(09:34:32) (Bill) “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock; if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.” Rev. 3.20.
(09:36:32) (Bill) Why shrinkest thou, my soul? Doth thou not know new strength comes but by faith And faith renewed, and effort newly made? And couldst thou even dare to hope to catch The faintest glimpse of the Ineffable, If thou doth not stretch out to thy full length The helping hand to open wide the door? (By Mrs. 2118 for this lesson)
(09:37:55) (Bill) Introduction ~ The kingdom of God, the glory of the oneness in the Infinite, is the eternal
(09:38:00) (Solya) Thank you for sharing beauty, Bill.
(09:38:09) (Bill) destiny of every soul, the ultimate goal of every entity, regardless of his place or position in the seemingly complex scheme of things. In each there is felt that urge to press on.
(09:38:46) (Bill) Through ignorance and misunderstanding many seek only the gratification of selfish desires, fighting, struggling, as it were, against the inflexible laws which an all-wise Creator has set. Eventually, each struggling soul must face the realities of life and make his will one with that of the divine Maker. With this comes peace in the realization of “I and my Father are one”. (John 10.30.)
(09:40:03) (Bill) The door to the kingdom of the Father is through the life, the Spirit of the life, manifested in the Christ Consciousness in the material world. It is opened only by the efforts of an individual. Throughout the previous lessons, continual emphasis has been placed upon the awakening of the Christ Consciousness.
(09:40:45) (Bill) Each lesson has presented some attribute of the soul, some faculty of the inner self, which, if magnified in the conscious activities of the individual day by day, will add to and strengthen the growth of the soul’s expression through the physical man. May we not ask these questions? Who, then, of us has learned to be truly cooperative one with another?
(09:41:18) (Bill) ? Who has learned himself sufficiently to know wherein he stands in relation to his fellow man? Who has set the ideal wholly in Him? Who has magnified the faith in the Father and in the Son, that it may be accounted to him for righteousness? Who has virtue and understanding? Who has fellowship with the Father? Who has in patience possessed his own soul?
(09:42:09) (Bill) The Christ Spirit comes as a result of Christlike action . To each it comes as a realization of the activity of the soul forces. As the creative urge stirs the seed of the flower, just so the activity of the soul expressed through cooperation, a knowledge of self, the ideal set in Him,
(09:42:36) (Bill) faith, virtue, understanding, and patience stirs an individual, and there is upward growth. As the flower in due time blossoms forth, just so the soul of man, through the Christ Spirit, comes into its full power and glory.
(09:43:08) (mark) how would one know if they possesse there own soul?
(09:43:55) (Bill) Mark i think you'd know when the time comes
(09:44:19) (dsr) can I ask about the topic--open the door,,,,what exactly that refers to?
(09:44:24) (Bill) The Preparation of Self ~ The preparation for the way is a preparation of self. Each of us
(09:44:46) (Bill) is the door that He, the Way, may enter. “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock” (Rev. 3.20.)…”I am the way, the truth, and the life.” (John 14.6.)
(09:45:06) (Bill) .) We must work to bring that consciousness, that awareness of His presence, into our material and mental affairs of life. The lesson must ever be, the spirit is the life, the mind is the builder, and the physical is the result.
(09:45:58) (Bill) Only when we completely surrender to the working of the Christ Spirit, can we say truthfully the door to the kingdom within is open. All selfish thoughts must be obliterated and replaced with the desire to be used by Him in carrying out His will in the world.
(09:46:11) (Solya) And how do we work, what is the work to bring that consciousness?
(09:46:17) (One) Cayce also gave, "Mind as expressed by the Christ Consciousness Is The Builder."
(09:46:57) (One) Mind can be the destroyer or builder.
(09:47:12) (Bill) . When we seek our brother’s good, rather than our own, we may expect our reward in proportion to the good we send out. When we become self-centered, we eventually feel that we are being cheated in life. It is then that we close ourselves to the good we might give out, and at the same time, build a barrier to the good that might flow to us.
(09:47:48) (Bill) As we seek to know the way, we must come in singleness of purpose and think not of the hindrances that are man-made; rather, know in whom we have believed and recognize that He has brought all things into being.
(09:48:14) (Bill) As we seek and know this, we are His. In choosing Him, He has chosen us. As we realize we are one with Him, we become workers, pointing others to that joy, peace, and happiness that we have found. Will we not be faithful to the calling wherein He has called us?
(09:48:52) (Bill) How shall we begin? Let us take that which we have in hand, that which we have builded day by day, and, without fear, open the door that He may enter in and abide with us. Faith is the beacon that lights the path to the open door of the Father’s house.
(09:49:26) (Bill) Service is the password that admits us into the banquet hall. Come ye blessed of my Father, enter into the Kingdom prepared for you ~~ for as ye have done unto one of the least of these, thy brethren, so ye did it unto Me. (See Matt. 25:40.)
(09:49:58) (Bill) We have to contend with many conflicting forces when we would have faith and serve others. Selfishness and sensitiveness shut the Ideal from view and prevent a whole-hearted cooperation with our fellow men in our daily lives. They may so retard our development that nothing seems worth while.
(09:50:44) (Bill) These hindering qualities can even bring thoughts of self-destruction. It is only when self is put aside and the Spirit is allowed to lead that we indeed are free and able to accomplish anything that is of real, lasting value. When the thoughts of doubt, lack and self-condemnation begin to creep in, the door begins to close more and more, until not even a ray of light may filter through to light the way.
(09:51:32) (Bill) When these thoughts are allowed to remain in control, there is no despair more terrible. We are shutting out the light and living behind closed doors ~~ closed to God and His goodness. Do we wonder, that where these thoughts are uppermost there are suicides, murders, and sins of every kind in evidence?
(09:52:25) (Bill) Are not many in the world at this time ready to be shown a more perfect way? We show through service that as He overcame the world and became the Way, just so may we, who follow in His steps, overcome all things.
(09:53:46) (Bill) How to Open the Door ~ We must open the door if we would have the Christ enter. As we, with the Christ Consciousness as the standard, manifest
(09:54:10) (Bill) His love in our daily walks in and before men, so we open the door. Then it is that we heed the call to the Spirit within that stands ever ready to commune with us. It does not come in the whirlwind, but as a still, small Voice. If we listen and trust, it will teach us all things and bring all things to our remembrance.
(09:55:05) (Bill) If we would recognize this great Intelligence, this great I AM that knocks for admission into every heart, then let us heed these words: “Ye that have named the Name, make known in thy daily walks, in thy acts, the lessons that have been builded in meditation and prayer”. (P.R. See Matt. 25:40.)
(09:55:39) (lilith) Bill - LOVE that "listen & trust ........ bring all things to our remembrance" ty
(09:56:28) (Bill) And on that note i think we'll call it enough and we can go over any parts you would like if you wish
(09:56:29) (One) when self is conquered all things may come To Light.
(09:57:19) (One) One has little coming while holding on to self.
(09:57:26) (lilith) Bill =- do that bit about :brings all things to our remembrance" please
(09:57:29) (lilith) again
(09:58:37) (One) When the Lambs Book of Life Is Opened.
(09:58:50) (Bill) How to Open the Door ~ We must open the door if we would have the Christ enter. As we, with the Christ Consciousness as the standard, manifest
(09:58:57) (Bill) His love in our daily walks in and before men, so we open the door. Then it is that we heed the call to the Spirit within that stands ever ready to commune with us. It does not come in the whirlwind, but as a still, small Voice. If we listen and trust, it will teach us all things and bring all things to our remembrance.
(09:59:14) (One) Yes that is true Bill.
(09:59:32) (One) Trust in His Will.
(09:59:42) (merri) could you clarify the part about knowing if we possess our own soul
(09:59:53) (One) Trust that thrugh Him All Good Things May Come.
(10:00:19) (lilith) Bill - isn't that "small still voice" the calling to the ministry, etc, too?
(10:00:42) (One) That is the Christ Consciousness.
(10:00:42) (Bill) Okay Merri will post what it says
(10:00:45) (Bill) The door to the kingdom of the Father is through the life, the Spirit of the life, manifested in the Christ Consciousness in the material world. It is opened only by the efforts of an individual. Throughout the previous lessons, continual emphasis has been placed upon the awakening of the Christ Consciousness.
(10:00:56) (One) As one oerceives It in the beginning.
(10:01:04) (Bill) . Each lesson has presented some attribute of the soul, some faculty of the inner self, which, if magnified in the conscious activities of the individual day by day, will add to and strengthen the growth of the soul’s expression through the physical man. May we not ask these questions?
(10:01:34) (One) Before they grow to the point as being so unselfish as to allow the Spirit of Christ to opperate in their stead.
(10:01:45) (Bill) Who has learned himself sufficiently to know wherein he stands in relation to his fellow man? Who has set the ideal wholly in Him? Who has magnified the faith in the Father and in the Son, that it may be accounted to him for righteousness? Who has virtue and understanding? Who has fellowship with the Father? Who has in patience possessed his own soul?
(10:02:59) (merri) hmmm so in patience we possess our soul?
(10:03:01) (Raleigh) i set my 3 ideals as jesus // this was my understanding set ideals in Him
(10:03:22) (Bill) yes Merri with all its attributes
(10:03:26) (One) In thePatience As Expressed In God.
(10:03:26) (Lory) In addition to all those other virtues mentioned, merri.
(10:03:37) (Bill) through the application of the knowledge we've gained
(10:03:45) (One) Yes Bill
(10:04:12) (mark) it could be let our souls possess us,...also?
(10:04:20) (Q) just did a study on that today merri.. if you gain the whole world yet lose your own soul.. its taught as.. if you gain full understanding and wisdom of all the ages.. and yet do not apply or use what has been given you.. then you just as well have condemn your own soul.. because we are to use what gifts are given to us.. and not mock God in it.. by defying him in the use of your fellow human being.. thats how I learned it.. but.. to each his own.. hope it helps.
(10:04:48) (Bill) it is important each of us here relize with this knowledge in these lessons comes responsibility
(10:04:51) (Raleigh) with the practice of patience we know our soul
(10:05:24) (Raleigh) i feel this meanz klnow of
(10:05:40) (lilith) hey! hold up there a bit, okay ?? was always taught that "gaining the whole world meant material gain, as opposed to the application of what we are taught - anyone else?
(10:06:16) (Q) you come into this world naked.. and leave.. all that is taken is what was learned.
(10:06:32) (diane) that's what i think it means, lillith
(10:06:33) (ron) thru the practices of patience we acknowledge the existence of our soul
(10:06:35) (lilith) and losing our soul in pursuit of material things
(10:06:57) (ron) lose contact with our spiritual identity
(10:06:59) (lilith) yup, Diane - would have hard time "unlearning
(10:07:10) (lilith) " that
(10:07:13) (ron) is what i understand by the loss of our soul
(10:07:36) (ron) or, in other words, we closed the door that bill is referring to
(10:08:00) (lilith) saying the same thing, arent we, ron?
(10:08:12) (Q) the spirit.. biblically is the intellect of the soul.. and when you have died.. all that you take... is nothing materiel.. its mental.
(10:08:23) (Bill) We have to contend with many conflicting forces when we would have faith and serve others. Selfishness and sensitiveness shut the Ideal from view and prevent a whole-hearted cooperation with our fellow men in our daily lives. They may so retard our development that nothing seems worth while. These hindering qualities can even bring thoughts of self-destruction.
(10:08:33) (ron) i'm just sharing my interpretion of the above conversation
(10:08:37) (Bill) . When these thoughts are allowed to remain in control, there is no despair more terrible.
(10:08:57) (Bill) . We are shutting out the light and living behind closed doors ~~ closed to God and His goodness. Do we wonder, that where these thoughts are uppermost there are suicides, murders, and sins of every kind in evidence? Are not many in the world at this time ready to be shown a more perfect way? We show through service that as He overcame the world and became the Way, just so may we, who follow in His steps, overcome all things.
(10:09:33) (brbSolya) I´m noticing the last part of a paragraph. When these thoughts are allowed to remain in control .....
(10:09:48) (Bill) posted that as it seemed to sum up Q's statement
(10:10:12) (Q) its worded alot better.. thanks Bill.
(10:10:12) (brbSolya) What if the thoughts come, such as can´t I have any time for myself, and you white light them instead of indulging them? What do you do?
(10:10:18) (Bill) selfish desires Soyla
(10:10:46) (brbSolya) what do you do when selfish desires arise besides white lighting them and preferring the other?
(10:10:52) (BlackWolf) The thoughts which are dwelt on, thsat is, given time to generate their corresponding emotions, are the thoughts which affect our energy fields and our health.
(10:11:08) (Bill) yes BW
(10:11:31) (One) No healing comes outside the Christ Consciousness according to Cayce.
(10:11:36) (brbSolya) Then you don´t have to concerned with the thoughts that just rise up in rebellion if you don´t indulge them? Please, help me understand.
(10:11:40) (Bill) dwell on our highest ideals and build on them
(10:11:45) (Q) its said to choose you this day whom you would serve Solya.. so the choice is yours.
(10:11:48) (lilith) Soyla - those thoughts intrude with any - I believe - motherhood, where one is multi-tasking 24/7, working outside the home, caring for others - whatever the drill calls for - yes, one wants time for self, nothing selfish in that - doctors all say "if you don't take care of yourself, you cannot take care of anyone/anything else"
(10:12:20) (brbSolya) I choose God and others, I apply that, but the rebellious thoughts still arise from time and time. I just white light them and think of God. Is that ok?
(10:12:24) (MaryAnne) Cayce said the same...take care of self..it is not selfish
(10:12:49) (One) Cayce gave once "self" is overcome one may be in a position to hhelp others.
(10:12:57) (lilith) personally believe those thoughts of "rebellion" you say - are pretty much a signal that one has way too much on one's plate & needs/ has to take care of self - its not being selfish, common sense
(10:13:07) (One) Take care of the body.
(10:13:14) (Q) yes Solya.. even Paul said it.. the things I do ,, I find myself not to do.. ftm.. might have the verse.. can't seem to remember it .
(10:13:19) (Bill) Solya no one is exempt from rebelious thoughts they are to be dismissed and replaced buy higher ones
(10:13:22) (One) Physical, mental, spiritual.
(10:13:34) (One) Not the self He was peaking of.
(10:13:36) (brbSolya) It is sooooo much! But its good for me. Even slavery is good for me if I can overcome self.
(10:13:48) (One) The self that leads you all to ddeath.
(10:13:56) (One) That self.
(10:14:03) (lilith) Bill - think we are getting lost in the "rebellious thoughts" - as above, I truly believe it is NOT selfish thought that makes one want some time/any time to oneself
(09:33:08) (Bill) : As the Father knoweth me, so may I know the Father, through the Christ Spirit, the door to the kingdom of the Father. Show Thou me the way! (262-27.) Amen
(09:33:20) (torontal) amen
(09:33:28) (merri) Amen
(09:33:34) (WalksInSpirit) Nunwe
(09:33:40) (diane) Amen
(09:33:40) (mark) Amen
(09:33:53) (One) May it be as so.
(09:33:54) (ron) amen
(09:33:55) (Wanda) Amen
(09:33:57) (Blu) So Be It
(09:34:05) (Cris) Amen
(09:34:17) (Barnma) amen
(09:34:19) (Roz) Amen
