Sacred Umbilical Cord Of The Maya: 10-07-06
(09:32:39) (merri) I just read the greeting WIS...Sacred Umbilical Cord?
(09:33:16) (Host-Blu) It's part of ancient Mayan beliefs
(09:33:23) (Host-WalksInSpirit) yep, Merri. It's a great article!
(09:33:48) (merri) sounds interesting!
(09:44:52) (Host-Blu) This material came from the ARE files
(09:52:57) (Host-WalksInSpirit) Blu will get us started with a prayer in just a sec.
(09:54:39) (Host-Blu) ok ready to pray?
(09:54:52) (Host-Blu) Heavenly Father, we come together tonight united by your grace and mercy, as children seeking the light. We ask for your guidance and help as we seek to understand . We ask for your blessings on your children and for those who grieve. Thank you Father for all that you are and help us to manifest your will on earth. In the name of the Christ we pray, Amen
(09:54:52) (Qrious) yes.
(09:54:53) (Cris) ready
(09:54:56) (merri) ready
(09:55:00) (Cris) Amen
(09:55:13) (merlin) amen
(09:55:17) (Qrious) ameni
(09:55:18) (Host-WalksInSpirit) Nunwe
(09:55:21) (merri) Amen
(09:55:39) (Richard) Amen
(09:55:54) (Roz) Amen
(09:56:46) (Host-WalksInSpirit) Before we move on in The Great Migration series, we thought we'd pause and take a closer look at the Mayas.
(09:58:02) (Host-WalksInSpirit) Cayce did at least two full Readings that dealt solely with the Mayas. He stressed the importance of their culture and religious beliefs - not only to that age, but to future ages to come.
(09:58:42) (Host-WalksInSpirit) Tonight's article will shed more light on the Maya.
(09:58:57) (Host-WalksInSpirit) Sacred Umbilical Cord of the Maya
(09:59:08) (Host-WalksInSpirit) by Raymond Tarpey
(09:59:25) (Host-WalksInSpirit) There is a dark, still place in the northern sky. As our ancient ancestors looked upward, the other stars appeared to slowly move around this place, now occupied by Polaris, the North Star. The ancient Olmec and Mayan stargazers noticed it, and they wondered about its significance for their lives.
(09:59:52) (Host-WalksInSpirit) The ancient Greeks noticed it too and named it omphalus, meaning the navel, the center. Greek is an Indo-European language. Greek, Latin, German, English, Italian, Spanish, French, and Farsi (Persian) are among the long list of modern languages with roots in ancient India.
(10:00:16) (Host-WalksInSpirit) We can see how OM, the sacred-center concept of India, made its way into the Greek Omphalus concept. Om is the vibration of divine resonance. The Romans translated omphalus as umbilicus, and thus we have the word we use for the central, navel idea in present-day culture.
(10:00:50) (Richard) That is interesting.
(10:00:53) (Host-WalksInSpirit) Edgar Cayce, the great psychic and seer, made sure to align his head toward this northern central place when giving most of his “readings.” In this way, like many ancient seers, he enhanced his ability to resonate with the intelligent design. Such alignment helped him access the power of spiritual sight.
(10:01:16) (Roz) did nt know that
(10:01:35) (Host-Blu) giving more credence to the 4 directions as mentioned by the American Indian cultures
(10:01:45) (Host-WalksInSpirit) Yep!
(10:01:50) (Richard) For a health reading he would lay the other way.
(10:01:56) (Host-WalksInSpirit) According to a Mayan story about the beginning of the Fourth Creation, which we are living in, called “The Age of Movement,” God designed human beings to be the fruitful inhabitants of the “Middle Earthen Plane.” As part of this grand design, a mist was placed in the eyes of the new humans so that they could not see everything that God sees.
(10:02:04) (Host-Blu) the directions for different types of meditation are significant
(10:02:45) (Host-WalksInSpirit) But a promise went along with the obscuring mist: If we humans would study the intricate workings of the Middle Earthen Plane, if we would “keep the days” (meaning, keep the calendar) and align ourselves with it, then we could see as far as God sees and as far as we once saw long before this age.
(10:02:53) (Richard) Could explain why things seem to broadside me in some dreams.
(10:02:53) (Host-Blu) north is for physical attunement
(10:03:13) (Qrious) sounds like the veil that Elisha asked God to remove from his servants eyes to see the hosts of heaven.
(10:03:27) (Richard) I agree.
(10:03:50) (Host-WalksInSpirit) Yep. Or the scales that fell from Paul's (?) eyes on the road.
(10:04:01) (Host-Blu) it certainly does
(10:04:20) (Host-WalksInSpirit) This is a sacred covenant made in the previous era of spirit beings, before the present human time.
(10:04:45) (Host-WalksInSpirit) One of the important signs given to us in this Fourth Creation is the umbilical place in the northern sky. It was placed there to represent the miracle of life on planet Earth. When we truly think about Earth – its exquisite, balanced perfection – then the intelligent design of God is noticed and the still center of the sky may be understood.
(10:04:57) (Richard) The problem is still in the interpretation of what we see... as long as we are in the ego we will not see that well.
(10:05:26) (Host-Blu) that's true Richard
(10:05:32) (Host-WalksInSpirit) To gain this understanding, let’s focus on the Olmec and Maya cultures because of their extraordinary clarity, consistency, and devotion to spiritual understanding. Edgar Cayce’s readings identify the lands of the Olmec and Maya as spiritual places.
(10:05:39) (Richard) Are you refering to the star Arcturus.
(10:05:58) (Richard) Spelling.
(10:06:06) (Qrious) Ruth Montgomery speaks of it.. from this guy that tuned into the Ring.. like the ancients used to..if memory serves.
(10:06:20) (Host-Blu) Polaris, the North Star
(10:06:33) (Richard) I see.
(10:06:41) (Host-WalksInSpirit) This is an article by Raymond Tarpley
(10:06:57) (Host-WalksInSpirit) Yep, she does, Qrious
(10:07:02) (Richard) The Ring Q?
(10:07:06) (Host-Blu) bear in mind this star was not there when these mayans began this concept
(10:07:24) (Host-WalksInSpirit) Cayce reported that one of the three copies of the ancient Atlantean records would be found in the Mayan lands of the Yucatan. He also reminded us that one of our main tasks in this life is to remember who we once were and to fulfill our spiritual destiny.
(10:07:38) (Qrious) its in Walks book list Richard.. I betcha.
(10:07:50) (merlin) wouldn't there be a time when there was the change from the previous pole star to polaris now
(10:08:14) (Richard) I have read most of Ruths books except maybe the first one.
(10:08:17) (Host-WalksInSpirit) I think it is, Qrious
(10:08:23) (Host-WalksInSpirit) :-)
(10:08:25) (Richard) Could use a re-read though.
(10:08:32) (Host-WalksInSpirit) We take up this pursuit as we investigate how the Olmec and Maya have used the sacred umbilical cord, the Kuxan Suum (meaning “The Road to Sky”), to regain contact with the Spirit.
(10:08:39) (Host-Blu) yes Merlin, this material refers to a time before the earth changes, but as it said, there was an empty space hence the umbilical chord
(10:09:12) (Host-WalksInSpirit) The spiritual umbilical cord of the ancient and modern Maya is rooted in the cosmology developed by the Olmec civilization. Actually, the Olmec may have referred to themselves as the Xi (pronounced she) people.
(10:09:21) (merlin) a possible black hole ?
(10:09:39) (Host-Blu) I don't know, don't think they could see a black hole
(10:09:50) (Host-WalksInSpirit) The name Olmec was given to them by the Aztecs. The Aztecs imported rubber from the Olmecs, and in the Aztec language of Nahuatl, Olmec means “rubber people.”
(10:10:04) (Richard) Possible time befor the last re-alignment.
(10:10:21) (Host-WalksInSpirit) The two most ancient Olmec sites on the Gulf Coast of Mexico are San Lorenzo, which reached its high point between 1400 and 1100 BCE, and its successor site, La Venta, which peaked in the era between 900-600 BCE.
(10:10:24) (Richard) Polaris would not have been visible to them then.
(10:10:45) (Host-Blu) I am wondering if this is the star of the nativity
(10:10:48) (Host-WalksInSpirit) One of the earliest signs of the sacred umbilical cord can be seen at the very bottom of Olmec Altar 4, found at La Venta, Veracruz (now on display in La Venta Park in Villahermosa, Tabasco).
(10:12:28) (Host-WalksInSpirit) In Illustration 1, we can see an Olmec ruler or high priest grasping a rope-like representation of the cosmic umbilical cord. In so doing,
(10:12:28) (Host-WalksInSpirit) he displays his ability to access the powers of knowledge and eternal life from that central, spiritual place. The hollow niche is the sacred cave and place of self-sacrifice.
(10:12:55) (Host-WalksInSpirit) Above him is the sacred jaguar design. The Jaguar is the sign of the life-giving Sun rising victoriously each morning after its passage through the night sky and the Underworld. The rebirth of the Sun each morning is one of the clearest signs on this Middle Plane of our ultimate destiny.
(10:13:03) (Host-Blu) self sacrifice as in Jesus!
(10:13:55) (merlin) maybe this umbilical cord is an extension of our milky way as it extends itself throughout our galaxy.
(10:14:00) (Host-WalksInSpirit) This Olmec ruler-priest saw himself in the Middle Place of the Earthen Plane. He was following a contract made in the time before time, when our spirits promised to remember who we were and where we came from.
(10:14:12) (Host-Blu) ah Merlin you have something there
(10:14:29) (Host-WalksInSpirit) The sacred umbilical cord is both the metaphor and the practical vehicle of remembrance and the power that comes through it.
(10:15:11) (Richard) Archtypical of the silver cord.
(10:15:23) (Host-Blu) exactly Richard
(10:15:36) (Host-WalksInSpirit) All of the main Olmec structures are oriented toward the sacred center of this northern place. Among them are the key areas now referred to as “Complex C” and “Complex A.” In Illustration 2, we see the key elements of the structures, including their sunken mosaics.
(10:16:02) (Host-WalksInSpirit) If we examine this site carefully, we can see the cosmic scheme of the universe through the eyes of the Olmecs. They drew some of their inspiration from the volcano of San Martin Pajapan and the Lake of Catemaco, in the Tuxtla Mountains, located in their homeland in the present state of Veracruz.
(10:16:33) (Host-WalksInSpirit) To the south stands the round, fluted volcano monument. It is a symbol of “First True Mountain,” the creative power on Earth, the center of creation in the sky, and the power of the Jaguar Sun reborn each day. On the north end, we can see a representation of the watery, primordial Underworld.
(10:17:03) (Host-WalksInSpirit) We know this by recognizing the water lily symbols on the bottom fringes of the massive, serpentine stone mosaics at its entrance. Serpentine is a type of stone: magnesium iron silicate hydroxide. It has a greenish-white translucence similar to jade.
(10:17:30) (Host-WalksInSpirit) For the Olmec and Maya, jade is the ultimate symbol of spirituality and the creative life force, but serpentine is more plentiful than jade and was thus used for these massive mosaics.
(10:18:07) (Host-WalksInSpirit) For the Olmecs and their spiritual inheritors, the Maya, the water lily symbolizes the creative life force coming from the waters of the Underworld below the Middle Earthen Plane. The water lily appears on the water, as if from nothing. It is a wondrous metaphor of the magic of creation on this Earth.
(10:18:46) (Host-WalksInSpirit) Notice the three linear mounds within the rectangle of the watery place; these represent the three hearthstones in every Mayan home. There is also a large circular mound, which probably represents the axis of the universe, which connects Xibalba (the terrifying Mayan Underworld) to its “Sky Entrance” at the center of the Milky Way.
(10:19:22) (Host-WalksInSpirit) The middle portion of this complex is our place in the cosmos. We humans live atop the waters of the Underworld, where death is life and life is death. The Olmec/Mayan metaphor for our role here on Earth and the forces of Death that humans face is the Cosmic Ball Game. We see the court enclosed by two long mounds. At the center is another massive block mosaic made of serpentine.
(10:20:06) (Host-WalksInSpirit) Notice that: "where death is life and life is death"
(10:20:39) (Host-WalksInSpirit) We know it is the place of the ball game because the blocks
(10:20:39) (Host-WalksInSpirit) of stone are worn from the foot traffic of hundreds of games played
(10:20:39) (Host-WalksInSpirit) here. Here is the place where we use our wits against the seemingly
(10:20:39) (Host-WalksInSpirit) insurmountable forces of Death.
(10:20:48) (Richard) Refering to reincarnation perhaps.
(10:21:07) (Host-WalksInSpirit) That's what I was thinking, Richard.
(10:21:15) (Host-Blu) more like the souls who came here and were not suppose to be here
(10:21:21) (Host-Blu) entrapped
(10:21:42) (Richard) Ego keeps us tied to it.
(10:22:25) (Host-WalksInSpirit) For the Maya, death is the symbol
(10:22:25) (Host-WalksInSpirit) of our fears. When we face our fears, we see clearly and reclaim
(10:22:25) (Host-WalksInSpirit) our eternal, spiritual birthright. According to the covenant, if we use our divine wit and resonate with the intelligent design of Earth, we are reborn and we remember who we truly are.
(10:23:17) (Richard) Interesting to note that Gary Renard has now given us a method to eliminate the ego.... and free us from haveing to return here..
(10:23:28) (Host-WalksInSpirit) Let’s take this one more step in our pursuit of the full spiritual message of these ancient peoples. Imagine that this entire three-sectioned complex at La Venta is standing upright, with the volcano toward Earth and the north end toward the sky. This is the sacred umbilical cord, the silvery cord of remembrance and power at the center of our world.
(10:24:01) (Host-WalksInSpirit) This “Road to Sky” goes beyond our Earth through the center of the Milky Way and even beyond. It also goes below us through the waters of the Underworld, past the monuments and remnants of our buried, ancient civilizations, and through the giant resonating crystal, thought to be at the center of the Earth.
(10:24:48) (Host-WalksInSpirit) For the Olmec and later generations of the Maya, this Road to Sky (which is also the Sacred Umbilical Cord) came to be represented as a serpent. (It was also represented by the Sacred World Tree.) The serpent is the metaphor for knowledge of all things in the Earth and in the Underworld (the Knowledge of Good and Evil).
(09:33:16) (Host-Blu) It's part of ancient Mayan beliefs
