Mat 5:39 But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.
While at the ARE chat I was having a conversation with Diane and she told me this interesting take on this scripture. I am going to have to do a little more research on this idea but it really makes you stop to think! I would be interested in your comments on this!
"It was never intended to show one as more humble, etc. The slapping of one on the cheek in biblical times, was done with the back of the hand. When one "Turned the other cheek" It meant, Now slap me as an equal, Be a man use your palm of the hand! Slapping someone with the back of the hand was a bloody insult!"

ah of course one might suspect that the infamous alias would have a spin on the turn the other cheek issue... and yes indeedy he do and here it be u c i think when it says THE RIGHT cheek one might think of the right as when one is conscious ..in this case of feeling an offense.. and turning the left would be looking within into one's subconscious to make sure if it is the offense one felt it as and if it be an offense where the proper response could be that of luke 17:3 if your brother sins against u, rebuke him and when he repents forgive him... well u all better start catchin on as god knows how many times i can keep comin back to correct or rebuke as the case needed may be blu i skimmed the last are chat we had and i kinda remember blu or wis asked me to post somethin here but i cant remember.. does u? remember?
