Host-Blu says: Mike would you pray for us please?
true_eagle_mike says: k
true_eagle_mike says: r father in heaven
true_eagle_mike says: watch over us an protect us from harm
true_eagle_mike says: blessings to us alll ...amen ^i^
Host-Blu says: Amen
ron says: amen
diane says: Amen
Host-Blu says: OK, this is what WIS wrote and it will relate to the chat topic
Host-Blu says: I have a story. I've got cousins in Alabama. One time, I was there visiting. I had my fancy vintage 1977 Alvarez Yari Anniversary Edition DY85 guitar with me. (Beautiful guitar. Dripping with Mother Of Pearl.)
Host-Blu says: My cousin told me about this old man that played lead guitar for Elvis. They traveled around West Alabama and Eastern Mississippi, and down across the Jefferson County, Alabama line to all the little "juke joints" and played. This was pre-Sun Records - while Elvis still lived at Tupelo, Mississippi.
Host-Blu says: So, my cousin takes me and my fancy guitar to meet this old man. The old man breaks out THE ugliest guitar I have ever seen. It was obviously home made. It had an old Gretsch body, a Gibson Tune-O-Matic bridge, and an early 70's Fender Stratocaster neck.
Host-Blu says: All painted a nice bold white-white. The input jack was shoved up inside the body through a large crack in the side of the guitar, and none of the pots or switches had any knobs on them whatsoever.
diane says: lol
Host-Blu says: He plugged that old guitar into a home made amp that looked like a wooden box with a circle cut in the front. You could see the bare speaker through the hole. It had a volume knob and an input jack. That's it.
Host-Blu says: That old man and his home made guitar and amp SMOKED me and my fancy guitar that day. I have never been so embarrassed and ashamed in my life!
Host-Blu says: I was embarrassed because I had been smoked. But, I was ashamed because of what I had been thinking - that because of the way this old man's guitar looked, he couldn't possibly play as well, or know as much as I did!
Host-Blu says: That old man showed me a telegram from Elvis telling him he had got the contract from Sun Records, and asking him to come to Memphis and join him. The old man said by that time, he had a baby girl and felt he could not leave his family for extended periods of time, so he turned Elvis down.
Host-Blu says: I'll never forget that old man, or the lesson he taught me. It's not the guitar, or the name across the headstock that makes the difference.
Host-Blu says: That old man told me something that day: “Some were born to listen, and some were born to play…the proof is in the pickin'.” He made that $10 guitar sound like a million bucks.
true_eagle_mike says: ITS ...WATS IN THE SOUL !
Host-Blu says: I honestly would not trade my Lucy for any guitar. Period. Because every time I play her, I put a little piece of myself into that guitar. Plus, every guitar is unique. They are like people. These two things make my Lucy a one of a kind guitar. There's not another one like her on the planet!
Host-Blu says: Agree Mike!
diane says: right mike
Host-Blu says: Whatever your guitar says on the headstock... love it! Play it!
Host-Blu says: ok, now for the next part
Host-Blu says: The Amazing Azra
Host-Blu says: A Profile of Azra Simonetti
Host-Blu says: What can we say about the Amazing Azra? Well, her name is Azra Simonetti. She has a web site at www.azra.net. If you would like to experience an "Inspirational Spark," you better visit her web site. You'll become amazed yourself!
Host-Blu says: ok, we checked that web site and it is no longer up
Host-Blu says: The name Azra is of Arabic origin, meaning "one who levitates," "possessing the highest feminine qualities." Azra, however, is not arabic, she is Italian. How did she get this name? That's one of her great stories.
Host-Blu says: She has a background in musical theater. She played the part of Peter Pan. She is also a professional speaker and has worked as a speaker's coach. She has also worked as a trainer of entrepreneurs. A renaissance woman.
Host-Blu says: Azra is a wonderful painter. The paintings that you see here are on her website at www.azra.net, which she painted while spending nine years in the wilderness of Vermont (she was born in Massachusetts). "The Spirit of the Rainforest" has been reproduced on the cover of over a half million environmental magazines, catalogues and brochures.
Host-Blu says: YOu would recognize her art if you saw the paintings
Host-Blu says: I will get the addy for some of it at the end of chat
diane says: ok
Host-Blu says: As a radio talk show host in San Francisco, she created and produced a program to give artists, speakers and educators a forum to discuss personal and global creativity and evolution.
Host-Blu says: Her life long focus on personal development and meditation has lead her to become a Brain-Wave Trainer. Concentrating on how to produce and maintain a High-Performance Mind using powerful focusing techniques, developed by Anna Wise. Azra facilitates individuals and groups to optimize their gifts and talents.
Host-Blu says: As a story teller, a bard, Azra uses little memories from her life become stories, poems and songs. Here is one example from her book, Let Wisdom Sing: Stories of Profound Insight and the Songs They Inspired.
Host-Blu says: How Big?
Host-Blu says: (This story reminds me of Diane!)
Host-Blu says: Fancy panties; yellow silk with rows of lace ruffles across the seat. I had never owned fancy panties before. They matched the gorgeous yellow dress I chose to wear on my first day of school. Although I was small for a girl my age, the yellow dress fit perfectly and made me look quite grown up.
diane says: omg
Host-Blu says: Grown up! Finally old enough to walk down the street with my brother and cousins and attend St. Rita’s Catholic Grammar School.
Host-Blu says: School was just as wonderful as I’d imagined and I quickly made friends. At recess, one of my new friends admired my yellow dress.
Host-Blu says: "Oh, and there’s fancy lace on the panties!" I exclaimed.
Host-Blu says: I hiked up my dress so they could see my ruffled bottom.
diane says: lol
Host-Blu says: "Hey, stupid!" a loud voice behind me yelled.
Host-Blu says: I looked around. Two older girls were making angry faces at us.
Host-Blu says: "Hey squirt," one of them said, stepping toward me. "Don’t you know any better than to show your panties in the schoolyard? You dumb little jerk!"
Host-Blu says: With her fist, she shoved my shoulder, almost knocking me over. Although this bully was a foot taller than I, I shoved her back. Next thing I knew we were rolling in the dirt, punching, scratching and kicking.
Host-Blu says: Two nuns ran from opposite sides of the schoolyard. They each grabbed one of us. "Girls, girls, no fighting, no fighting!"
Host-Blu says: After being separated, we were both led to the office and brought before an awesome looking, broad-shouldered woman called Mother Superior. She stood six feet tall in her black habit and could make anyone feel small, especially little girls. I knew right off why they called her Mother "Superior."
diane says: INDIANS
Host-Blu says: LOLOL
diane says: LOL
Host-Blu says: This is not Mary-like behavior, she said angrily.
Host-Blu says: Although I didn't know what “Mary-like” behavior was, I quickly figured out that Catholic girls were supposed to be like the Blessed Virgin Mary who probably had never been caught fighting in the schoolyard.
diane says: LOL
Host-Blu says: Fighting is sinful, Mother Superior said in a strict voice. She pointed to our soiled clothing and scratched arms and legs. I saw that the hem of my new dress was torn down. I didn't want to think what the ruffles on my panties must look like.
Host-Blu says: But somehow, I didn't feel ashamed or sorry, as Mother Superior suggested. My ruined clothing made me mad! So I was confused when I heard the other girl sobbing. She was a huge third-grader, yet she was crying like a baby.
Host-Blu says: She’s probably realized how badly she behaved, I thought. Expecting an apology, I was surprised when Mother Superior dismissed the older girl. Then big, scary, Mother Superior turned toward me. She came out from behind her desk and tried to make me feel guilty and cry. I don’t know why, I just wouldn’t.
Host-Blu says: "You’re a defiant little girl, aren’t you?" She folded her arms across her chest, directly over my head.
Host-Blu says: I was five and a half years old and I had never heard the word "defiant" but I knew immediately what it meant. Mother Superior called my home. My mother came, I got small and cried.
Host-Blu says: Later that night, when my father got home from work he asked, "Hey Princess, how was your first day of school?"
Host-Blu says: I lowered my head. My mother told him what happened: fighting on the first day, the humiliation of being called by Mother Superior, the ruined dress. This behavior would require a suitable punishment!
Host-Blu says: When she finally finished, my father looked at me with questioning eyes. He motioned for me to come sit on his knee. He asked why I had been fighting.
Host-Blu says: This was the very first time anyone had asked, "Why? What was the fight about?" Slowly, I told my father the story. He listened quietly without interrupting. When I finished, he asked me to bring the dress and panties.
Host-Blu says: He looked at them and said, "These are beautiful. I'm not surprised you wanted to show them off."
Host-Blu says: My father put his head down for a moment and was silent. He was a small person himself, only 5 feet 4 inches tall. He lifted his head and looked at my mother.
ron says: and tomorrow, kick some more as*
Host-Blu says: "Annie he said.
Host-Blu says: LOL @ Ron
diane says: LOL
Host-Blu says: My mother’s name was Anne, but when my father wanted her to really listen, he’d call her "Annie" in a particular tone of voice.
Host-Blu says: "Annie," he said, "don’t you know that sometimes small people have to show others how big they really are?"
Host-Blu says: My mother said nothing. I felt my heart smiling again. My father with his kindness and wisdom had not only validated my right to be excited about something beautiful but also to stand up for myself in the face of bullies.
Host-Blu says: That would have been enough, but then my father told me a secret I have never forgotten. He told me about the true meaning of being big. For years, I thought the wisdom he imparted to me that day was only for small people who might be forced, because of their size, to feel insignificant.
Host-Blu says: But as years have passed, I’ve come to realize that everyone feels small sometimes, everyone gets bullied or put down and occasionally feels inappropriate. My father’s wisdom was truly for everyone.
Host-Blu says: If you would like to know my father’s secret listen to my song, "How Big." This is song number 9 on the CD that accompanies the book. We can't reproduce the song here, but if you have RealPlayer, you can hear Azra's music on her website www.azra.net
Host-Blu says: Thank you Azra for letting us share your work here!
Host-Blu says: OK, lets pause here
true_eagle_mike says: k .. good stufff blu
Host-Blu says: At first I found it odd that this article really spoke to WIS, cause he picked this out
diane says: ty Blu
Host-Blu says: do you all see why this spoke to him?
true_eagle_mike says: yes .. .....i do
diane says: I think i do, yep
Host-Blu says: For some of us the most creative and happy part of us is a fragile entity hoping to be recognized
Host-Blu says: and most of us get it smashed out of us
Host-Blu says: I think it happened to me and it happened to WIS
Host-Blu says: I never became the artist I wanted to be
Host-Blu says: but with any force of good in the world I am not going to let that be the truth for WIS
true_eagle_mike says: out of the ashes comes .. the music... of the soul... shining thru
Host-Blu says: yes Mike
diane says: oooooo, I like that part about the fragile entity
Host-Blu says: we all have that with in us
Host-Blu says: that creative god being that wants to express the soul
diane says: It's like...folks who wear their heart on their sleeve
Host-Blu says: some of us are lucky to be loved and nurtured like Azra was by her father
diane says: they just want to share their joy, and SMACK
Host-Blu says: some of us aren't
Host-Blu says: yep
Host-Blu says: but as adults we can recognize that and nurture that child with in us
Host-Blu says: grab on to that which gives us zest for life and nurture it
true_eagle_mike says: the test of life .. can make u stronger.. if u believe... in yourself !
Host-Blu says: if we don't, we die
Host-Blu says: exactly Mike
Host-Blu says: This is what God wants from us, to be creative, happy and joyful
Host-Blu says: like little children
Host-Blu says: find that with in you and never let go of it
true_eagle_mike says: as the song goes .. u know u can b better then u r !
Host-Blu says: ok, enough of the *blu Moment*
Host-Blu says: to continue
Host-Blu says: The Amazing Azra
Host-Blu says: Initial comment by Henry Reed:
Host-Blu says: "When the real music comes to me--the music of the spheres, the music that surpasseth understanding--that has nothing to do with me 'cause I'm just the channel. The only joy for me is for it to be given to me and to transcribe it. Like a medium. Those moments are what I live for."
Host-Blu says: (from Edgar Cayce on Channeling Your Higher Self.)
Host-Blu says: When WIS first read that statement he was all over the place, with excitement
diane says: cool
Host-Blu says: He said to me, "That is exactly how I feel! I have been trying and trying to explain that and he said it perfectly!"
Host-Blu says: You can see why I wish he were presenting this chat
Host-Blu says: it's really all about something meaningful to him
Host-Blu says: This has been an "aha" moment for him
Host-Blu says: Azra Simonetti is a good example of multi-dimensional talent: painting, writing, music, interpersonal relations, and more, all of which is inspired by intuition.
true_eagle_mike says: expressing his soul
Host-Blu says: key word here is *INTUITION*
Host-Blu says: With regard to her music, we would refer you to the book, Spiritual Lives of the Great Composers by Patrick Kavanaugh. In many cases, these composers "channeled" their music in that they felt that they themselves did not invent or create their music, but merely transcribed what they heard and attributed the music to a spiritual source.
Host-Blu says: One comment upon her story and song about "How Big?": A memory from her childhood is the basis for a story and then inspires a song. What made her choose that memory? In my book, Your Intuitive Heart (see digest by Clayton Montez in this issue) I share a method for intuitive guidance that is based upon the wisdom hidden in a personal memory.
Host-Blu says: Using personal memories as seeds of wisdom seems to be a "soul" approach to intuition, in that much of what we call soul has to do with memory. What is an "old soul," but someone who has the wisdom of the ages, as if they were enriched by experience.
Host-Blu says: I can really relate to this part
Host-Blu says: This is often how I express myself in the way I try to help others
Host-Blu says: from my own experiences and what I have learned
diane says: by using your own personal stories
Host-Blu says: Can you see any of this in yourselves?
Host-Blu says: yep
diane says: Definitely
Host-Blu says: good!
Host-Blu says: In the movie, Ground Hog Day, Bill Murray plays a man who relives a given day over and over again. All events repeat themselves, except his reaction to them. Soon he is able to anticipate events. Soon he appears to be a genius, yet he knows it is simply because he has "seen it all" before.
true_eagle_mike says: there r the up times .... yes !
Host-Blu says: Perhaps people with great talents are souls who have developed these abilities over many lifetimes.
diane says: Hey! Cool
Host-Blu says: This movie "Ground Hog Day" is a synchronicity for me, cause I have just recently watched it about 3 or 4 times on late night tv, I love that movie
Host-Blu says: I found the process of change he went through in that movie fascinating
Host-Blu says: In a similar vein, people who have more experience in their field have been found to use their intuition more in responding to their work situations. It is as if they "have seen it all" before, and quickly respond to subtle patterns that are not evident to the newcomer.
diane says: It's a great one! My daughter's birthday is Feb 2
Host-Blu says: LOL Di
diane says: yep..
Host-Blu says: How does Azra's work inspire you? What connections do you see between being creative and using intuition? Let us hear your ideas.
diane says: hmmm
diane says: trying to think of anything "creative" i do. lol
true_eagle_mike says: reaching inside... being your best... the soul sings
Host-Blu says: absolutely Mike
true_eagle_mike says: an the creative juices flow
Host-Blu says: and when we find that in us, we are being who God wants us to be
Host-Blu says: we are after all co-creators
true_eagle_mike says: intuitive= AWARENESS
Host-Blu says: if I could inspire one person to be the creative geniuses they truly are then I would be so happy and fulfilled as a soul
Host-Blu says: It is pure joy to me to see people become who they are meant to be
Host-Blu says: and it's never to late
true_eagle_mike says: yes .. .. right -on blu
Host-Blu says: At any time in our lives we can reach beyond ourselves and contribute to the creative forces in this Universe
Host-Blu says: It's what makes the world a better place
true_eagle_mike says: but the other side..is life .. leaves scares... an to over come ..an go forward
Host-Blu says: God heals Mike
Host-Blu says: There does not have to be scars
true_eagle_mike says: he can..
Host-Blu says: He does if we let Him
Host-Blu says: We have to work at it sometimes, but it is always there waiting for us
ron says: yes blu, this is all very true and a very nice and correct approach to life...not to knock someone down while they are developing their creative talents, whether for fun or greater reasons,...if they are not as good as you are, with your creativity, that doesn't matter~!
Host-Blu says: God has no desire to see us suffer or want for Being the Being He created us to be
ron says: i have been getting ready to leave :)
Host-Blu says: Blessings Ron!
ron says: i still have about 15 minutes
Host-Blu says: I truly believe there is a genius waiting to be released with in each and every soul on the planet
Host-Blu says: ok Ron, cool!
Host-Blu says: The only thing stopping that creative genius, is belief
Host-Blu says: we stop believing in ourselves
ron says: ,...if they are not as good as you are, with creativity, that doesn't matter*
Host-Blu says: that is why Cayce says to smile, smile at strangers, instill hope
ron says: always encourage!!
true_eagle_mike says: an age can do that .. to some
Host-Blu says: Right Ron, its not a competition
Host-Blu says: but it does not have to Mike!
Host-Blu says: Creative people are the youngest people on the planet!
true_eagle_mike says: yes . but it does blu
Host-Blu says: only if we let it Mike, we have a choice
Host-Blu says: that is the crux of it, we get to chose
true_eagle_mike says: walt did an i m
Host-Blu says: If we think back to the story of the Nun
true_eagle_mike says: walts dog . got zapped by a skunk
Host-Blu says: what would have been different if she had been kind instead of judging?
Host-Blu says: if she had nurtured those little girls instead of become a stern and imposing figure? What if she had listened to them
Host-Blu says: that is a big lesson for me when I make my apprehensions at work, a big eye opener
Host-Blu says: I am the imposing stern nun, not the listening and loving parent
Host-Blu says: I am going to try to apply this on the job
Host-Blu says: I have an opportunity to become that loving influence for people when they come to a major crossroad in life and I hope I can use it wisely
diane says: That's awesome Blu
Host-Blu says: That is all I have for today! Open chat!
Host-Blu says: we will post the links at the path
true_eagle_mike says: thanks blu
Host-Blu says: YW
diane says: thanks Blu. will catch up on it at the path
Host-Blu says: ok di
