Healing Stones Chat: 01-30-07
(09:34:05) (Cris) Lord and Protector of all please be with us on our spiritual journey as we seek a higher plane of thought. Let us see opportunity to work in your grace as we come together to seek peace in this world. Amen
(09:34:20) (Bill) Amen
(09:34:25) (Raleigh) Amen
(09:34:25) (Blu) Amen
(09:34:30) (Julia) amen
(09:34:33) (ron) amen
(09:34:41) (WalksInSpirit) Nunwe
(09:35:00) (Rosie) Awomen
(09:35:06) (Julia) amen!
(09:35:19) (Cris) Welcome to Healing Stones. Tonight we will focus on how to choose the stones you want in your life. Feel free to ask any questions
(09:38:38) (Cris) Because stone healing is popular today a lot of gullible people are being snookered into paying major money for tumbled stones or stones labeled as metaphysical healing stones.
(09:38:49) (Julia) well thats for sure
(09:38:57) (Cris) If you walk into a commercial healing or metaphysical center chances are that the workers will use stones for a massage, as an elixir in “healing water” or run stones over your body to balance your chakras.
(09:39:24) (Cris) Let’s not forget that they will also remember to sell you a few on your way out the door for protection, pain management or any other excuse they can find to grab your cash.
(09:39:52) (Cris) I am not a skeptic. Some of these stones do work but you can find them yourself or buy them for a lot less if you are interested in helping yourself. The first thing you need to do if you are interested is read about the stones you feel drawn to.
(09:41:30) (Cris) There is a reason for them in your life if you keep coming across them so learn a little about them ahead of time. If your library has books on healing stones check them out. Some libraries do carry them others are not as progressive. You can request them from an interlibrary loan or purchase them.
(09:42:11) (Cris) While you are reading look up other stones that also relate to the condition or issue you are concerned about. Remember that one stone might work better for your vibrations while another works better for someone else. If you are truly interested in healing yourself or someone else (remember you have to ask their permission to heal them) it is time to locate your specimen. Please note that I say stone or specimen not healing stone.
(09:42:20) (Raleigh) i dont recall cris does/ is there a cayce book on gems?
(09:42:53) (Cris) There are at least three we already went through the first
(09:43:08) (Raleigh) k
(09:43:27) (Cris) All stones vibrate but one labeled as a healer will usually be far more expensive than a regular rock. I say this as a long time (I won’t say how long) rockhound. If you have a gem & mineral society near you contact them to see if there are local field trips for stones of interest. If there are you might want to join so you can dig your own.
(09:43:28) (Raleigh) wonder why i never bought 1 /
(09:44:12) (Cris) If you are not the get down and grubby to harvest your own sort of person you will probably end up buying them. Here is where caution kicks in. Start your search in a rock shop or nature store where you might find small bins of popular stones. Also decide if you are looking for a rough, polished specimen or crystal. The polished stone or crystal might be a little more expensive. A polished stone has a nicer feel than a jagged piece of rough.
(09:45:05) (Cris) If it is the right stone it will still be able to be used
(09:45:32) (Cris) If you don’t find what you want try a non-commercial gem & mineral show. Small specimens can usually be purchased for a reasonable amount of money. Look at all of the dealer tables before you buy. The markup from one dealer to another can be over 200 percent. This is because some dealers buy in larger quantities or buy out old collections and pass on the savings.
(09:46:19) (Raleigh) i have a trusted gem shop owner so im lucky / stewarts gem shop of boise cris / family owned and small /
(09:46:19) (Cris) The same rule applies to stones you want to wear as jewelry at those shows
(09:48:12) (Cris) Once you have located what you want it is time to feel an assortment of specimens. Remember the dealers usually won’t let you take one to compare with a competitor. Hold the stones in your hand one at a time. You may or may not feel attracted to a specific stone. If you aren’t go by the weight and feel of what will be most comfortable for you to use for your purpose.
(09:48:58) (Raleigh) like just a good feeling cris?
(09:49:59) (Cris) What works for you when you feel the specimens not every stone will give you a sign
(09:50:09) (Cris) Avoid stones that are cut in a crystal shape instead of being natural stones. Look at some of the bead dealers if you are interested in wearing your stones. Some of them will have strands of rose quartz, adventurine, hematite, garnets or other stones. Ask to see if they are natural or dyed. You want the natural stone.
(09:51:07) (Julia) oh dyed i wouldnt have thought of that
(09:51:07) (Cris) If you don’t have access to a show you may end up visiting a crystal shop. This is where you roll your tongue back in your mouth and shut it. You will be up to your eyeballs in fascinating stones and crystals of every variety. Many of them will be labeled “metaphysical.”
(09:51:21) (anonymoo) you mean they dont tell unless you ask chris?
(09:51:30) (Cris) Not always
(09:51:32) (Julia) why do they dye them?
(09:51:39) (Rosie) and how?
(09:51:44) (Julia) yeah
(09:51:45) (Andrew) Cris anything regarding jade ?
(09:51:46) (Cris) A lot of agates are dyed and sold as other things
(09:51:52) (Julia) oh wow
(09:51:52) (Rosie) I've never seen one that LOOKS dyed
(09:51:59) (Alec) thats wrong...
(09:52:02) (Julia) me either, how do u know?
(09:52:06) (Cris) Jade has a specific feel
(09:52:12) (Julia) besides asking, they might not tell u they dyed it
(09:52:22) (Raleigh) hmmm /
(09:52:27) (anonymoo) I have seen them the colors are vivd
(09:52:42) (Cris) They are required to tell you if you ask
(09:52:46) (Julia) oh
(09:52:47) (anonymoo) they do it with geodes
(09:53:02) (Cris) a dyed stone will often have a more vivid hue than a natural stone
(09:53:14) (Bill) the stones dyed are more likely to be slabs other than anything else
(09:53:15) (anonymoo) told ya lol
(09:53:18) (Raleigh) yeah i buy lapis big / ill bet some was dyed /
(09:53:23) (Julia) oh slabs ok
(09:53:29) (Cris) dampen your fingers and see if dye rubs off on them
(09:53:38) (Andrew) Lapis Lazuli ! Yes !
(09:53:42) (Raleigh) good 1 ty cris / i will
(09:53:56) (Julia) how do they dye them? wouldnt it be more like painting them? the rocks dont absorb it do they?
(09:54:14) (Raleigh) i give it away soon as it hits my hand so funny /
(09:54:21) (Alec) Cris, what are the properties of a sapphire?
(09:54:27) (Cris) Agate absorbs dye very well and it can also be heat treated
(09:54:30) (Raleigh) well ty cris rub off the dye / good 1
(09:54:34) (Julia) oh
(09:54:46) (Julia) well thats good to know
(09:55:01) (Rosie) so is a dyed stone any less....efficient....than non-dyed?
(09:55:04) (Bill) the dye is generally color fast and is perminant
(09:55:21) (Rosie) or just purtier?
(09:55:26) (Julia) lol
(09:55:32) (Cris) The inside of the bead should be the same color as the outside if it is a natural stone
(09:55:43) (Cris) dyed stones sometimes have a color variation
(09:56:00) (Raleigh) probly best to find a trusted gemologist then huh? / ship me 1lbs lapis please cris / :)
(09:56:05) (Raleigh) c o d /
(09:56:06) (Raleigh) :)
(09:56:13) (Cris) Rosie it is likely to be pawned off as something more expensive
(09:56:21) (Rosie) ahhhh
(09:56:37) (Cris) Sometimes you will start to hear about properties in certain expensive stones you never read about in your books. They look exquisite as they lay out on black or white velvet or satin with the lighting just right to enhance their beauty. This is where common sense sometimes takes a vacation or leave of absence.
(09:56:47) (Julia) sounds like we're better off just going out and digging them ourselves
(09:57:03) (Cris) You can do that easily Julia
(09:57:22) (Rosie) IF you know WHERE, right?
(09:57:33) (Julia) yeah. where would a person go to dig lapis for instance
(09:58:08) (Raleigh) i met some guy last week had a beautiful nz stone necklace he said /// or he was told was rare / trish said they are not /
(09:58:36) (Raleigh) he got burned / i didnt tell him /
(09:58:37) (Bill) lapis isn't that expensive
(09:58:43) (Cris) There are a few locations for that in the US but you have to have permission to be on a landowners property
(09:58:54) (Raleigh) lapis is cheap yes /
(09:59:02) (Alec) funny
(09:59:06) (Alec) it was so coveted in Egypt
(09:59:43) (Cris) You can dig lazulite at Graves Mountain in Lincoln county GA
(10:00:06) (Cris) It is easy to get caught up in the hushed tones that tell you what these beauties can do in your life. There may even be printed sheets detailing the miracles you can expect.
(10:00:24) (Cris) Hold on to your wallet and your mind. Ask to see the specimen that you want in the cold hard light of day. Check it for fractures and chips. Look to see if it has been commercially altered. If you are satisfied with the stone and it is one that you intended to buy purchase it.
(10:00:57) (Cris) If it is something the shop owner or salesperson said would be just as good as what you wanted ask to see the stones you came in for. Again compare several for feel and go for the one that seems to suit your use.
(10:01:20) (Cris) Once you have selected the stones you came to buy look at the rest of the merchandise with an open mind. I say open because that shopkeeper usually in the business to make money so you can expect to hear the virtues of healing wands. The might be quartz, fluorite or some other stone carefully cut into a long crystal wand shape with a rounded end. These wands are shaped stones. They won’t help any better than a regular crystal or polished stone.
(10:01:28) (Raleigh) i want to know why you said uncut cris/
(10:01:58) (Cris) because of price Ral not everyone needs a gemstone for healing
(10:02:09) (Raleigh) i buy rough always / but /
(10:02:16) (Raleigh) oh ok /
(10:02:43) (Cris) You might even be led to the special section of Tibetan or Lemurian healing crystals all with little cards touting magical properties. Keep an open mind and remember that these stones might not be exactly as advertised. Some may indeed be from Brazil, Tibet or Madagascar. It is also possible that the shopkeeper thinks they are. I have seen Herkimer diamonds (quartz crystals mined in Western NY) sold as Tibetan. I’ve also seen Arkansas quartz sold as imported.
(10:03:07) (Alec) geez
(10:03:24) (Cris) Not every shop owner is an expert and they often rely on informed sources
(10:03:33) (Rosie) how can you tell if it's Arkansan...?
(10:03:41) (Raleigh) :)
(10:03:55) (Raleigh) yeah cris how ?
(10:03:58) (Cris) The clarity and staining varies from one country to another
(10:04:12) (Raleigh) without chemical tests or sunthin /
(10:04:16) (anonymoo) It has a long drawl lol
(10:04:22) (Rosie) lol
(10:04:24) (Raleigh) lol
(10:04:32) (anonymoo) and slow to respond
(10:04:35) (Cris) Arkansas quartz has a specific feel for me Brazilian quartz is clearer with a finer feel
(10:04:54) (Raleigh) just study it big on the net before you buy huh?
(10:05:16) (Cris) Don't use the net use your common sense
(10:05:34) (Cris) If you think the crystals are genuine, and some will be, hold it to see if you feel anything before shoving cash in exchange for your stone. Again ask to see it in the light of day not under special lights made to enhance the stone.
(10:06:11) (Cris) If you feel overwhelmed leave and go some place to clear your head for an hour or so before coming back to buy. The smell of incense, chanting or music in the background is all designed to keep your attention on the merchandise. If you are a merchant it’s good for business. Unless you want buyer’s remorse when the credit card bill comes in you need to remember your original mission of specific stones. You can always buy more at a later date.
(10:06:30) (Julia) well how expensive are these stones anyway?
(10:06:49) (Raleigh) are the big shows generally fair ?
(10:06:57) (Cris) They can range from a dollar or so to several hundred dollars
(10:07:29) (Julia) wow. i dont think Id be inclined to spend more than a couple of bucks on a rock
(10:07:52) (Cris) At a crystal shop. At a show they will be much cheaper but they won't be on black velvet
(10:07:57) (Raleigh) gems are so very special julia /
(10:08:28) (Raleigh) i was proven that / cayce speaks of gem power as well /
(10:08:37) (Cris) You can also go to rock swaps and find wonderful bargains
(10:08:49) (Julia) i can find pretty rocks at the beach, no problem.
(10:09:04) (Raleigh) its a vibration deal /
(10:09:41) (Raleigh) an atom thing too/ design / as like lapis hmm / emerald is a hexagon /
(10:09:55) (Cris) Our grab bags for the show this year have garnet, emerald rough, crystals, some opal and an assortment of other filler material
(10:10:19) (Cris) All labeled so the kids know what they have
(10:10:40) (Cris) Some shops are helpful and some of the people that run them are wonderful. They might even prevent you from making a mistake or over buying. There won’t be a push for a popular crystal or a reader on hand to tell you what you need. Instead you will walk out feeling that you have made a new friend who can assist you in your journey to find the stones meant to be in your life.
(10:11:09) (Alec) that is the sign of a good businessman/woman in myopinion
(10:11:13) (Alec) integrity
(10:11:25) (Raleigh) search power of gemstones cayce julia / you will see //
(10:11:59) (Julia) yes I remember several readings on gemstones
(10:12:24) (Cris) I wasn't trying to be hard on metaphysical shops but some I've been to have amazed me with misinformation
(10:12:28) (Julia) well, more on a condition a person had and a gemstone was given as part of the healing process
(10:13:21) (Cris) Stones aid in the healing with compatible vibrations
(10:13:51) (Cris) If there are no questions it is open chat
(10:14:14) (Alec) very informative, Cris, thank you : )
(10:14:17) (Raleigh) can we buy all our stones from you / :)
(10:14:22) (Julia) can u explain more about the vibrations. how does that work exactly? Are they filtered THROUGH the stone, or does the stone draw them to the person somehow or how does that work?
(10:14:25) (Raleigh) yes ty cris //
(10:14:25) (merri) thankyou for all the info Cris
(10:14:31) (Cris) No I give mine away
(10:14:35) (Julia) yes that was really informative thanks cris
(10:14:37) (Bill) Thank you Cris good info
(10:14:41) (Raleigh) me too!
(10:14:49) (anonymoo) in that vein cris I had a bad dream and afterwards i dreamt of gemstones in a specific arrangment how about that
(10:15:00) (Raleigh) why is that cris lapis melts in my hand ?
(10:15:01) (Cris) Julia stones vibrate according to their atomic structure
(10:15:08) (Cris) so does our bodies
(10:15:36) (Julia) so we need to find a stone that vibrates opposite our own body's vibration, or the same, or how do we know what we need?
(10:15:39) (Cris) certain stones work in tune with our body vibrations to help heal
(10:15:55) (Raleigh) i see it like its a wsstone big as you julia / if the stone is warm it warms you /
(10:16:02) (Julia) they add their own vibrations to ours?
(10:16:19) (Cris) Their vibrations work with ours
(10:16:22) (Raleigh) then cayce spoke of they are a focus point as well /
(10:16:24) (Bill) Julia if a stone isn't ment to be yours it will most likely get lost
(10:16:25) (Julia) interesting.
(10:16:50) (Julia) i believe that bill.
(10:17:08) (Julia) i think that works for other things too
(10:17:26) (Julia) Cris, how do you know what stone/vibration the body needs for which condition?
(10:17:44) (Cris) There are several good books on crystal healing
(10:17:53) (Raleigh) more like it finds you bill /
(10:18:08) (Julia) have you had the experience of healing with a stone Cris?
(10:18:14) (Raleigh) i have a case in point / ill type it up brb/
(10:18:19) (Cris) There are usually seveal stones for any given condition so you can try them on for size
(10:18:35) (Cris) You can feel a stone when it is compatible with you
(10:18:50) (Bill) rose quartz for you Julia
(10:18:58) (Cris) I should say you develop the feel
(10:19:03) (Julia) oh i have one of those Bill, i LOVE that stone. yes.
(10:19:11) (Julia) a friend bought it for me some years ago
(10:19:20) (Cris) I didn't always feel the change when I was young
(10:19:31) (anonymoo) hope that does it for her Bill :)
(10:19:52) (Cris) try garnet too Julia
(10:20:01) (Rosie) that's cuz it's the LOVE stone, jules
(10:20:12) (Julia) Cris have you healed or been healed with a stone's vibrations from anything? Or do u use them for other things like meditation?
(10:20:20) (Julia) ahuh Rosie! :-)
(10:20:32) (Cris) I've used them for migraines
(10:20:32) (Julia) yes garnet and ruby too, ruby is my birthstone i guess
(10:20:37) (Raleigh) so i was passing through a jewlery case / a big 1 / second hand store / like a thousand rings / 1 "screamed at me / pale blue labradorite / // i thought that is for roz / so i bought it for her not knowing its proprty / it is a very very metaphysic stone / see my experience ?
(10:20:52) (Julia) awesome, thanks for answering all the questions i had and for the information
(10:21:15) (anonymoo) what month is that Julia July or August?
(10:21:20) (Raleigh) the stones find you i feel /
(10:21:26) (Cris) Lilith thinks rose quartz helpedher get over her throat surgery
(10:21:31) (Julia) late July
(10:21:41) (Julia) oh really, wow
(10:21:44) (Cris) Ruby is for July
(10:23:58) (Cris) Remember that stones are a focusing tool for your body to heal itself
(10:24:12) (Alec) it works as an enhancer then, Cris?
(10:24:41) (Cris) Yes but they can help repel some people
(10:24:56) (Alec) hm
(10:25:09) (Cris) If you have someone who always tires you out wear or carry turquoise
(10:25:29) (Alec) doesnt turquoise soothe the nervous system?
(10:25:34) (Raleigh) some enhance meditation / a dark green 1 does that cayce said / i space the name /
(10:25:46) (Bill) ask Rosie she keeps a few lbs. around
(10:25:56) (Cris) Turquoise has a lot of nice properties
(10:26:32) (Rosie) I'm not a person who really feels the vibes of stones....but I really DO like turquoise!
(10:26:35) (Julia) my mean ex mother in law wore a LOT of turqoise, so now i have bad associations with it.
(10:27:14) (Julia) maybe i could try to make friends with it again or something
(10:27:20) (Bill) it worked Julia it warded you off :o)
(10:27:22) (Cris) You have associations with stones just like you do anything else in life
(10:27:27) (Julia) oh ha ha ha bill
(10:27:37) (Raleigh) lol
(10:28:36) (Cris) I will give a recap of the healing stones conference before we start next week
(10:28:48) (Alec) thanks again, Cris
(10:29:28) (Rosie) yes....thanks so much, cris!
(10:29:41) (anonymoo) ty cris have some fun!
(10:29:45) (Julia) thanks cris, really interesting
(10:30:05) (Raleigh) any gemstone questions kc?
(10:30:15) (anonymoo) a little razzle dazzle kind of fun
(10:30:52) (Cris) There is a beach renourishment plan so there are lots of shells and fossils if the website is right
(10:34:29) (Raleigh) what is 1 of your fav gems and why cris?
(10:34:45) (Raleigh) as i said im lapis /
(10:35:01) (Cris) My favorite is some of the beautiful agates
(10:35:17) (Raleigh) what colors?
(10:35:19) (Cris) Also jade
(10:35:19) (Bill) agates in general are my fav. as well

(10:35:36) (anonymoo) cris have you ever heard or seen of blue goldstone?
(10:35:37) (Raleigh) oregon coast /
(10:35:41) (Cris) Agates cut beautifully
(10:35:52) (Alec) would it be true that the stones we are most drawn to reflect a dominant color(s) in our auras?
(10:35:56) (Julia) oregon, i used to live in Coos Bay/North Bend, there are some cool beaches there
(10:35:56) (Rosie) bottom line is: just ask cris to come help you pick out a good stone for the price...no road trip is TOO FAR for her! ;-)
(10:36:00) (Cris) not the blue just the regular
(10:36:12) (Raleigh) dark red 1z there all over /
(10:36:26) (Cris) I wish Rosie - right now I'm still a caregiver
(10:36:35) (Bill) many healing propertys in agates and they have great diversity in colour
(10:36:55) (Julia) what do agates heal?
(10:36:58) (Julia) help heal
(10:36:58) (Cris) sometimes that is true Alec but not always
(10:37:03) (Alec) hmmm
(10:37:04) (Rosie) I know :-)....just thinking indeally
(10:37:06) (anonymoo) I was wondering if it was a genuine stone as it is quite attractive

(10:39:35) (Julia) ok thanks
(10:39:40) (Raleigh) what is a gem that heals overall?
(10:39:47) (Cris) It depends on a specific condition
(10:40:01) (Bill) any old rock you pick up Ral if you truly think it will help it will what we think we manifest
(10:40:06) (Raleigh) how bout a total meltdown?
(10:40:08) (Raleigh) lol
(10:40:39) (Alec) i think a stone with properties that can help a certain condition may work faster than picking up a chunk of asphault and believing it will work
(10:40:41) (WalksInSpirit) I love Quartz, Turquoise, Diamond, Lapis, Ruby, Garnet.
(10:40:41) (Raleigh) probly grreen
(10:40:50) (Raleigh) thats healing right?

(10:41:29) (Alec) i stand by blue :-p
(10:41:39) (Raleigh) cayce said green /
(10:41:46) (Bill) blue is a good colour
(10:41:53) (anonymoo) both green and blue are healing colors
(10:41:55) (Alec) ill look taht up tonight to see
(10:42:00) (Julia) blue is my favorite

(10:34:45) (Raleigh) as i said im lapis /
(10:35:01) (Cris) My favorite is some of the beautiful agates
(10:35:17) (Raleigh) what colors?
(10:35:19) (Cris) Also jade
(10:35:19) (Bill) agates in general are my fav. as well
(10:35:31) (Raleigh) we have agate beach close here /
(10:35:36) (anonymoo) cris have you ever heard or seen of blue goldstone?
(10:37:07) (Rosie) or ideally
(10:37:19) (Raleigh) yeah i didnt know agates were so special / they are then?
(10:38:39) (Cris) agates can stabelize the aura
(10:38:50) (Raleigh) hmmm / k
(10:38:58) (Julia) are there any stones that aid in meditating?
(10:39:01) (Cris) They also help with emotions and help ground you
(10:39:16) (Bill) amythist
(10:39:19) (Cris) any stone you are drawn to
(10:39:19) (Raleigh) how bout a greneal healing stone cris?
(10:39:31) (Cris) amethyst, clear quartz
(10:41:01) (Alec) its cleansing and balancing, Ral
(10:41:04) (WalksInSpirit) White Beryl is pretty, too.
(10:41:06) (Alec) blue is the healing color
(10:41:17) (Bill) green
(10:41:24) (Raleigh) green is
(10:41:29) (Alec) i stand by blue :-p
(10:41:39) (Raleigh) cayce said green /
(10:41:46) (Bill) blue is a good colour
(10:41:53) (anonymoo) both green and blue are healing colors
(10:41:55) (Alec) ill look taht up tonight to see
(10:42:00) (Julia) blue is my favorite
(10:42:04) (Alec) lol touche anon

(10:42:23) (anonymoo) I guess its turqoise alec lol
(10:42:28) (Alec) lol
(10:43:01) (Cris) Have to go Blessings all
