Dream Chat: 12-14-07
(09:39:07) (@autogreeter) Good Evening. The Red Path Chat Room welcomes you to Dream Chat, Hosted By Merri.
(09:43:19) (merri) I have a post for tonight are you guys game for it?
(09:43:27) (@walksinspirit) Sure!
(09:43:38) (merri) ok
(09:43:40) (@roz1) sure thing
(09:43:46) (@ron1) ok
(09:44:09) (merri) There are common denominators that link all mankind: the indwelling spirit and the gift of free will are two examples. Another is physical death. Every person can anticipate the experience of this transition. And death is just that-a transition from one dimension of living to another dimension of living.
(09:44:43) (merri) Through the process of sleeping and dreaming we rehearse dying each night. Just as the rehearsal of a theater production is not identical to the circumstances of the opening night performance, there is enough similarity that valuable training can take place. In discussing the nature of the sleep state, the Cayce readings call it "shadow of, that intermission in the earth's experience of, that state called death." (5754-1)
(09:45:42) (merri) Just as the shadow cast by an object is not precisely the object itself, it does give us important clues about the object's appearance. Sleeping and dreaming give us a nightly introduction into the realm of non-material life.
(09:46:26) (merri) One of the most significant of the common experiences is that of reviewing the entirety of one's life. Every minute detail of the individual's life is viewed simultaneously, often in a panoramic display. The parallel principle from the readings is that at death the subconscious mind (the storehouse of memories of all our past experiences), becomes the conscious mind.
(09:47:10) (merri) The important thing to remember about dreams in this regard is that they serve to remind us. They show us that nothing is forgotten in the mind of the soul. What else can we anticipate about the after death experience? Again there are many clues from the dream readings. We are drawn to experience with like-minded souls.
(09:48:57) (merri) The point is that any such body is created by the soul because it provides a vehicle for the experiences one needs. It may well be that in the initial periods after death we appear to ourselves to have bodies because we believe we require a body to experience. Although we are infinite, pure consciousness, we do not fully realize that yet.The point is that any such body is created by the soul because it provides a vehicle for the experiences one needs. It may well be that in the initial periods after death we appear to ourselves to have bodies because we believe we require a body to experience. Although we are infinite, pure consciousness, we do not fully realize that yet.
(09:49:54) (merri) As we move on and grow in awareness after death, we may reach dimensions in which a body as we know it is no longer needed. It is interesting to note however, that in the dreams of most people, the dreamer has a body through which he or she experiences in the dream. This can be likened to our belief that we require a body of some sort in the after-death state.
(09:50:59) (merri) do you always see yourself in a body when you dream?
(09:51:51) (merri) sometimes I don't, more like I'm watching a movie
(09:52:21) (@roz1) interesting
(09:52:32) (merri) As a final note about the quality of life after death, we might consider an uninterpreted dream of Edgar Cayce about the borderland (that dimension of experience just after death). In the dream Cayce found himself in the borderland with his wife and secretary. They decided that they should carry on the work of helping others just as they had in the earth.
(09:52:45) (@ron1) Usually, I observe myself, an image of myself. And I'm looking on at what is taking place...
(09:53:32) (merri) They enlisted the aid of a man they knew from earthly life and he helped them construct the proper building. At one point the man asked Cayce, "But tell me, have you seen any of these people we expected to see in heaven? Because this is heaven, ain't it?" Cayce answered that he was not sure but he felt they were on the right road! Then they began to have meetings in their new building.
(09:54:18) (merri) People came who needed help. Apparently many did not realize that in this after-death state there was work that needed to be done. Since there was no longer the harshness of material life, many souls had decided that all they had to do was just sit around, making no efforts to grow in awareness or serve others.
(09:55:10) (merri) Many had also forgotten who they were. In this dream Cayce began to give readings for people. His work was to help "find out for people who they were, and what they wanted to do!" This dream seems to point out that it is necessary to keep an attitude after death of seeking to know ourselves more fully and of being of greater service to others.
(09:55:39) (merri) The End
(09:57:11) (merri) I have a little more on Divine Inspiration
(09:57:31) (merri) are ya game!
(09:58:09) (merri) We have been promised that we can know God. The knowledge referred to is not just in an intellectual understanding of His laws, but a direct, experiential knowledge of His love and presence in our lives.
(09:58:41) (merri) There are many avenues for this type of experience. For some it comes in prayer or meditation. For others, through an attunement to nature. However, for many it is primarily through the dream state that old perspectives of life are shed and a direct perception of the Divine is revealed.
(09:59:21) (merri) Such a dream can inspire us, in the deepest sense of the word. For days or weeks afterwards we are likely to see ourselves, others and daily life in a different way. Discovering or rediscovering the promise of God's closeness is a primary benefit of dream study.
(10:00:02) (merri) Occasionally we may have a dream of divine inspiration without conscious preparation on our part. However, it is much more likely for such a special dream experience to follow a period of personal attunement. That attunement may have many facets: improving physical health, meditating consistently and developing appropriate attitudes and ideals.
(10:00:39) (merri) The Bible, the Cayce readings and many other sources suggest that God can be known by those who diligently seek Him. And yet it is the attitude or purpose accompanying that seeking which is critical.
(10:02:10) (merri) A dream in which we directly contact His presence may come in a variety of forms: a voice that seems to come from God, some symbolic representation of God (such as a light or some human form), or the image of a spiritual master (such as the Christ). Both during and after the dream, it is the quality of our response that is critical. A dream in which we directly contact His presence may come in a variety of forms: a voice that

Both during and after the dream, it is the quality of our response that is critical.
(10:03:08) (merri) To realize the potential of such a dream we must maintain the attunement to and companionship of His presence, despite distractions in the dream that might lead us elsewhere. In the days following such a dream, our response should be one of hope and a willingness to share the "spirit" of the experience through our love for those around us.
(10:03:57) (merri) His presence may also be felt in one's dreams even though it is not recognized immediately nor remembered. An especially important insight is that an influence of harmony and reconciliation in a dream can be viewed as the intervention of the Christ Spirit in one's consciousness.
(10:04:38) (merri) It is well to keep in mind that we should not judge our own spiritual growth by how often God or the Christ seems to be appearing in our dreams. Remember the story of the apostle Thomas, whose doubting nature required that he see the physical image of Jesus directly. As he was told by the Master, "Now you believe because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen me and believed."
(10:05:23) (merri) One Jewish tradition likens a dream uninterrupted to a letter unopened. A letter from ourselves-although a forgotten part of ourselves.
(10:05:58) (merri) The End
(10:06:22) (@roz1) super Merri thanks
(10:06:52) (merri) my pleasure
(10:07:12) (@ron1) very good...
(10:07:15) (@walksinspirit) Great info, Merri! Thank you!
(10:07:24) (Lory-GG) Terrific advice, Merri
(10:07:36) (merri) anyone with a dream to share
(10:07:49) (Lory-GG) I often think my dreams are divinely guided.
(10:08:12) (@walksinspirit) Most definitely, Grandmother
(10:08:36) (Lory-GG) I have a very short one Merri, but I need to type it.
(10:09:01) (merri) OK Lory
(10:10:03) (merri) I like the last line of that post!
(10:10:18) (@walksinspirit) Me too!
(10:10:45) (merri) a dream uninterrupted to a letter unopened. A letter from ourselves-although a forgotten part of ourselves.
(10:11:11) (Lory-GG) This is strange for me, but there must be a purpose. I was driving what looked like a bus but it seemed to be hydroplaning, not flying exactly, but smooth and not bumpy. It wss full of angel clade type people. They were singing songs and we were really enjoying the trip. At one time we stopped at a sign and a man wanted to get on. I tried to open the door, but it would not open and the bus just started moving again without any attempt from me. I wakened.
(10:12:25) (Lory-GG) That's it.
(10:13:39) (merri) a message just for you and nobody allowed to hitch a ride
(10:14:14) (Lory-GG) hmmmm never thot of that Merri.
(10:14:32) (@ron1) A smooth, easy-going, joyful journey...with no time to stop
(10:15:31) (Lory-GG) but somehow, Merri, I don't seem to be getting a message from the dream. Am I missing something?
(10:15:34) (@ron1) a journey that is heading for you know where..:) ...with all those angelic beings to travel with you...
(10:15:35) (@walksinspirit) I had a bus dream once. I can't remember the details right now, but I remember the bus.
(10:16:09) (Lory-GG) Well we all will go there one day, Ron, and I for one am looking forward to the next journey.
(10:16:42) (@ron1) A joyful journey with plenty of spiritual company...
(10:17:00) (Lory-GG) Is the bus and myself as the driver meaningful?
(10:17:19) (merri) yes
(10:17:23) (@ron1) of course, showing you that you are not alone on this trip...
(10:17:45) (Lory-GG) In what way, Merri?
(10:17:59) (merri) it shows this is about you and your journey
(10:18:06) (@ron1) just leave your earthly baggage home and take along with you all your spiritual friends...:)
(10:18:16) (merri) and you are in the "drivers seat!"
(10:19:13) (@roz1) sas you help w/ the transition in the hospice yu are driving the bus
(10:19:18) (Lory-GG) Aaaaaah! Both your remarks, Merri and Ron, I like. And am looking to the day that I can leave my earthly baggage behind.
(10:19:18) (merri) and ron is correct, you are not alone
(10:19:49) (@ron1) you are in too much of a hurry to stop and pick someone up along the way...:)
(10:19:54) (Lory-GG) Did you recall your dream and your bus ride, WalksInSpirit and would you please share?
(10:20:36) (Lory-GG) Don't seem to be in a hurry, Ron, I did try to open the door.
(10:21:12) (Lory-GG) Are we are completely alone, Merri? Is not God's presence always there? Seems so for me.
(10:21:47) (@walksinspirit) I can't remember the details, Grandmother. I just vaguely remeber having the dream of being on the bus, and my cousin David was there too.
(10:22:12) (merri) sometimes we need reminding or to be reassured, Lory
(10:22:29) (Lory-GG) True.
(10:22:46) (@ron1) angels, or spiritual pursuits, objectives that you are taking with you on this journy...
(10:23:09) (@walksinspirit) It's significant that he was there, though, cause he's a Pentecostal preacher and was one of my spiritual "mentors"
(10:23:20) (@ron1) that is what I was thinking of when I said 'not alone'
(10:23:29) (Lory-GG) The joy of the trip was ever so obvious to me. I was ecstaticly happy.
(10:24:05) (merri) there is your message, Lory
(10:24:22) (merri) joy & happiness
(10:24:32) (@ron1) seeking spiritual guidance at the time of that dream WIS...perhaps, a troublesome period...
(10:25:21) (@ron1) like doubt...for instance
(10:25:26) (@walksinspirit) Oh... I remember we looked out the window of the bus and saw a Cross suspended in a huge Crystal boulder. It was beautiful!
(10:26:39) (merri) isn't the cross a symbol of ressurection?
(10:26:55) (@walksinspirit) I dunno, Ron. I been through a lot in my life, and one thing I can honestly say I've never done is I have never doubted God - no matter how bad things got for me.
(10:27:20) (@ron1) not doubted God, but yourself, is what I was thinking...
(10:27:29) (@walksinspirit) Oh, ok
(10:27:49) (@ron1) cross is above the earth symbol...perhaps
(10:27:57) (@walksinspirit) Yep, Merri
(10:28:04) (@ron1) ressurection...pretty good
(10:28:39) (@ron1) to eventually rise above certain things you are experiencing
(10:28:45) (merri) so you may have been seeing the symbol of His promise
(10:29:09) (@walksinspirit) Yep, I believe so, Merri
(10:29:11) (@ron1) resurrection...overcome...
(10:29:18) (@walksinspirit) And it was beautiful!
(10:30:26) (merri) I have to share this with you, my daughter ended her email to me with "remember the reason for the season"
(10:30:30) (@ron1) crystallized = the emotional nature stabilized
(10:32:15) (@ron1) birth - peace on earth...
(10:32:18) (@walksinspirit) I wish yall coulda seen that boulder. It looked like a pure crystal boulder with that wooden Cross inside it. It looked like the boulder had been formed around the Cross.
(10:32:44) (@ron1) I thought it was above it
(10:33:04) (@walksinspirit) Nope, it was inside it
(10:33:36) (@ron1) a cross inside a circle is the astrological symbol for the Earth
(10:33:49) (@walksinspirit) It's also a Medicine Wheel
(10:34:15) (@ron1) the wooden cross is obvious...my thought on the emotions...I got from one of the churches of revelation
(10:35:11) (@walksinspirit) A cross inside a circle is also a Medicine Wheel
(10:35:27) (@ron1) I think it one of the churches...could be with the four beasts...can't quaite remember
(10:35:48) (@ron1) I see WIS...
(10:36:06) (Lory-GG) That is similar to my own thoughts, Merri. I made a cover letter for my annual Christmas message to my faraway relatives and friends and the first words are 'Let the world have Hope'.
(10:36:46) (merri) I like that one also Lory
(10:36:46) (@ron1) the cross of healing would be the same for the Medicine Wheel WIS?
(10:37:37) (@walksinspirit) The Medicine Wheel represents the four Directions and the Paths we take in this life.
(10:37:56) (@ron1) or, the cross of earthly life...
(10:37:56) (merri) I think we get to caught up in the material aspect of Christmas and forget the reason for the season!
(10:38:04) (@ron1) ?
(10:39:02) (Lory-GG) You are so right Merri. It is almost heart breaking to see the idiocy of it all.
(10:39:17) (@walksinspirit) If you'll click on the Red Path logo on the Red Path home page (main page) it'll take you to our Medicine Wheel page. Or, you can go there from the drop-down menu on this page. I have a detailed explaination of the Wheel there.
(10:39:47) (@ron1) ok WIS...I will take a look and get a better idea
(10:41:11) (@walksinspirit) hometown.aol.com/redpath3030/medwheel.html
(10:41:18) (@walksinspirit) There's the addy Ron
(10:42:21) (merri) I do feel better seeing more people reaching out to those in need
(10:42:21) (@walksinspirit) You can click on that link and not get disconnected from chat
(10:42:24) (@ron1) ok...got it
(10:43:03) (merri) even our grocery store has a program for helping the needy with food
(10:47:53) (merri) well it's dreamtime for me....Blessings All
(10:48:07) (@walksinspirit) Merri, thank you for chat. I really enjoyed it!
(10:48:16) (@walksinspirit) Night Blessings Merri!

Cayce answered that he was not sure but he felt they were on the right road!
