Thursday Night Thoughts On Cayce: 03-29-07
(09:21:24) (~AutoGreeter) The Red Path Chat Room welcomes you to Thursday Night Thoughts On Cayce Chat. Tonight's Host is: Blu. WalksInSpirit is the Guest Host.
(09:24:05) (~Host-WalksInSpirit) We'll wait till 9:30 and then get started tonight. Blu could not be here, so I'm Guest Hosting for her. She prepared her chat, though. I think yall will enjoy it.
(09:32:04) (~Host-WalksInSpirit) Ok, if yall are ready, we'll get started
(09:33:59) (~Host-WalksInSpirit) The way Blu has this chat setup, she selected a Reading and will tell how it relates to her in her life. Then, we'll go alphabetically and we'll all discuss our feelings on the Reading.
(09:34:22) (~Host-WalksInSpirit) First, we'll get started with a prayer.
(09:36:53) (~Host-WalksInSpirit) Holy Father, we thank You for this opportunity to come together and fellowship and seek You. We ask that You'd touch each one here with Your wisdom, Love, and Peace. We ask that You'd quicken these words of wisdom shared tonight to our hearts and lives, and help us to always Walk our paths in Beauty.
(09:37:08) (~Host-WalksInSpirit) In Your Holy Name, we pray. Nunwe
(09:37:12) (Cris) Amen
(09:37:12) (@gg) Amen
(09:37:15) (merri) Amen
(09:37:16) (Raleigh) Amen
(09:37:18) (Sandy-) Amen
(09:37:20) (Roz) Amen
(09:37:31) (ron) amen
(09:38:04) (~Host-WalksInSpirit) This is from Blu. She had to work tonight, but she went ahead and prepared the chat for tonight. Here’s the Cayce Reading she selected for tonight, along with her thoughts and comments about it:
(09:38:39) (~Host-WalksInSpirit) Tonight we are going to do a lot of sharing, and everyone has to take a turn and we will go in alphabetical order. Just remember what you share will be posted at Red Path so use some common sense!
(09:39:02) (~Host-WalksInSpirit) We all know that the Cayce readings stress application and it's good to look back at life and learn from it. It's also good to share your experiences with others so that they too may benefit from it.
(09:39:03) (merri) LOL
(09:39:06) (~Host-WalksInSpirit) ;-)
(09:39:09) (Raleigh) :)
(09:39:29) (~Host-WalksInSpirit) This reading is from the A.R.E.'s daily quotes on Sunday and I thought it was a timely topic to share with you...
(09:39:49) (~Host-WalksInSpirit) "For many an individual entity those things that are of sorrow are the greater helps for unfoldment . . . - Edgar Cayce Reading 3209-2"
(09:40:07) (~Host-WalksInSpirit) To give you a little time to think I will go first.
(09:40:32) (~Host-WalksInSpirit) This concerns my job. When I first started with my company I had a job that I did not care for very much. After some difficult situations on the job that I felt were being unfairly stacked against me simply because I did not want to get myself in the drama of others I started to pray for a new job.
(09:41:05) (~Host-WalksInSpirit) I had no particular feeling that I belonged in this job and simply prayed for a new opportunity. After a time I was offered a new job in the same company and I took the advancement with great surprise and delight!
(09:41:41) (~Host-WalksInSpirit) After a time that job was going to be eliminated and again I became concerned about my job and began to pray.
(09:41:53) (~Host-WalksInSpirit) I applied for the job I have currently and was surprised that not only was I accepted, I passed the training that I thought I would not pass!
(09:42:22) (~Host-WalksInSpirit) Again after a period of time there were certain difficulties with the job and I began to pray, but this time I added an affirmation that went like this;
(09:42:41) (~Host-WalksInSpirit) "I have a wonderful job, working for wonderful people, with wonderful pay!"
(09:42:59) (~Host-WalksInSpirit) Then the most amazing thing happened. My expectations were that I would get a new job, but instead everything around me that I thought would never change, began to change.
(09:43:22) (~Host-WalksInSpirit) The boss that hated me suddenly quit the company. We even hugged when she said goodbye! I got a new boss that thinks I am the greatest thing since peanut better and jelly.
(09:43:54) (~Host-WalksInSpirit) I am able to serve and work with people who desperately need to feel God's love in their life and I get paid pretty good for it!
(09:44:27) (~Host-WalksInSpirit) Many things that I considered blocks were gone and I am quite happy to go to work and do what I do.
(09:44:48) (~Host-WalksInSpirit) The pattern here is that every time I find myself in a difficult and unhappy situation at work I pray and realize that this is the beginning of a new stage of the development process.
(09:45:13) (~Host-WalksInSpirit) It always works out that I am in a new and better situation to do what I love to do, serve God in what ever capacity He sees fit.
(09:45:33) (~Host-WalksInSpirit) End.
(09:45:47) (merri) clapping hands!
(09:45:52) (~Host-WalksInSpirit) :-)
(09:46:18) (Raleigh) :)
(09:46:33) (Cris) That was wonderful very positive
(09:46:35) (Sandy-) wonderful!
(09:46:36) (@gg) It's wonderful that Blu has recognized the importance. I think that is her secret.
(09:46:53) (~Host-WalksInSpirit) Oh, me too!
(09:47:33) (~Host-WalksInSpirit) So, that is how tonight's Reading: "For many an individual entity those things that are of sorrow are the greater helps for unfoldment . . ." - Edgar Cayce Reading 3209-2 related in Blu's life.
(09:48:18) (~Host-WalksInSpirit) Cris? Any thoughts on tonight's Reading?
(09:48:46) (Cris) Yes if nobody finds illness morbid
(09:49:10) (Cris) I never thought I would end up as a caregiver. It wasn’t the kind of life I envisioned for my family or myself. Learning how to cope will illness and crisis situations has helped me develop abilities and strength I didn’t know I had.
(09:49:15) (~Host-WalksInSpirit) No, it's a part of life. Please, go ahead.
(09:49:28) (Cris) Through the challenges of illness I’ve learned to accept what can’t be changed and find enjoyment in small things giving thanks that I’ve had time with those I love and care for.
(09:50:14) (Cris) Next?
(09:50:36) (@gg) I guess that's me. :-)
(09:50:36) (Roz) and yu do it so gracefully Cris
(09:50:42) (~Host-WalksInSpirit) Awesome, Cris! I have always sensed your strength and admired you for it. :-)
(09:51:13) (@gg) 1968 A traumatic year. The loss of my father in February, my mother in June and my husband in September; and as their caregiver, no amount of knowing the inevitable can blunt the shock of such a loss.
(09:51:46) (@gg) Sorrow and grief is a process, long and difficult, through a tunnel with only a faint light at its end, a universal human experience.
(09:52:06) (@gg) In my search for finding comfort and meaning and the need of new direction in my life, a friend gave me "There Is A River", the life story of Edgar Cayce written by Thomas Sugrue. This book piqued my interest and from there my library became filled with as much material I could find about Cayce and his channeling.
(09:52:59) (@gg) Edgar Cayce's thought presented by Blu tonight makes me realize that nothing more, than the sorrow and grief during that period, could have prepared me more for growth and wisdom than the gift from this wonderful soul , shared with the world, bringing the presence of God ever closer in my life!
(09:53:25) (@gg) Finished.
(09:54:15) (~Host-WalksInSpirit) What a comfort, Grandmother!
(09:54:25) (Raleigh) :)
(09:54:27) (Cris) That was beautiful Lory
(09:54:40) (Sandy-) yes, it was
(09:55:12) (~Host-WalksInSpirit) Merri?
(09:55:18) (merri) my feelings about this quote are: if there is never any sorrow would we appreciate the joy? If there is never any adversity in our lives would we be willing to help others? In dealing with life's trials & tribulations, sorrows, joy I think it can't help but let us unfold. I try to start my day thinking of all the Blessings I have and ask for the strength to deal with whatever comes my way. I think of the saying about the sword
(09:56:16) (merri) and I Bless the day I found Edgar Cayce!
(09:56:29) (@gg) Amen
(09:56:37) (merri) He has shown me a path I never imagined!
(09:57:00) (~Host-WalksInSpirit) Merri, that reminds me of a proverb from My People. It says "The soul would have no rainbow, had the eyes no tears."
(09:57:18) (merri) Beautiful!
(09:57:21) (Roz) so true Merri
(09:57:23) (Raleigh) good one
(09:57:57) (Cris) Trials are blessings in disguise
(09:58:11) (~Host-WalksInSpirit) Yep, they are, Cris. Opportunities for growth.
(09:58:37) (~Host-WalksInSpirit) Ron?
(09:58:59) (ron) lets see...
(10:01:03) (ron) I really don't know where to begin regarding sorrow. But apparently I seemed to get past much of it with a little laughter along the way. But i do remember something about a paperback books that stood out catching my attention called, Venture Inward by Hugh Lynn Cayce.
(10:01:28) (ron) end
(10:02:05) (~Host-WalksInSpirit) Very good, Ron. :-)
(10:02:11) (@gg) Indeed, ron. Hugh Lynn had much of his father's qualities and nearly everything did was great.
(10:02:45) (~Host-WalksInSpirit) Roz?
(10:03:31) (@gg) I remember meeting him in California many years ago and he had quite a sense of humor too.
(10:04:20) (Roz) I felt so bereft when my son was killed but in time I could really understand others grief
(10:04:21) (~Host-WalksInSpirit) Wow, Grandmother! Cool!
(10:04:30) (@miketrueeagle) neat stuff lory
(10:04:43) (Cris) Humor is an important way to cope with stress
(10:04:47) (Roz) it gave me many opportunities to be of comfort
(10:05:03) (@miketrueeagle) im a big fan ..of anything ... CAYCE
(10:05:38) (@miketrueeagle) yes it is cris .. a braker
(10:05:51) (~Host-WalksInSpirit) (((Roz))) It's great that you could take that and turn it around and use it to help others, Roz. That is a wonderful thing to be able to do that.
(10:06:02) (@gg) Had no idea you lost your son, Roz. I think there is no such grief as losing a child.
(10:06:14) (Roz) yes Lory
(10:06:23) (Sandy-) one of lifes biggest sorrows
(10:06:57) (@gg) Can you imagine during world war II where the Sullivan family with five sons were all killed when their ship was sunk in the Pacific? How did they ever cope?
(10:07:06) (Cris) Roz did not mean to interupt You are a blessing to many here
(10:07:10) (Roz) He was a student at Purdue and a woman pulled out of an intersection and hit him and killed him
(10:07:33) (Roz) on his way back to shcool
(10:07:43) (@miketrueeagle) yes . an that was a great movie about them.... sullivans
(10:08:07) (~Host-WalksInSpirit) You know... that reminds me of a little philosophy I heard once. Who would you rather have bandage your wound? Someone who had never been hurt, or someone who had?
(10:08:24) (Roz) yup wis
(10:08:30) (@miketrueeagle) easy 1
(10:09:10) (~Host-WalksInSpirit) Raleigh?
(10:09:18) (@gg) WIS, I do not know anyone with more wisdom than you with your ancestors background teaching you all these wonderful adages.
(10:10:00) (~Host-WalksInSpirit) Thank you, Grandmother! We just see things in simple ways! :-)
(10:10:18) (@gg) God's way, WalksInSpirit.
(10:10:21) (Raleigh) i have learned so much this last couple years /
(10:10:39) (Raleigh) most all here know the sorrows i have had /
(10:10:57) (Raleigh) at the time they all seemed to be endless /
(10:11:08) (Raleigh) one upon another /
(10:11:18) (@miketrueeagle) an u can go on ral . u have seen the light ..
(10:11:50) (Raleigh) i have learned how it feels - for the 1st time ever how loss feels /
(10:12:05) (Raleigh) i have learnd patience /
(10:13:01) (Raleigh) in short the worst years of my life have been the best because i have learned by the best teacher
(10:13:10) (Raleigh) experience /
(10:13:18) (~Host-WalksInSpirit) I would just like to take an opportunity to tell you, Raleigh, how you have inspired me the last few months. I have seen you overcome all of the problems you've had, and you've done it amazingly well. I really admire you for it.
(10:13:22) (Raleigh) it will help me be a better person
(10:13:26) (Raleigh) end
(10:13:30) (@gg) You have faired well, Raleigh. I am very proud to know you with all your courage.
(10:13:38) (Raleigh) tx
(10:14:11) (Roz) many Blessings Ral
(10:14:18) (Raleigh) :)
(10:14:19) (~Host-WalksInSpirit) And you're right on the teacher thing. My Dad always said the best lessons in life aren't taught. They are learned.
(10:15:24) (~Host-WalksInSpirit) Sandy?
(10:15:59) (Sandy-) Okay...there are different levels of sorrows and some are easier to overcome than others.
(10:16:16) (~Host-WalksInSpirit) Yep
(10:16:30) (@gg) Depends on who is doing the sorrowing, Sandy.
(10:16:30) (Sandy-) Frustrations also tag along with the sorrows and again, some are easier to overcome than others.
(10:17:20) (Sandy-) humor works, comfort and love help too.
(10:17:27) (Sandy-) GG, what do you mean?
(10:17:50) (Roz) and what doesnt kill us makes us stronger....LOL
(10:17:52) (~Host-WalksInSpirit) Yep. Love is a biggie. :-)
(10:18:01) (~Host-WalksInSpirit) Right on, Roz!
(10:18:12) (@gg) We are all different, Sandy. Age has a lot to do with it. Environment, family, lots of things
(10:18:24) (Cris) We don't think we will be stronger at the time it happens
(10:18:44) (merri) indeed Cris
(10:18:44) (Cris) In time we adapt and grow
(10:18:46) (Sandy-) GG, sure we are all different
(10:19:24) (merri) I'm sure many of us have felt we would never get thru the present crisis
(10:20:15) (Sandy-) I suppose when I think of sorrow it is the kind of sorrow we experience when we lose the ones we love.
(10:20:18) (~Host-WalksInSpirit) Also, it has to do with individual mindsets
(10:20:33) (Roz) and often its day at a time
(10:20:40) (Sandy-) yes, it is
(10:20:52) (merri) absolutely
(10:21:14) (~Host-WalksInSpirit) I wish I had the Reading right here, but Cayce once said "How miserable do ye *want* to be?"
(10:21:18) (Sandy-) prayer and conversations with God are tremendous helps
(10:21:19) (@gg) Not meaning to citicize, Sandy. Some of the families I've seen in hospice are truly in need of help.
(10:21:19) (Raleigh) sometimes its one moment at a time /
(10:21:40) (Raleigh) yes W / i foound that true /
(10:21:47) (Sandy-) GG, I didn't think you were criticizing
(10:22:28) (~Host-WalksInSpirit) Mike?

(10:31:26) (@miketrueeagle) we have the knowing .. we can cut thru it an go on !
(10:31:34) (~Host-WalksInSpirit) Ok, here's my take:
(10:31:41) (@miketrueeagle) k wis
(10:31:41) (~Host-WalksInSpirit) Grandmother, we have something in common. A similar experience. 1993 was a terrible year for me. My fiancee was killed in a car accident that April while on her way to move back in with me after a separation. I was devastated and blamed myself.
(10:32:12) (~Host-WalksInSpirit) Then, that September, my Dad had a massive heart attack while working at a neighbor's house. I was supposed to have gone with him, but was not able because I was still recovering from minor knee surgery.
(10:32:38) (~Host-WalksInSpirit) Found out that he laid there for 2 hours before his body was discovered. Again, I blamed myself. If I had just gone with him, I might have been able to call for help and saved him. But the coroner told us he was gone before he hit the ground.
(10:32:47) (Raleigh) we are given thye knowlegde / and to him that much is given much is expected / i can see that strength in all here ?
(10:33:02) (Raleigh) here- period /
(10:33:16) (~Host-WalksInSpirit) I carried that guilt like millstones around my neck for years. Then, I met Laura and she introduced me to the Cayce Material. I credit her and God for saving me from that deep, dark pit I was in. I can look back now and see that all of those experiences built the man I am today.
(10:34:34) (merri) And a GOOD man it is!!
(10:34:41) (~Host-WalksInSpirit) Thanks Merri!
(10:34:44) (Raleigh) goodness W
(10:35:07) (Sandy-) much to be proud of!
(10:35:11) (@gg) A tearing story, WalksInSpirit. I guess we all have one and it helps to tell the story. Thanks for sharing.
(10:35:49) (merri) and so we can see the truth in the quote given us tonight
(10:35:57) (~Host-WalksInSpirit) It helps to know that there's a plan in all things and God is at the helm.
(10:36:11) (Raleigh) yes true /
(10:36:21) (~Host-WalksInSpirit) Regardless of how much we'd love to take on all the responsibility sometimes. ;-)
(10:36:35) (@miketrueeagle) we have shared somthing very special... here tonite.. it says alot about us... an y we r here
(10:37:20) (~Host-WalksInSpirit) Yes, there's something very healing in sharing these things and how God heals us. :-)

(09:42:22) (~Host-WalksInSpirit) Again after a period of time there were certain difficulties with the job and I began to pray, but this time I added an affirmation that went like this;
(09:42:41) (~Host-WalksInSpirit) "I have a wonderful job, working for wonderful people, with wonderful pay!"

(10:35:49) (merri) and so we can see the truth in the quote given us tonight
(10:35:57) (~Host-WalksInSpirit) It helps to know that there's a plan in all things and God is at the helm.
(10:36:11) (Raleigh) yes true /
(10:36:21) (~Host-WalksInSpirit) Regardless of how much we'd love to take on all the responsibility sometimes. ;-)
