big Ben” example, it makes more like thoughts available, developing a mood or attitude and eventually a vibrational groove or emotional set point that invites whatever is in our focus into being.
(09:43:54) (Rosie) Parents are a perfect example--and I’m just as guilty as the next--of fear-based reactions. They are so easily attained where our children are concerned. Even if we don’t verbalize exactly what we’re fearing, statements like, “Don’t run with that stick in your hand,” “Don’t jump that hill on your bike,” “Don’t run down the stairs,” carry that fear and I think affect our children subliminally if not directly.
(09:44:56) (Rosie) Sure, there’s a fine line between living in fear and handing out basic safety advice. But what if we, like our children, had no fear? How many times have they done something daring that we’d swear would result in injury but did not, simply due to their faith in themselves, or their lack of fear?
(09:44:56) (Bill) so your saying were not ultimately responsible for our own well being ?
(09:45:05) (janie) I used to tell my kids to 'be careful'.....but began to tell them 'stay safe' instead :o)
(09:45:21) (Rosie) good idea, janie!
(09:46:02) (Rosie) I'm saying what we think and fear can and does affect others, based on what we've learned about the Law of Attraction
(09:46:58) (Rosie) In the case of Big Ben, the accident affected the "us" that is the Steelers faithful
(09:47:37) (Rosie) I can think of an incident involving a motorcycle and my son, who was about 13 at the time my husband bought a motorcycle just for tooling around the farm. I was appalled when he walked the bike out to the old railroad bed, allowed our son, who had never been on a motorcycle in his life, to get on and take off.
(09:48:13) (Rosie) I of course was thinking, “Oh my God, he’s going to wreck and hurt himself,” and I do believe I may have verbalized that to them as they set out on the ridiculous stunt. But did they listen? Nooooooooooooo. Or maybe they did.
(09:48:41) (Rosie) Not 15 minutes later here they came. Our son had wrecked by driving the motorcycle over a hill of gravel and losing control. He had a broken foot.
(09:49:13) (Bill) i don't think the voice of reason broke his ft.
(09:49:26) (Rosie) I now wonder if the same scenario would have played out if I had kept my thoughts and emotions in check…if I had had faith that it would turn out all right instead of fearing the worst. We’ll never know for sure. And yet something in my gut tells me I was just as responsible as they for what happened.
(09:49:45) (Rosie) Obviously you disagree, bill :o)
(09:50:22) (Rosie) And that's OK. I'm OK. You're OK *cheezy grin*
(09:50:26) (Bill) thoughts are things so in your sinario even the thought would have been at fault
(09:50:27) (shyra) lol Bill
(09:50:40) (Rosie) I'm suggesting it could have been, yes
(09:51:14) (Rosie) This conditioned negativity on a societal level is something huge we must overcome if we are to get to a place where we are able to constantly create what we desire instead of what we eventually receive from fear-based expectations.
(09:51:36) (Cris) Accidents also happen from inexperience
(09:51:41) (Richard) There were several possible outcomes to that event and that might have been the least hazordous and most educational... think positive.
(09:51:55) (Cris) My son almost totaled a car when I was teaching him t drive
(09:51:56) (Rosie) LOL...point taken!
(09:52:25) (Rosie) another scary scenario involving children!
(09:52:30) (Cris) He didn't think I knew what I was talking about when Itold him he was taking a corner too fast
(09:52:38) (shyra) This chat is based on a specific book isn't it?
(09:52:59) (Rosie) I've been using Ask and It Is Given by Esther and Jerry Hicks
(09:53:03) (Cris) The car jumped a ditch and almost fell down a hill
(09:53:14) (Rosie) sheesh, cris!
(09:53:16) (Cris) With us in it
(09:53:37) (shyra) there is a book I believe titled "Creating your own reality" though
(09:53:42) (Rosie) did you send him to a driving school after that? heehee!
(09:53:54) (Cris) No I let Ken teach him
(09:53:58) (Rosie) i'm sure there is, shyra :o)
(09:54:08) (Rosie) lol..good thinkin' cris :o)
(09:54:46) (Rosie) I imagine, cris, that like any parent you were probably a bit nervous at the outset
(09:54:46) (shyra) a concept which I have been recently trying to put into practice
(09:55:14) (Rosie) that's a good thing, shyra :o)
(09:55:21) (shyra) it was nice until I ran into some ppl at work who are soooooooooo fear based
(09:55:44) (Rosie) that's the point we've been discussing...overcoming our societal negativity
(09:56:03) (Rosie) What is it that Newton’s first law of motion says? That (in a state of no gravity) an object tends to stay at rest. And that an object in motion will continue in motion unless acted upon by an equal and opposite force? In other words, it is the tendency of objects to resist changes in their state of motion. He was simply discovering Universal Law.
(09:56:05) (shyra) and now I think I ought to be reading "Why bad things happen to good ppl " LOL
(09:56:36) (Rosie) Fortunately as co-creators with the Universal Forces our abilities are above those of objects and we have the ability to change direction through thought and desire. So to combat this culturally-based negativity we must constantly vigilant of remaining positive, of having faith, that we can change our direction.
(09:57:05) (Rosie) no you shouldn't, shyra! At least in my humble opinion
(09:57:38) (Rosie) And we have to cultivate the ability to do so despite what is going on around us…what we are observing.
(09:57:52) (Rosie) ...as in shyra's work situation
(09:58:05) (Rosie) That is where cultivating the art of appreciation, an attitude of gratitude, plays such a huge role.
(09:58:32) (shyra) I meant that these folks are having a very negative effect on me and it is spreading into all phases of my life Rosie
(09:58:34) (Rosie) Abraham: “As you move through your day, you may see unhappy people who are ornery, disappointed, or in pain; and as they direct their negative emotion toward you, you may find it very difficult to feel appreciation toward them. And then you may blame yourself for not being strong enough to appreciate them in spite of their negative offerings toward you.’
(09:59:03) (shyra) very diificult Rosie
(09:59:05) (Rosie) you got here at just the right moment, shyra...read on
(09:59:20) (Rosie) “Well, we would never suggest that you should be able to look right at something you do not want and feel good about it. Instead, look for things that cause you to feel good when you find them, and then the Law of Attraction will bring you more things like those.”
(09:59:39) (shyra) I guess :)
(09:59:51) (Rosie) “Whenver you are looking for things to appreciate (as in the Rampage of Appreciation we discussed last week), you have control of your own vibrational offering and your own point of attraction, but when you are responding to the way other seem to feel about you, you have no control.”
(10:00:28) (Rosie) “You do not know who ran over their dog today or who divorced them or who took money out of their bank account. You do not know how they are living, so you cannot understand why the react to you in the way they do. And you cannot control it.”
(10:00:41) (janie) Even if your appreciation takes the form of "Man, I'm sure thankful my hair doesn't look THAT bad!"?!? heehee!
(10:00:53) (Rosie) LOL! whatever it takes!
(10:01:15) (Rosie) “Once you have made the decision that nothing is more important than that you feel good, and you have decided that you are going to consciously look for some things to appreciate today, the object of your attention has now become the feeling of appreciation.”
(10:01:43) (shyra) :)
(10:02:04) (Rosie) As we have discussed here in the past, shyra, the key to creating what you desire is keeping your emotions at a high, loving level
(10:02:16) (Rosie) “You have now established a circuit between you and that object of appreciation that the Law of Attraction will being working on immediately, so you will start seeing more things to appreciate right away.”
(10:02:48) (Rosie) I think that's supposed to be "begin working on..."
(10:03:16) (Rosie) I’ve been reading a trilogy of books by Tom Brown Jr., the renowned tracker and teacher of survival techniques, among many other things. He was taught both physical and spiritual survival, as it were, by an old Apache shaman he referred to as Grandfather.
(10:03:43) (Rosie) Grandfather provides an excellent example of living in gratitude.
(10:04:35) (Rosie) In “Visions,” Tom recounts a day in the New Jersey Pine Barrens when as a boy he observed from a distance Grandfather’s approach to a stream. This is a lengthy passage but one I think well worth the experiencing.
(10:04:39) (shyra) nothing is more important than my feeling good ?
(10:05:33) (Rosie) when it comes to raising your vibrations to the point where you are able to consciously create what you desire...that's the context, shyra
(10:05:58) (shyra) Think I ought ttake that on as my new affirmation Rosie :)
(10:06:16) (Rosie) well, it beats, "I'm having a bad hair day." heehee!
(10:06:20) (Bill) Shyra feeling good about yourself because of the choices you make
(10:06:42) (Rosie) thank you ,bill
(10:06:51) (Bill) yw
