Recent discussion in one of our chats brought up the subject of White Buffalo Woman. I looked for pages that would be a good simple explanation and I found several that were nice. This quote is from a page I thought was clear. The quote explains what the White Buffalo Woman brought to The People.
"One of them was the sweat lodge, or the purification ceremony. One of them was the naming ceremony, child naming. The third was the healing ceremony. The fourth one was the making of relatives or the adoption ceremony. The fifth one was the marriage ceremony. The sixth was the vision quest. And the seventh was the sundance ceremony."

I personally find an interesting correlation between the seven gifts and the seven chakras.
1. The purification ceremony - In meditation an important, even critical part of the process is purification. It must be done first before anything else. It is significant that this is the first listed gift of the White Buffalo Woman. Purification of the first chakra, to bring out creation of the best within us.
2. The naming ceremony - The second chakra is located in the area of the womb (or thereabouts for men) and is associated with the color orange. Thus the formation of our earthly existence and the importance of the name. WE come here with a purpose, that purpose is our identity.
3. The healing ceremony - associated with the will or desire, the third chakra. WE bring with us from the past many wounds, all of which seeks healing in this existence. We must conform our desires to God's desires. We must be healed.
4. tThe making of relatives - This chakra is connected with emotion and human love. We must all understand that we are connected. One family.
5. The marriage ceremony - This chakra is the link between emotion and thought, the connection to our higher selves, the marriage between our Higher selves and our lower selves.
6. The vision quest - The sixth chakra is located at the third eye , associated with psychic vision.
7.The Sundance ceremony - This chakra is our connection to our "higher selves" and to the "divine." It is associated with wisdom and integration of our eternal selves with our current self. We must set self aside to know God.
As you look over these seven gifts I am sure you will see other meaning ful correlations. The longer you look at something, the more you see.
I hope this small example is helpful in understanding that God has made Himself manifest to all the Earth in every people. No one culture, or people, or religion has the only key. God is with us all. He Graciously, lovingly has reached out to each and everyone of us. It is written in our hearts. We are all related. Blessings on your journey along the Red Path.
