Health Chat: 08-23-05
"The Stomach"
(08:15:50) (Host-Nick) Has anyone any health questions?
(08:16:18) (vjh) What to do about tension headaches and tension tiredness?
(08:18:39) (Host-Nick) Food combinations, aminoacids, both esstential and auxiliary, proteinds, fats oils, and .......
(08:22:18) (Host-Nick) Alkalinize and reduce the bloodstream, food combinations and deep breathing. (I hope) :o)
(08:23:40) (Host-Nick) Has anyone any health questions?
(08:24:35) (Host-Nick) OK we'll treat the stomach tongith then
(08:24:43) (merri) Bear says: is there a difference between tension and stress
(08:25:05) (Tug) Nick..are there herbs that can dissolve clots?
(08:25:32) (Host-Nick) heh, heh I kne that would get the questions rolling :o)
(08:26:32) (Host-Nick) Tension would be a nervous condition of excess contraction, or also a phase in a natural cycle of tension and relaxation which all moving parts should undergo.
(08:27:26) (Host-Nick) Stress, would be a fight or flight response to an emergency which the body has become acustomned to by a nervous condition whether physical or psychological.
(08:27:58) (Host-Nick) Dissolving clots is something to be treated with caution. You must be very careful not to breal off pieces of a clot.
(08:28:07) (Bear) grapefruit anti coagulant
(08:28:08) (Host-Nick) break
(08:28:45) (Bear) some simularities in the tension stress thanks
(08:29:25) (Host-Nick) Also bilberry extract. However this is something that needs to be approached viewing the patient as a whole, since the danger of a blood clot entering one of the coronaries or the carotid artery and going to the brain is of concern.
(08:29:33) (Tug) already takig meds for small clots from a stroke and they swell my legs
(08:30:49) (Cris) Onions are supposed to help reduce clots
(08:31:08) (Host-Nick) The best thing here, Tug would be to alkalinize your bloodstream by means of proper food combinations. An alkaline blood system can dissolve more oils, fats, clots and junk than an acidic one.
(08:31:36) (Tug) bilberry extract, is that liquid or what?
(08:32:21) (Host-Nick) It is the extrat of a plant, used in herbal medicine.....
(08:33:17) (Bear) is your blood type o tug
(08:33:33) (Bear) nick is your blood type B
(08:34:00) (Tug) I'll talk to my doc about the alkaline thingB
(08:34:05) (Tug) B
(08:34:12) (Bear) I don't know my blood type
(08:34:36) (Bear) oh type B strong immune system
(08:35:42) (merri) interesting Bear, I'm type B also and hardly ever catch colds
(08:35:44) (Bear) as long as balanced
(08:35:45) (Host-Nick) Mine is AB, Bear. Bilberry used for constipation, diarrhea and vomiting, but also rich on antioxidants. The cardiovascular part of the bilberry works on the capillaries, where the wear and tear on the tissues takes place.
(08:35:48) (WalksInSpirit) What about type o, Bear?
(08:36:48) (Bear) strong personality type O amoung other things
(08:37:17) (Bear) type AB combines benifits of A and B
(08:37:22) (Host-Nick) It promotes circulation to the connective tissues, helps remove atherosclerotic deposits like Concord grape juice and blueberries do, as well as promoting the blood supply to the eyes.
(08:38:01) (Cris) I just pulled out my EC Remedy book to look up clots it says to eat a high vitamin diet, and use a castor oil pack over the affected area
(08:38:51) (Host-Nick) Bilberry is a berry, so you are not harming a plant or animal and can indulge. it rpomotes peristaltic motions, but if you eat handfulls of them you will visit the throne more than you would want to. :oP
(08:39:18) (Cris) I've also hear different hands on healing methods work as well. This would be something like Reiki or Healing Touch and there are others
(08:40:57) (Host-Nick) In the case of blood clots, there has been a long term inability of the blood to keep itself dissolved. This can be due to things like lack of vitamin B-12 of excess iron, acidity, or even lack of proper digestion of fats because of poor bile production by an overworked liver.
(08:41:57) (Host-Nick) Deep breathing following yoga principles is something than cannot hurt.
(08:43:50) (Host-Nick) There are two books on alkalinization and food combinations which you could get from the ARE bookstore, Alkalinize or Die by Ted Baroody, a bit fire and brimstone but lots of useful info; more Cayce readings oriented is Nourishing the Body Temple by Simone Gabbay.
(08:44:19) (Franky) what about eat right 4 your type?
(08:44:56) (merri) referring to blood type?
(08:45:11) (Franky) yes, is that a good book?
(08:45:25) (Host-Nick) If healthy by all means, although watch the food combinations.
(08:46:12) (merri) read somethings on it eating according to your blood type...the foods suggested for me are all the ones I don't like..lol
(08:46:28) (Host-Nick) As well as the food you eat it is the combinations which can make you sick, like fruits and sugars and meat at the same meal
(08:47:12) (Roz) no desserts after dinner?
(08:47:17) (Franky) Nick-that eat right book says A type blood should avoid wheat products. I love wheat products.
(08:47:40) (Bill) Roz always eat desert first to make sure you have room
(08:47:41) (Franky) I love just about all grain products
(08:47:48) (merri) wait 4 hrs for dessert, Roz
(08:47:57) (Bear) thats for weight loss
(08:48:09) (Host-Nick) Chew it well and don't eat meats with it and you will be fine.
(08:48:34) (Roz) 4 hours ready for another meal
(08:48:48) (Host-Nick) What type of clots were you diagnosed with Tug?
(08:49:13) (Tug) small ones in my leg
(08:50:26) (Host-Nick) What exercise do you do, Tug?
(08:51:56) (Tug) lots of walking. The only thing that was really affected
(08:52:35) (Host-Nick) You see a castor oil pack would usually be recommended for almost any poor circulation condition like extremities or inflammations, but clots are very dangerous since if they break off they can end up blocking critical blood vessels.
(08:52:44) (WalksInSpirit) Do you have any stents in your legs, Tug?
(08:52:44) (Tug) I tire easily, but its getting better
(08:53:17) (Cris) That's what it said to do in the EC Remedy book Nick
(08:53:32) (Host-Nick) You should probably start doing yoga exercises, since the walking may be exacerbating a sciatic condition. You may have poor circulation in the pelvic area.
(08:54:04) (Tug) i'm aqlso taqking blood thinner
(08:54:15) (merlin) coumadin
(08:54:24) (Bill) asprin?
(08:54:25) (Host-Nick) Yes, but with clots, one does not know what they are made of nor how they will flow or where they will end up if they break off.
(08:54:57) (Host-Nick) Are you a vegetarian, Tug?
(08:55:04) (Tug) I'm also taking bloos thinnerno
(08:55:17) (Host-Nick) It is beter to be on the safe side, :o)
(08:55:58) (Tug) again..taking blood thinner..no vegaa
(08:56:27) (Franky) Nick- what can you suggest i eat after a 15 mile run? I usually eat two slices of "Health Nut" bread spread with peanut butter, two eggs over hard, romaine lettuce. I usually recover well, but perhaps I'm missing something.
(08:56:47) (Host-Nick) It might help to get your protein and meat nutrition from beef tea, rather than eat an entire steak for meat and tissue nutrition.
(08:58:02) (Host-Nick) This is made by taking a steak of round, chopping it into tiny cubes and placing it in a glass dish with a glass cover, heating in a saucepan with boiling water with a cloth undeneath so the glass does not shatter, for an hour and a half.
(08:59:35) (Host-Nick) After cooling, sip a tablesthingyful of the beef tea three times a day. Now this beef tea needs to be strained and kept in a glass or enamel contained in the fridge for three days while in use.
(09:00:13) (Tug) WIS, what are stents?
(09:00:32) (Host-Nick) You avoid overworking you liver, kidneys and elimnation systems by drinking beef tea, also you do not get the light greasy artery-clogging fatsinto your bloodstream.
(09:00:55) (WalksInSpirit) They are inserted in the arteries & veins of the legs to unstop blockages. My Aunt had that done. I thought you might have had that done as well.
(09:01:23) (Tug) no I didn't WIS
(09:02:42) (Tug) I'm told they are small and they are supposed to be delolving
(09:02:55) (ron) i don't know how much value there is in this..but i thought i read in the EC readings that olive/peanut oil rub on those artieries and veins in the legs...is that true?
(09:03:03) (Tug) desplving
(09:03:22) (ron) would be a help in removal
(09:03:23) (Host-Nick) Lots of salad Bear, to start reducing a lifetime of nutritional naughtiness :o)
(09:03:26) (merlin) are u trying to say desolving?
(09:03:37) (Tug) y
(09:03:39) (Cris) Massage was also mentioned in the remedy book
(09:04:37) (Bear) letus for filler in a half hour i'd have burnt all the energy off
(09:05:23) (Cris) Try chocolate Bear - it works for me
(09:05:25) (Host-Nick) You could try eating brown rice and chewing every mouthful 100 times like the macrobiotics. :o)
(09:06:11) (WalksInSpirit) They are saying now that dark chocolate is good for you.
(09:06:12) (Host-Nick) Did someone mention chocolate? :o)
(09:06:13) (Bear) I'd wear my teeth out
(09:06:22) (WalksInSpirit) :-D @ Nick
(09:06:25) (Theophilus) of course it is WIS
(09:06:26) (merri) lol
(09:06:29) (ernie) i like
(09:06:30) (merlin) my mouth is watering
(09:06:43) (ernie) it almost as much as?
(09:07:01) (merri) didn't you know that, WIS?
(09:07:21) (merri) Us chocolate lovers have known that for some time!
(09:07:27) (WalksInSpirit) Yep! I knew it the whole time! ;-)
(09:07:30) (ernie) si
(09:07:36) (Theophilus) absolutely Merri
(09:07:40) (Rosie) for some reason lately I've been much more conscious of chewing my food more thoroughly...dunno why...maybe I had some dream instruction or something
(09:07:46) (merlin) once in a while even a little bittersweet
(09:07:54) (WalksInSpirit) Yeah, Merlin!
(09:08:00) (merri) it's an antioxident
(09:08:00) (WalksInSpirit) I like that too
(09:08:05) (Host-Nick) Mostly with chocolate it is the sugar that is added to the chocolate that is bad for you.
(09:08:47) (WalksInSpirit) And the cooking process that milk chocolate goes through
(09:09:02) (Rosie) seems I read long ago that the way most chocolate is processed...with alkaloids or something...is not good for you
(09:09:16) (ernie) yea and the beaners are light in color and only darken after roasting si nick
(09:09:27) (Theophilus) ya gotta stop reading then Rosie
(09:09:34) (Rosie) but then we all know that if we worry that something will be bad for us it probably will be :o)
(09:09:46) (ernie) lol
(09:09:56) (Rosie) mind is the builder
(09:10:12) (WalksInSpirit) Here's a secret... pray over your food. Bless it. Then, it is good for you!
(09:10:16) (ernie) and also the unbuilder
(09:10:17) (Tug) or the destroyer
(09:10:40) (Rosie) yep
(09:10:40) (Host-Nick) Organic Cocoa from Ah-laska is the best caffeine. Green tea is a better antioxidant and coffee gives you more physical energy.
(09:10:55) (ernie) yes bless your drinking and bathing water too
(09:11:04) (WalksInSpirit) Right on, Ernie!
(09:11:05) (Theophilus) there is now a report out (no joke) that there is a higher incidence of breast cancer among women who are lots of french fires while young
(09:11:06) (ron) coffe...who said coffee
(09:12:22) (ron) i avoid french fires no adays
(09:13:03) (ernie) avoid fried foods
(09:13:05) (Host-Nick) Caffeine is addictive, there are worse things. Now, if you mix the sources of caffeine is does not tax the system as much.
(09:13:16) (WalksInSpirit) I Eat french fries every now & then (and Blu fusses at me)
(09:13:27) (merlin) if one wants fire eat hot habaneros
(09:13:44) (ernie) love a good fri
(09:13:50) (WalksInSpirit) Yep, Merlin! That'll do it!
(09:14:00) (Host-Nick) *He says, while preparing an rich strong caoffee, green tea thick enough yto use as glue and cocoa soymilk you could walk on* :o)
(09:14:48) (merlin) it will have u exhaling fire ,just like a dragon
(09:15:31) (WalksInSpirit) Merlin, me & my Dad used to have contests to see who could eat the most Habeneros

(09:16:16) (WalksInSpirit) I have a cast-iron stomach
(09:16:21) (ernie) lol i love hot stuff
(09:17:08) (Host-Nick) Has anyone any health questions?
(09:17:10) (WalksInSpirit) Back home, we put Tobasco on our eggs for breakfast.
(09:17:23) (ron) when i was a kid i used to eat home made horse radish spread...it was so powerful that it would hit me in the back of my neck...then struggle to get my next breath
(09:17:47) (merri) geeez ron!
(09:17:51) (Host-Nick) Horse radish is great stuff.
(09:17:54) (ron) lol
(09:17:57) (ernie) sounds good
(09:18:00) (merri) I love horseradish
(09:18:03) (merlin) home made ron / that's quite a punch
(09:18:07) (Tug) love it with prime rib
(09:18:11) (ron) great stuff, i know nick
(09:18:17) (merlin) now the bottled stuff i like
(09:18:26) (ron) you're not kiddin
(09:18:27) (merri) we found a little store that makes their own
(09:18:47) (merri) it packs quite a punch!
(09:19:30) (ron) then i'd say whoa here...and take another bite
(09:19:58) (merlin) pungent , huh ron
(09:20:12) (ron) we used to put it on hamburgers
(09:20:21) (merri) it sure clears the sinuses, ron
(09:20:30) (Host-Nick) Could be worse, try eating a mouthful of garlic and then giving a speech :o)
(09:20:30) (ron) talking about a knockout
(09:20:35) (merlin) that would kill the carcinogens
(09:20:41) (Tug) i was raised on homemade hr
(09:20:49) (ron) merri lol
(09:21:00) (Theophilus) love garlic
(09:21:15) (Theophilus) have few friends as a result
(09:21:17) (ernie) me to
(09:21:21) (Host-Nick) lmao
(09:21:25) (merlin) don't forget that garlic in te gazpacho
(09:21:50) (WalksInSpirit) But, on the bright side, you're not a vampire, nor are you bothered by them, Theo!
(09:21:54) (ron) while in Germany i was introduced to cheap cognac...my eyes were crossed for the whole following day :)
(09:22:01) (Theophilus) good point WIS
(09:25:13) (Host-Nick) Has anyone any health questions?
(09:26:12) (Bill) Tug if your taking blood thinners take it easy on the garlic and V E as they are also blood thinners
(09:27:05) (Host-Nick) Ask your doctor also, what you shpould do about wathing the typoes of oils and fats you ingest, Tug.
(09:27:51) (Tug) watch my diet closely....diabetic
(09:28:05) (WalksInSpirit) Thank you for a great chat, Nick!
(09:28:50) (Tug) thanks for the advice Nick
(09:28:50) (ernie) yes thaank you nick
(09:29:36) (Nick) That is the most critical information, Tug. You should try to eat Jerusalem artichokes when possible, since they contanin a vital protein in building the cells which form the Isles of Langerhans which secrete insulin.
(09:30:29) (Tug) no insulin..just pills
(09:30:50) (Tug) Glyburide
(09:32:34) (Nick) You do not have diabetes mellitus, then Tug, am I right?
(09:33:13) (Tug) correct Nick..the mildness kind
(09:34:11) (Nick) You would benefit from castor oil packs over the lower part of the stomach region. This is a topical application of an oil which promotes circulation.
