I live in Santa Rosa, CA and luckily found 2 Circles at my Native American Medicine Center supporting sobriety...Can anyone give me a web site for learning about the Red Path, there is a book but my funds are low. The AA groups don't talk to me, the Native awareness feeds me. I have Dhyai Ywahoo's "Voices of our Ancestor's" a terrific blessing to anyone.....wishing all a Healthy and Memory filled 3-day week end. If anyone wants to start a discussion group about "being on the path" I'm in. Catdancer

Welcome Cat Dancer! I love that name! Your post is very interesting and we are glad you are here! I will definitely check into this book. We have another new member who is a recovered drug addict after 25 years. He has begun walking the Red Path and his progress is beautiful to watch. Quoting Walks In Spirit, walking the Red Path is not about culture, it is about staying with in Creators will. Have you seen our page telling about the Medicine Wheel? If you haven't go to the main page and click on the Medicine Wheel logo, it gives a good explanation of our views. May I ask you a few questions? Do you meditate? We are taught that prayer is talking to God and meditation is listening. We all have access to God and we should each of us follow Him from with in. The only way to stay on the Red Path is to listen to and obey God. I hope you will find us in service of your needs along your Red Path!

Maruawe Cat Dancer!
As Blu said, we are glad to have you here!
It does my heart so good to see other American Indian people now making the steps to sobriety. That is a battle I have fought myself. And with The Creator's help, I am winning it. I pray the same outcome for you and for each person fighting this battle now, and in the future. It is a tough one to fight, but it is so worth it!
My enemy was the bottle. Alcoholism. I am glad to say I have been sober now for 6 years. It has not been easy at all, but it's been the best thing I have ever done for myself.
The book you mentioned is a great one. Please check our Recommended Reading Page for other good books that may help you as well.
Again, it's good to have you with us here.
