"The Liver And The Gall Bladder"
(08:18:31) (Nick) It seems everyone is healthy tonight, so we shall start with the liver and its incredible number of functions.
(08:23:17) (Nick) The liver's first function is to store the food digested in the intestines, which reach it by means of a vast number of capillaries and venules from the intestinal area to the liver.
(08:24:28) (Nick) A few nutrients, like simple sugars and minerals and water enter the bloodstream through the stomach walls, the rest area digested in the stomach and then sent to the intestines.
(08:25:45) (Nick) The liver then filters what enters the bloodstream after it. It becomes a gate. It stops badly-digested foods and toxins from entering the system, for the most part.
(08:27:20) (Roz) what does painkillers do to the liver
(08:27:25) (Nick) Carbohydrates are transformed into glucogen which is liver sugar. This glucogen nourishes the muscles and the rest of the organism.
(08:28:33) (Nick) Painkillers can deaden the nerves after enough are sent at one time to exceed the liver's capacity of blocking their entrance to the system.
(08:29:29) (Roz) constrict the liver function?
(08:31:12) (Nick) Excess glucogen is transformed into fats. Yes that accumulation which tends to slow one down. It does protect one in the wintertime from the cold, but in summertime it expands our bathing suits.
(08:32:01) (Nick) What drugs do is doen after they are given in enough quantity to exceed the liver's filtering ability.
(08:32:20) (Roz) okie thanks
(08:37:40) (Nick) Another function of the liver is to assmiliate the fats and oils absorbed by the intestines. For these oils and fats to be assimilated they must be emulsified by the bile in the upper portion of the small intestine before they enter the middle part to be absorbed.
(08:38:14) (Nick) The bile is a stronglu alkaline liquid produced by the liver and stored in the gall bladder.
(08:39:57) (Nick) If, however the body's blood is too acidic, the liver is not able to produce bile which is alkaline enough to emulsify the oils and fats. This results in poor oil chemistry which shows up in a lot of disorders.
(08:41:44) (Nick) The Cayce readings spoke often of a body's inability to absorb the right fats for nerve building. The usual suggestions in these cases were castor oil packs over the right side of the lower abdomen, up to the liver. his is because this area has the greatest concentration of Peyer's patches in the walls of the villii.
(08:43:20) (Nick) Along with these recommendations it was usual to suggest a 3 days apples diet or another means of cleansing and detoxifying the body. Mostly colonic cleanseing was suggested, this being a remedy for cases of extreme toxicity
(08:44:35) (Nick) On top of this the liver absorbs and stores 22 different types of essential aminoacids as well as a host of secondary ones, for use in building cells all over the body.
(08:44:54) (Nick) And this is just the beginning of the liver's daily tasks! :o)
(08:45:05) (Nick) OK have we any questions? :o)
(08:45:45) (Roz) do you recommend amino acid supplements
(08:47:04) (Nick) It is better to have a healthy digestive system capable of absorbing the needed nutrients, and a healthy liver to make the ones needed.
(08:51:48) (Nick) The liver also serves as the giant warehouse for the body as a whole. It aslo stores the vitamins, both the oil based and the water based types.
(08:53:18) (Roz) thot water based ones not needed went out w/ the urine
(08:55:12) (Nick) All digestions and all biological processes leave wastes behind. Some of these toxins are secreted with the bile that is formed for digestion. In this way, these toxins will be excreted through the digestive tract rather than through the blood and the kidneys.
(08:57:26) (Nick) So as to not overwork the kidneys. They are remarkable filters, but there are some things which they are best not subjected to. These things are excreted thruohg the bile to the digestive system.
(08:58:42) (Nick) Now, if the toxins are too many and too acidic, then the bile itself becomes more acidic and then cannot properly neutralized the chyme from the stomach. This in turn leads to improper digestion.
(08:59:07) (ernie) and poisining?
(08:59:29) (ernie) a little upset stomach?
(08:59:33) (Nick) Eventually, yes, acidification of the body and the bloodstream.
(08:59:55) (ernie) will cause problems in many ways si
(09:00:18) (Nick) All that which is not properly digested starts to ferment. It is these fermentations which are the major source of acidity in the body.
(09:00:57) (ernie) ok so is eating to much antacids could be bad for you
(09:01:00) (Nick) Some foods will ferment no matter how healthy you are. Best avoided unless you are in the absolute best health.
(09:01:14) (ernie) like the purple pill type medicine
(09:01:29) (ernie) acid blockers i mean
(09:01:41) (Nick) Better to drink lots of water to promote better hydrochloric acid production than suffer through acidic foods.
(09:02:08) (Roz) what kinds of foods Nick
(09:02:09) (ernie) ok
(09:02:33) (Nick) OK, any questions about the material on the liver and the gall bladder?
(09:03:27) (Nick) White flour, refined sugar, meats, for example.
(09:04:48) (ron) is there anything of value with that Splenda?
(09:04:49) (Roz) burritos?
(09:05:32) (Nick) Honestly, I have no idea what Splenda is.
(09:05:47) (merlin) sugar substitute
(09:06:06) (ron) some kind of sweetner...is it really a sugar substitue?
(09:06:08) (Nick) A burrito would depend on what flour it is made from and what food combination is inside the tortilla.
(09:06:30) (ron) they say it is made from sugar
(09:06:41) (ron) isn't it?
(09:06:44) (Nick) I have no idea.
(09:07:12) (WalksInSpirit) Yep. It tastes terrible.
(09:07:18) (merlin) could be it is half regular sugar
(09:07:33) (ron) i see
(09:09:52) (Nick) OK, has anyone any health questions?
(09:11:43) (patricia) thank you Nick
(09:11:50) (WalksInSpirit) Thank you, Nick!
(09:12:04) (merlin) ty nick
(09:12:09) (ron) a very informative session nick
(09:13:16) (Roz) yes Nick thanks
(09:13:51) (mark) thank you Nick
